Guest kingkamala Report post Posted July 2, 2003 What's the worst thing a friend, relative or enemy has made you listen to? The worst for me has to be when my cousin made me listen to parts of Vanilla Ice's nu-metal CD. It was C-grade nu-metal, the rock remix of Ice Ice Baby is probably the worst remix I've ever heard. Said cousin also had me listen to parts of a Slaughter CD and Van Halen III (Although I actually liked what I heard of Van Halen III)
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2003 I hate it when people try and make you listen to something. It makes you think as if they need your approval of something and then you are scared to tell them you like it or hate it because you would either be giving them the benefit of the doubt or hurting their feelings. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 2, 2003 My friends Hollie and Sarah put on this emo compilation. Some songs were okay, like there was this one song that was a cover of that Michelle Branch song that went "you're everywhere to me, and when I close my eyes it's you I see," and I thought that was a pretty good cover. But the rest? I wanted to kill them both.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Anything involving Pop Country Well they didn't actually make me, but I know alot of people who like that crap so I've spent many a times listening to that crap because it was playing and I wasn't able to control the stereo. Guest kingkamala Report post Posted July 2, 2003 So far I think I've had to listen to the worst music out of any one in this board. Chicago and crappy emo are bad but Vanilla Ice nu-metal and Slaughter are nearly impossible to beat in terms of badness.

Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 3, 2003 I hate it when friends make you hear THEIR band and then stare at you waiting for response to tell them how great they are when they really suck ass. my best friend is HORRIBLE about this. he buys like 6 cd's every week, and every time i'm in the car with him he'll put a cd in and say "hey, this is ______, it's so cool" and play ONE SONG on it, then take the cd out and put another one in. this process continues until the ride is over. and 99.9% just goes right through one ear & out the other, and he doesn't seem to realize it. but the worst thing i've ever been subjected to was when this little man-hating closet dyke in my senior class thought that "goodbye earl" was the greatest thing ever. i had three classes with this girl, and during every class she got the teacher to stop the class so that she could play that song. i wanted to kill that little bitch

Oh man, I've got a friend who's OBSESSED with that kind of music. 99% of his CDs are country, plus most of the presets on his car radio. Plus, it's pretty much all he talks about. I don't think I can take much more of how great Kenny Chesney is and how all the ladies love him. Add to this that most people at work like that type of music, too, so whenever a radio is on, there's a 99% chance that we're listening to country (unless I can get to the radio first and I put it on the only rock station that comes in there). I know FAR too many new country songs and the few that I can stand are ruined by the fact that most of those stations will play a new song about 4903 times an hour. The cover that you speak of is by a band called "Yellowcard", which my friend claims is going to be huge. On the other hand, they instantly lost all credibility when they covered Michelle Branch. I'm not a big fan of her music....but I'd hit it six ways from Sunday.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Everytime I ride with my sister in her car she listens to the Top 40 Hits station here in Houston (104 KRBE) which is notorious for playing the same 10 songs every hour just about. And in the span of one evening I heard "In da Club" by 50 Cent 3 FREAKING TIMES!!! I also heard "Shake that thing miss whateverthehellhe'ssaying" 3 or 4 times. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Too bad she can't sing worth a shit. Her warbling reminds me of a cat being fed into a chipper shredder, with a mediocre 11th grade choir alto singing along.

The GREAT thing about The Ketchup Song is that its dance is like The Macarena's: You can do it to any song in 4/4 time. Pop, Rap, Death Metal, Techno. It's all good. I got told off in my local metal club for doing the Macarena to Dragula. Yeah, I deserved it...

That's just it, I chose REM over them (and don't regret it) I've seen their performance on TV since, and it looks like it would be a lot better if you were actually there, but the songs just never grabbed me in the first place, and how the hell can they be such a great live band if one of their characteristics is a famously awful vocalist? Oh well, a lot of my friends loved it, whatever.
