Just saw T3.....

Recommended Posts

Guest ShamRock

Well, T3 is coming out this week and I'm excited about it. I read some good reviews and some bad ones. The good ones praise the action scenes, while the bad ones bash the plot holes.

Is anybody seeing it besides me?

The gf wants to see it, therefore I will be seeing it (insert whipping noise here). I don't expect it to blow me away, so I'm hoping that I'll be pleasantly surprised. If not, it better be one of those "so bad it's good" movies...

I had wanted to see it, but the previews look bad, so I don't know now.

Actually, the previews are what sold me on seeing T3. I may try to see an advanced showing tommorrow night.

I'll see it. Heck, I've read a few pretty good reviews of the flick. Check it out at RottenTomatoes.com if you care.

Rental. No James Cameron? Plot that seemingly doesn't make any sense thanks to the ending of the previous movie? No actor from the original except for Arnold? Rental.

Must see it. I'm trying to be optimistic after the rumblings of bad reviews I'm hearing about.

Being 9 at the time, does anyone remember what the reviews were like for T2? I thought that was arguably better than the first on some levels.

Since 2004 being the 20th anniversary of Terminator, does anybody else think that they're gonna release a box set?

I didn't have any interest in seeing this movie until I saw how good the trailers looked. But I would've seen it anyway just to try to help Mostow get a hit and make Cameron look dumb. Though he does a pretty good job of that himself most of the time. All the reviews I've read have been positive. I can't wait.

The trailers got my hyped. I originally scoffed at the idea(no cameron) but from the looks of the trailers, it could actually be good.

T2 got better reviews than The Terminator. Probably *** out of 4, but I'm not willing to wade through microfiches or archives to comfirm that...

They seemingly changed history, but its possible they weren't soon enough.

I'm going to see it tomorrow. I'm having my doubts about the movie, but I hope for the best.

True, true. I'd like to change my vote to "Second-Run Theater."

Not only is there a second-run theater up the street from me, but I also know the people that work there (all but three of 'em, actually), so I can both get in cheaper than usual (tickets are usually $6 at night, $4 matinee) and without ID (because they all know I'm 17).

You want a cookie or something?

I was going to see it anyways, because I thought it'd be laughably bad, but with all the positive reviews, I'm thinking it might at least provide some good action scenes. For the most part I still think that it will be mind-numbingly bad however...

Impressive. Did you happen to catch how many reviews they had at the time?

Isn't it conceivable that the computer guy's kid created the chip/processor thing that sets up computers taking over?

The ending of T2 was left open for a T3 to be made.

When Sarah and John destroyed the chip and terminator arm at the end of T2, Arnold should've disappeared because the chip and terminator arm are what caused Arnold to be created. If those were destroyed, then Arnold should've disappeared a la Back to the Future when Marty starting fading when it looked like his parents wouldn't hook up. I am not sure what story they cook up as to how the terminators got created, but by that plot hole, they left it open.

True, lad, but every movie with time travel seems to treat it a different way. Some movies have explained that the future is changeable, but anything that travels through time exists "outside" of time (ex. Millenium).

I just came back from a sneak preview of Terminator 3. I won't post any spoilers here, but I will say that there is an explanation given as to how the events in T3 come about.

Overall, I thought that it was a decent action movie. However, I won't be surprised if the movie gets some negative reviews. Some fans of the the first two movies may be disappointed, as there's more emphasis on action than story.

Harry Knowles gave a positive review.

Also, if they stopped Judgement Day in T2, wouldn't John Conner have been erased from existence?
