Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 ***I know this is suppose to be in Fantasy Booking, but I don't believe enough people go there to make an intresting discussion. But, feel free to move it there if you must.*** Main Event, WWE Championship: Chris Benoit vs. Brock Lesnar © vs. Kurt Angle. (After Vengeance, Brock & Angle go their seperate ways on the SD brand, but still remain friends. Brock would remain champion all the way until Mania. Eventually, Angle & Lesnar have a falling out after a returning Paul Heyman rejoins Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series and screws over Chris Benoit in their one on one match. Ironic....Heyman turns on Brock at the Survivor Series before, and rejoins him one year later. Brock can do an interview saying that he went through everyone for over a year with no problem, but Chris Benoit was his toughest oppenent and he knew that if he wanted to beat him, he needed to go back to his roots...under the guidance of Heyman. This enrages Angle, and Lesnar and Angle have a falling out. Benoit co-wins the Rumble (I'll explain more later) and you set up the rematch between Benoit/Brock. Brock isn't too excited about facing Benoit, so he challenges Angle to be in the mix as well, which Angle gladly accepts. Over the few weeks before Mania, Angle/Benoit have a friendship that's remained for months, but that's starting to fallout because of the want for the championship (And Heyman's pyschological mindgames to turn both Angle & Benoit against each other) until Mania finally comes around, with all 3 men hating each other just because they want to be champion.) World Heavyweight Championship: HHH © vs. Chris Jericho (HHH really has no one left on the Raw Brand. He's beaten Goldberg (who is no longer with the company), Mick Foley, a returning Steve Austin, and the recently debuting Sting. When the Rumble rolls around, HHH realizes there is nothing left for him. On the other hand, Chris Jericho has recently been respecting the fans much more and quickly becomes a fan favorite right around late December. So the when the Rumble rolls around, the 2 final men are Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit, both faces and this is also their first confrontation in months. They battle it out, and they do a Bret/Luger finish where both land at the same time. Due to the prior stipulation and since both are from different brands, both are co-winners and both get title shots at their respected brand's title (I already explained Benoit above.) So then you just bring up the past of HHH vs. Jericho, including Jericho beating HHH for the WWF title years ago, and that nicely sets up their match...considering Jericho is one of the few people not to be totally buried by HHH...in some time. And he would be a fresh babyface to the mix.) Hulk Hogan vs. Steve Austin: (Hogan left the WWE in July after creative differences, but realizes that he was beyond the point of being able to be in the ring anymore and that he needs to end his career...in the WWE. Meanwhile, Steve Austin stays as the GM for all of 2003, but near the end decides to come back after HHH's world title, but falls short. Austin, who has the love like no other for the business, realizes that he can't possibly go anymore in the ring and that he needs to have one final match in the WWE. Since Hogan was fired from Smackdown!, Bischoff signs Hogan to a Raw contract in early 2004 and setups the match between the 2. They both have the huge confrontation on Raw (much like Rock/Hogan from 2002) and it sets up their match. Sure it won't be pretty, but it would be quite fitting and I think a lot of people want to see it.) Vince McMahon vs. Mick Foley: (Foley returned to the WWE in June to be the special ref at Bad Blood, but quickly left after having a wonderful tribute in MSG. He did state he would be back again some day, which came true as he came back in Late November, in excellent shape. This time, Foley was here to wrestle. Foley quickly got the challenge for HHH's world title, and the two meet at the Royal Rumble in which HHH retains after a bloody match....even on par to their match 4 years prior. On one Raw, Vince McMahon does some type of attack on Foley (remember, they never settled their feud with Foley left the WWE) that restarts their feud. I won't go into too much detail, but the history is there so it should setup nicely.) Sting vs. Shawn Michaels (I'm not going to bother copying what the guy on PWTorch.com just posted because that's where I took the idea from, so feel free to go there and read it.) The Rock vs. John Cena (Rock returns to the WWE before Wrestlemania (I'm not sure when he can again as far as his movies go...so I can't really give you an idea time frame), but this time decides to stay on Smackdown. John Cena quickly approaches Rock and the two set up a feud. The mic work would be excellent, Cena could use a big match like this against someone like Rock, and Rock will draw people against whoever....it could be against a trashcan and people would pay money.) Undertaker vs. Rhyno (Rhyno turns heel and feuds with Benoit for a bit, and eventually stays as a mid-card heel for a while. On the other hand, Undertaker spends the rest of the year wrestling younger talent as a big mid-card babyface. They eventually clash, and their feud is setup...and the match should probably be pretty decent as well.) Now....I'm not sure for whatelse. Possiblity could be Edge & Christian vs. TAFKA Team Angle, but who knows when Edge will be back. So feel free to add to my card, or list an entirely different card for yourself. Undertaker vs. Rhyno (Undertaker
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 4, 2003 The Mania main event should NOT be a three-way. It should be a traditional one on one match. I don't want matches that won't help the company in the long run like Vince v. Foley, HBK v. Sting (Trust me- that would suck) and Austin v. Hogan. I would rather Vince do a legends ceremony a la Badd Blood
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Okay....so make the Mania main event Brock vs. Benoit. Tell me what you do with Angle. And also, Bob, Hogan vs. Austin obviously won't help the company in the long run....it's a double retirement match. And Sting vs. HBK has potential, serious potential. And how does a legends ceremony help the company in the long run? Sure it's nice, but you can do that when all these guys are 70 years old. If they can still perform and bring in the $$$, then let them go nuts.

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I make the Mania main a Brock v. Angle rematch personally. You could do the big time mega blowoff to Rhyno v. Benoit at Mania
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Given the way they are already building up Mania, I could see them slightly tinkering with the format. I think it could be more of an exhibition, with some big big matches on top with legends and so forth (retirement matches for Austin etc.) and a lot of those who carry the company week in, week out being shunted in a 10 man tag or something. I am cool either way, as I got my ringside ticket on Tuesday!
Guest Coffey Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Wrestlemania always seems to have at least one gimmick match. The main event has to be one on one with no gimmick. It just feels right. All the belts need to be on the line, and the face has to go over in the last match. At least that's how I feel. As far as matches are concerned, it's too early for me to try to make a card. I don't know who will be brought in or brought up. I don't know who will be released or fired. It's just too early to tell.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 4, 2003 With such HYPE...I wouldn't be shocked if Vince goes SUPERBOWL like on us and goes for an BALLS OUT production with an 5 hour show with an Half-time show from an major rock band..Loaded with Special Attractions and celebs... I can already see the Enterance...The PPV layout...the short walkway from the EXIT side... The Cross Logo with a ramp/walkway emergering from middle of the XX's... Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Brock Lesnar Vs. Chris Benoit for the WWE Championship I agree with Stone Cold Vs. Hulk Hogan. The BIGGEST WWE Stars of all time, double retirement match for both men! Vince McMahon Vs. Mick Foley would be cool. Makes perfect sense. Rob Van Dam Vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title, HHH would have suffered another injury before WM therefore being stripped of the title and not making it. Shawn Michaels Vs. The Rock because they're both popularly and its never been done. The Undertaker Vs. Rhyno Booker T Vs. Kane for the IC title Edge Vs. Matt Hardy for the US title Victoria Vs. Jazz for the Women's Title Christian Vs. John Cena A-Train Vs. Big Show = Heat Match (Tag Team division on both shows are so fucked up I can't put down 2 possible matches.) Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I agree with Stone Cold Vs. Hulk Hogan. The BIGGEST WWE Stars of all time, double retirement match for both men! Considering how fucked up Austin's neck and Hogan in general- This match will be a major dissapointment as neither guy would be able to do anything. Vince McMahon Vs. Mick Foley would be cool. Makes perfect sense. Considering Vince v. Hogan drew peanuts- I don't see how this match would do well. I'd rather Mick stayed retired rather then killing himself for no reason. Rob Van Dam Vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title, HHH would have suffered another injury before WM therefore being stripped of the title and not making it. I'd rather HHH lose the title then have it be stripped from him- it'll have to happen one day right? Y2J and RVD have fought each other about 12,000 times. We don't need to see it again. Shawn Michaels Vs. The Rock because they're both popularly and its never been done. It's a pointless match. Both guys should be used to elevate people- not face each other. The Undertaker Vs. Rhyno I don't want Rhyno to job to Taker and at this point- it's pointless to end Taker's streak. Do what they did this year and just have Taker in a meaningless lower midcard match. Booker T Vs. Kane for the IC title Poor Booker. Christian Vs. John Cena This is Wrestlemania XX. A match with the potential to be that bad should not be on the show. Where is Kurt Angle btw? Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 4, 2003 The main should be a straight up Angle/Lesnar rematch. Just those two, no idiocy and no added man.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Absolutely right. Angle should go over clean here ending Lesnar's nearly one year title reign Or if you want to give Angle the belt (soon) for him to lose it again when Brock turns heel and then win it again at Mania. Either way

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I think the WWE is gunna do Brock/Angle II before Mania, to be honest. I see Mania being Brock/Angle III. Brock wins one, Angle wins one (Angle loses the belt to Brock in a 3xthreat match or something) and now the rubber match.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I think the WWE is gunna do Brock/Angle II before Mania, to be honest. I can see Brock/Angle at SS. My card: Main Event: WWE Title Brock Lesnar© vs Kurt Angle - Brock has a 1 year run and turns heel at Survivor Series and Kurt beats him clean in the middle of the ring. "Legends Match" Steve Austin vs Hulk Hogan - It's MSG so I'd put Hogan over clean in a double retirement match. Raw Title Booker T vs Chris Jericho© - Jericho ended HHH's long World title run in a heel/heel match and now Book goes over clean in his last WM. US Title Chris Benoit vs John Cena - The winner faces Angle at JD. Benoit goes over clean and finally gets belt in a face/face match at JD and wins both belts ala Warrior at WM6. Tag Team Title Interpromotional Match The Dudley Boyz© vs The Best Damn Tag Team Period© - The two brands champs meet in a unification match with the TBDTTP going over. Cruiserweight Title Match Ultimo Dragon© vs Rey Mysterio Jr. - Ultimo took Rey's belt at SS and since they've had a slow burn feud building to a clean Rey victory. The Rock vs Rob Van Dam - Rock gives RVD the rub by putting him over clean. Shawn Michaels vs Matt Hardy - HBK and Matt start a feud in the Rumble and it builds for two months with promos until they meet and HBK does the right thing by putting Matt over clean. IC Title Kane vs Triple H - Kane maybe costs HHH the belt and they feud. Kane is IC champ and it leads ot this with Kane going over clean. Interpromotional 6 Man Le Resistanse & Lance Strom vs Undertaker & Some other US team not named APA - Taker goes over clean in a pro-USA moment and retires with his streak intact. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 4, 2003 SD Title: Brock Lesnar vs Stone Cold Steve Austin (Lesnar makes an open challenge to anyone of any brand) Raw Title: HHH vs Mick Foley (these two have that Rock/Austin magic [even in HHH's current state] that could set up a great rematch) Kurt Angle vs John Cena (Cena raps on Angle's cred, Angle goes into INTENSE SERIOUS BABYFACE GOLD MEDALIST. Anglesault masturbates furiously.) IC Title: Christian vs Booker T vs Chris Jericho (Jericho carries the match, Booker finally gets Singles gold) Goldberg vs Kane (Both men try and fail to intimidate each other in the weeks leading up to the match. Both guys begin selling more and more as they wear each other down. Sports-Entertainment Finish as Kane gives F.Goldberg the Chokeslam From Hell through the ring. The ring is "fixed" while the rock concert group of the year performs) Raw Tag Champs vs SmackDown Tag Champs: Haas/Benjamin vs RVD & The Hurricane (because the French thing is going to wear itself thin VERY fast) Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio vs Ultimo Dragon ....And that's all I can think of for now. Guest MideonMark Report post Posted July 5, 2003 Bear in mind that these matches are booked on the basis that the rosters have been re-aligned and belts have been unified(IC/US, WWE/World, Tag belts) 1. WWE Title-Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar©-(Brock turns heel at Summerslam, holds the belt until Mania and unified the belts before Mania. Angle enters the Rumble No.1, wins it, beats Brock clean at Mania) 2. Double Retirement-Hulk Hogan vs Steve Austin-(Austin beats him clean, they share beers, pose, fans are happy) 3. John Cena vs The Rock-(Rock puts a face Cena over) 4. Rhyno vs The Undertaker-(Heel Rhyno injures Taker at Royal Rumble. Its announced a returning Taker will face Rhyno at Mania. Taker returns as the Deadman with Paul Bearer, wrestles for another month, before retiring at Backlash) 5. Tag Titles-Haas/Benjamin© vs Booker T/Goldust-(Had to put Booker in somewhere. BookDust take the belts after a long reign by Haas/Benjamin) 6. CW Title 2/3 falls-Rey Mysterio vs Ultimo Dragon©-(Ultimo beats Rey at Summerslam, turns heel sometime before Mania. Ultimo holds the belt until Mania, face Rey beats him for the belt) 7. IC Title-Rob Van Dam vs Eddy Guerrero©-(Heel Eddy had already unified the US/IC belts, beats RVD through nefarious means, continuing their feud) 8. Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit-(Heel Jericho vs Face Benoit, cause that would be a fresh matchup, and I love their matches) 9. Triple H/Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels/Mick Foley-(Dont ask me why I thought up this one. But anyway Flair turns on HHH here, turning face, before facing Angle in his retirement match at Backlash, Angle beats him clean) 10. some token Womens Title match-Trish vs Gail Kim vs Lita, or something like that I'd definately pay to see this card, if I dont mind saying so myself

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2003 1. WWE Title-Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar©- (Brock turns heel at Summerslam, holds the belt until Mania and unified the belts before Mania. Angle enters the Rumble No.1, wins it, beats Brock clean at Mania) You know had Big Show not been a clumsy oaf and break's Brock rib, I think Brock would have retained the title until WM XIX. With face Angle winning the Rumble so Angle / Lesnar at WM would have still happened. I'm VERY certain that's what the original plan was before they had to come up with the Heyman screwjob. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 5, 2003 Wrestlemania XX New York City- Madison Square Garden Cruiserweight title Match Rey Mysterio Vs Ultimo Dragon © *This would the Ultimate cultimation in Mysterio's Quest to get back the Title that was stolen from him...Dragon turned heel after a Tag Match with Mysterio against Haas and Benjamin. Thus taking Mysterio out for six weeks (Give the guy rest) The title is vacated for a Six Man Dance at Survivor Series with Dragon winning the title over Spanky, Kidman, Nunzio, Moore and Knoble. Mysterio returns the smackdown after and challenges Dragon but dragon denys a shot. Mysterio is forced to wrestle a 3 Way at Armagededdon against Knoble and Spanky. He has the match won but Dragon interferes and cost Mysterio the match...Mysterio in time gets the title shot deal at Mania. This is the blowoff. Mysterio wins via Hip Hop Drop (Springboard Leg drop) Randy Orton Vs Scott Steiner *Simple old school Buildup used to put the star of the future on the show. Orton goes over clean. World Tag Team Title Match Nowinksi/Regal Vs Dreamer/Snow *Nowinski and William Regal pair up as kindered spirits sometime around the fall and take the titles away from Dudleyz at Series. They beat all the other teams until Al Snow and Dreamer do the Hardcore legends sell (ala Funk/Foley) and chase the titles. Woman's Title Match Steel Cage Gail Kim © Vs Trish Stratus *Gail Kim turned heel at some point and avoids Stratus until WMXX and to keep interference away (as has been the case for the previous encounters) they set up the first ever WOMAN'S Steel Cage Match. The Undertaker Vs Matt Hardy *Simple Build Up. Undertaker is the Wise old Vetern and Matt Hardy is the Cocky Young Punk. Taker Goes over for the continued streak. I.C Title Match Lance Storm © Vs Booker T *Lance Storm gets the title around Winter and is given an Angle similar to his WCW one but not completely TEAM CANADA and is once again a good Mid-card heel and Booker FINALLY gets the I.C title I Quit Match Edge Vs Chris Benoit *Should Edge return by WMXX...Edge returns And is the fun loving Face that Benoit takes offense to and thus sets up an angle between the two. Benoit puts the undefeated Edge over here. United States Title Match John Cena © Vs Rhyno *Cena. At this point is nearing ROCK-LEVELS of stardom (1998 rock mind you). Rhyno is Heyman's Pet (on and off screen) and Cena has to fight to hell to keep his US title. WWE Tag Team Title Match 2/3 Falls Match The Best Damn Tag Team Period © Vs Los Guerreros *Los Guerreros Reunite when Chavo returns early Janurary and thus they return as Faces and gun for their long hated rivals in TBDTTP. 2/3 just to spice it up. Triple H Vs The Rock *Triple H whom suffers a Slight injury that forces him to drop the title to RVD on a HUGE Monday Night Show around November. HHH returns Around after Rumble. WWE decides that the RVD/Jericho fued is too hot to toss aside. WWE offers HHH to wrestle the Rock. They don't need a angle here...they got "unfinished business" and that is good enough for the sell. World Title Match Rob Van Dam © Vs Chris Jericho *Rob Van Dam was given the title on a HUGE RAW MAIN event after HHH suffers his injury. Lacking major Heels to oppose RVD...Jericho is clearly the #1 choice. They think Jericho needs more rub and give him the rumble victory and Jericho is booked STRONG going into Mania...and he walks away the champion leaving MSG STUNNED. WWE TITLE MATCH Kurt Angle © Vs Brock Lesnar *Lesnar turned Heel at Summer Slam by reuniting with Heyman because of his increase Paranoia over Angle. He holds onto the title keeping Angle away from it...MEGA FACE Angle finally gets his one and only shot at Lesnar here and it pays off....
