Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 I know they wouldn't be an 'Ignorance' band dude I'll look into them.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Widespread Panic is a "jam" (read: "ghey") band in the states. And yes, Rammstien would be well served to be on the list. Maybe Widespread Panic could add a big-ass flamethrower to help them control their "ghey". Evidently the whole 'well-played song' thing isn't working out for them.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 There's nothing a flamethrower can't fix is there?
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 There's nothing a flamethrower can't fix is there? Helped KISS for the last 30 years.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 No PINK FLOYD? Yeah, because they gig like they're on speed right now...
Paul Stanley Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 There's nothing a flamethrower can't fix is there? Helped KISS for the last 30 years. KISS used more than flamethrowers though, besides they were one of the first bands that used fire in their stage show.
Guest Nanks Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 RHCP is just fucking dull. Who in their right mind puts them on a Best Live Act list?? That is ridiculous. The Offspring is still the best live show I've seen. But we don't get many good shows down here.
Guest What? Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 no Clapton? BAH! and The Rolling Stones at dead last?! DID THEY INTERVIEW BLIND AND DEAF RETARDS?! FUCK ROLLING STONE! They nearly fucked up Jim Greco's skate career, and now they have the gall to say The Stones have a worse live show than Dave FUCKING Matthews?! Oh, I am PISSED!
Guest HellSpawn Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Let me get this straight... NO KISS. NO Aerosmith. No Judas Priest. NO KISS. No Iron Maiden. WOW, thats a Great list.
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 at least there is some common sense, that Nirvana was not on there

RHCP have always been KNOWN for their live acts, I thought... and from the live performances that I've seen via video and the like, they've always seemed awesome. Though I could see how they'd be hit or miss, really. They always have been, in pretty much everything they do.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Red Hot Chili Peppers were SOOOOOO BAD. I saw them with STP playing before them and Fishbone opening and both bands blew the Peppers out of the water. People left halfway through the set and then every review I read was all about how bad they sucked. Top 20? My ass.

Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 The two best live acts I've ever seen are Aerosmith and Tool. Both were great.
Guest KANE Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 True. I saw Foo Fighters open for RHCP, and the Foos completely outclassed them.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 RHCP is very hit or miss. From all the live vids I've seen, it seems as if Dream Theater is the best live band ever. I still can't believe I missed the chance to see them because my friend was being a jackass. It's not like he didn't want to see them, there were surrounding factors. Hell, he's a drummer, so everytime he sees Portnoy his balls split in half. He has to watch Coldplay Concert footage to put them back together. Plus Fates Warning and Queensryche? I missed the Barrie show, so I guess there's always next year?
Guest whatitistoburn Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Bands That Should Have Gotten Love: Rammstein. Dredg. Marilyn Manson. Green Day.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I beg to differ on Green Day. I saw them about two years back, and they were absolutely wretched.
Guest pochorenella Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 No Kiss on this Poll makes it totally worthless for me.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 What's with all the Rammstein love? Does the fact that the lead singer sticks a flaming spiked dildo up his ass on stage make it an experience to savour?
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Kiss not being on the list is a good thing. Ohhhh pyro and spitting fake blood, great show. Please. They stand their like old men while putting nothing even close to emotion into the songs, letting the idiot masses be visually "stunned" by a second rate 4th of July pyro show. I personally think Zombie, Manson and even Rammstein do the whole stage show better because at the end of the night, the performers themselves are still energetic as hell and actually put some effort into their actual performances. They don't just stand back and halfheartedly run through songs while shit blows up, which is exactly what Kiss does. Ah, rant over.
Guest Nanks Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 RHCP headlined a big festival down in Australia called Big Day Out in 2000. Below them on the card were bands like Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Primal Scream, The Hellacopters, Grinspoon, 28 Days & Jebediah, to name a few, and out of all of them I picked RHCP as the dullest.

Yes, see... what I'm referring to, is the Chili Peppers in concert back in the early 90's/80's. They're not nearly as good as they were music-wise nowadays, but as for live shows... well, the Chili Peppers gained their popularity based SOLELY on their live shows back when they were first starting out, so I'd say they had to be doing something right. Their Saturday Night Live performances are awesome, actually... just to name something that most people probably have seen. ...And hey, that reminds me... what about one of Mike Patton's bands? Faith No More's SNL performance was fucking GODLY, man.
Guest Nanks Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 That's fine, but surely this list is of CURRENT-DAY best live shows. The point everyone is making is that they are no longer one fo the best live acts going around. Many of the omissions posters have brought up are the same. I would suggest this would explain Nirvana's absence
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I would suggest this would explain Nirvana's absence No. Nirvana was just bad. Period.

Guest The Hamburglar Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Yes... though U2 got #1... and they're about ten years past THEIR prime... Have you seen a U2 live show recently? The Elevation Tour quite simply ruled. Twas jizz-worthy.
