Guest Bosstones Fan Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Terry Taylor and Bobby Eaton had a series of **** star matches around '91/'92, if I remember correctly. I was 12 or 13 at the time and just beginning to cut my wrestling teeth, but I remember being wowed by the way they seemed to just fly effortlessly around the ring.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Sting and Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair and Steve Austin, summer of '94. Malenko and Guerrero went out there for nearly a half hour, shortly after their debut.
Guest Askewniverse Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 There was an awesome Pillman vs. Flair match in the early 1990's. I can't remember the exact date, but I think that it was around February 1990.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I remember reading about a great match thrown together at the last second between Great Muta and Brad Armstrong that was around ****.
Guest Hass of Pain Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Saturday Night had an AWESOME string for like two months where they were throwing everything out there. The match that sticks out most to me was Flair vs. Sting from 93/94, a huge match that was unprecented for Saturday Night at the time.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I don't remember if this was any good from a Smark standpoint, but since I dodn't have cable, I marked out when WCW Worldwide showed an Austin vs. Sting US Title Match shortly after the Blondes breaking up. Austin got the DQ win when Pillman ran in to chase Col. Parker. I had it on tape until about 5 years ago.
Guest Loss4Words Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Flair v Steamboat was on 05/14/94. I'm not sure about the dates on the Taylor/Eaton matches. Sting & Ricky Steamboat v Ric Flair & Steve Austin was on 07/30/94. Ric Flair v Brian Pillman was on 02/17/90. Muta v Armstrong I'm not quite sure about. Austin v Sting was indeed an outstanding match, quite possibly the last great match Sting ever had. It aired in April of 1995, but I'll be damned if I can't remember the date. That last one is really bugging me, because the rest of these dates were off the top of my head and I would have known that one without even thinking about it just a few years ago.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I know the Austin/Sting match you're talking about Loss4Words. It was when Austin was on his way out and he jobbed clean to the Scorpion Deathlock. It was very shortly before the US Title Tournament began. I actually had cable then, so I got to see it as it aired and had that match taped as well. The one I was thinking of had to be in late 1993-early 1994 because Austin was fresh off of winning his US Title and feuding w/ Pillman.
Guest wildpegasus Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Benoit vs Eddy Guerrero WCWSN Nov 95- Awesome match
Guest JHawk Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 The Sting-Flair match was the last official NWA World Title match to ever air on TBS, airdate 8/21/1993 (and taped 8/2 if I'm not mistaken). An excellent match. Steve Austin and Barry Windham had a pretty good series in the spring of 1992, one of them being two out of three falls. There was also an excellent Larry Zbyszko-Lord Steven Regal match I have on tape (5/28/1994) that went like 20 minutes and actually had about two minutes shown on a second show in order to fit it in.
EL DANDY~! Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Steve Regal vs. Fit Finlay in 95-Stiff as all hell and if you like Finlay hitting the tombstone on the floor to Regal, you better watch this match. I loved it. I remember Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham having a dandy of a match (PUN~!) with Steve Williams and Terry Gordy in 92 shortly after the MVC unified the NWA and WCW World Tag Titles. Longish 40 minute match that was just beautiful to watch.
Guest Graham R Tripp Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I remember a match just after the real life AA and Sid Vicious scissors incident. It was supposed to be Stunning Steve Austin and Vader vs Ric Flair and Sid Vicious but Sid was stretchered at the start ( from memory ) and his replacement was AA himself. This match went close to 30 mins and the finish only just made it on air. I reckon it was a legit ****1/4 to ****1/2 match. AA was absolutely incredible in this match and showed why he was one of the very best wrestlers of his generation.
Guest slabinskia Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 does anyone now where i can get some of these matches or someone who has most of the wcwsn shows ?
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 the Flair vs. Steamboat was one of the best TV matchers I have ever seen. Also one of my fav's was Steamboat/Eddie Gilbert vs. Flair/Windam

I remember they ran this thing where they had a red locker room and a blue locker room and you could call up the WCW hotline and vote on who you wanted to see wrestle, picking one guy from each locker room. I remember that Sting and Flair one and faced off in the main event.
