The Coolest thing you've ever done in a video game

Recommended Posts

Guest Prototype450

GTA3-I decapitated a cop with a shotgun. I just stared at the screen in disbelief.

Mat Hoffman BMX 2- 720 NO handed Superman. That's not possible at all.

Enter The Matrix- A gave an Agent an Uppercut..............off of the half built skyscraper. That was so sweet

Smackdown 4- SuperPowerbomb off the HIAC through the spanish announce table.

So what are the coolest things you've done in a video game?

Nothing...and I mean NOTHING will come even CLOSE to this for me.

Playing Quake 2 a couple of years back, I became a master at the railgun, mostly because of my awesome mouse controls.

There's a multiplayer "Deathmatch" stage where there are multiple levels and an elevator that leads to the top. I'm at the top level and someone shoots a rocket at me which crashes beside me and causes severe damage. I've got about 5 health left. So...what do I do?

I jump off the top of the stage...knowingly falling about 6 levels down...

and I shoot and kill three guys on the way down...TURN AROUND WHILE FALLING and shoot the rocket motherfucker like Trinity in the Matrix Reloaded in the first scene....

I've NEVER...EVER seen that duplicated anywhere! You have NO idea of the precision it took to accomplish that....

Not the coolest thing. But my favorite thing in Vice City is to stand on the hood of a moving car and gun people down on the side of the road. Even more fun when the cops are chasing you.

Either my 107 yard kickoff return with 1 second left in Madden 2003 with me down by 8 points in the superbowl. AND I was playing on ALL Madden level so you KNOW how damn impossible that was. I used every move possible to get it including a sweet stiff arm on the kicker and a hurdle over this way to fast to be believed guy that came from behind me. I lost because I missed the two, but it was a thing of beauty.

The second would be in NBA2K3. I play 12 minute quarters. I had the phoenix suns in Franchise mode. My team is Jason Kidd, Peja, Dirk, Amare Stodimire and Nikoli Tsilisvili. We are down 30 fucking points in the 3rd quarter as everyone is cold as ice except Amare who has about 30 points and 20 rebounds at this point. Then came the most amazing one man display ever as I blocked the next 11 shots in a row..6 by Amare. Then Dirk went ape shit, hitting everything he threw up, and if he missed, Stodimire got the board and kicked it back out.

In the end, I win by a last second 3 by...Amare Stodimire to win by one. He finished with 56 pts, 32 rebounds, 11 blocks, 10 steals and 15 assist. The greatest basketball game I ever sawed.

Either the time I hurricanraned someone down a flight of stairs wth King in Tekken 4

or

Pushing HHH of a ladder from inside the ring to the outside of the ring and through a table with stairs and chairs on it- the sickest thing I've ever done on No Mercy

or

Any bit of drive by shooting in Vice City whilst listening to some of that cheesy crap on wave 103

I've had some pretty awesome stuff happen in GTA 3. I remember so clearly one time I had boosted a cop car and had the driving cheat on and I was at five stairs- two FBI cars charging at me by the river part of the first island and I used the cheat to leap into the air and the other FBI cars flew into the water. I've done some really cool stuff in GTA 3.

Oh, heh, INSANE punt returns in Blitz for N64 for the win. Angers the hell out of whoever's playing me. Mostly luck.

A lot of shit in No Mercy and Madden 2003, but I can't remember exact things.

In GTA3 for PC, I remember the bank robbing mission where you were the getaway driver... just the the robbers shoot up the place, "Criminal" by Eminem starts. That was fucking awesome.

Oh, and Ripper... you suck at NBA 2K3. When I play (which is rare -- I usually watch simmed games), I own that game.

I was on a ferry (it's like this boat) and played Tekken 4 against my friend. His health bar was filled and if I had gotten one more hit, I'd be dead but, I was King and pulled off several moves like suplexes and stuff and beat him. It was a great comeback.

even though I did some great stuff in live 2001, nothing compares to the triple alley-oop I pulled off in live 96...

I'm playing the Magic and my CAP shooting guard comes screaming down the lane. A computer player jumps up in my path and I don;t want the shot blocked, so I dish the ball off to Horace Grant, who is oopin my alley. Another CPU player goes to block his junk, so I dish off onto the right side of the lane and Penny catches it and slams it home with a third oop. I about orgasmed right then and there.

I think I replayed that play like a dozen times, be cause I could not believe what I just did.

Looking back, some of my best game play comes at about 2 or 3 am

Bust-a-Groove: Played what I think is a perfect game: Did all the hardest combos and never missed, dodged every attack, never attacked back. Not supremely hard, but my friend was aghast watching me.

Also, though I have rhythm, I'm also a clumsy oaf, so I pretty much suck at DDR. However, my first time playing Samba De Amigo, I ripped it apart, with all my friends in disbelief.

Also at college, we were at a pre-party playing Soul Calibur. We were doing team battles, random select, with teams of 4 switching off when each member lost. I had played the game, in my life, probably an hour total. I was doing pretty well, and people were getting peeved. I got 1st player and Voldo and ran through the other team. Next match I got 1st player and Sophitia and ran through all 8 guys again. (keep in mind I was playing against the guys that owned it too.) I was officially banned from Soul Calibur for all time out of respect/disgust.

Comebacks are the shit, man.

In Season 1 of my NCAA Football 2003 Franchise with USC, Carson Palmer had gotten hurt, out for 8 weeks. With Brandon Hance at QB I won 8 straight games to go 11-3 and qualify for the Rose Bowl. I'm playing Michigan. They jump out to a 38-7 halftime lead. I needed some way to rally the troops. I thought veteran leadership would help. So I put Palmer back in the lineup. In his final game as a Trojan, Carson leads the Cardinal & Gold to an unbelievable comeback. We started slowly, bringing the score to 44-21 after 3. Then SC scored 24 unanswered points in the 4th to win 45-44. Talk about inspiration.

the coolest things for me would be in 7th grade i was at central michigan's basketball camp and they had a wcw nitro tourney and i had never played the game because well my brother rented it and once i saw flair do a hurricanrana i immediately thought "this shit sucks". Well anyway i decided to play and i chose chris benoit. I beat my roommate in the first round, some kid with messed up shoes in the second and i got to the finals. It was me vs some kid playing as DDP. I got my ass kicked before i went outside and taunted to get my energy back up while the kid just stood there. I had everyone chanting "Benoit, Benoit" as i beat the kid with a german suplex.

The other sweet thing was about a week ago i was playing my brother in no mercy in a 30 minute iron man and he kicked my ass and took the first two falls. He was in control and headed towards a third straight fall when i proceeded to kick his ass. I was Benoit and i reversed everyone of his moves while he couldnt stop me at all. I worked over his entire body and i went on to win 15 straight falls. I had 13 submissions and 2 pins and every time we have played since i bring up the fact i beat him 15-2 and he nearly cries in anger.

Stupid "Catch a toy in a crane" game - Won about 6 stuffed animals in one sitting. Only failed twice?

Killer Instinct - Beat my friend with an Ultra Combo...... While button mashing.

Various FPS Games - I can get a powerup run in my head subconciously without even knowing it and find myself running around in circles get every powerup as it spawns in, killing people with damage doublers, 100+ health, 100 armor, etc.

Quake - Logged on a server where "Thresh" (a crazy super Quake player who made tons of money and a Ferarri in tourneys) was playing and watched him blow himself up with the rocket launcher

StarCraft - Destroyed a battle.net player with nothing but Protoss Probes (resource gathering peons)

WarCraft III - Played a 3v3 team game with some friends who were playing like jackasses for fun, in this case all we used were dwarves (dwarven gyrocopter, dwarven demoliton squad, dwarven hero) and using towers for defense against three appearant idiots who were trying to play seriously. We won.

Microsoft Flight Simulator - Flying Air Force One upside-down takes mad skillz, yo.

We were at an arcade and I was chatting up this girl while playing Tekken with my buddy. I spent most of the time looking away from the screen and just playing on autopilot. I wasn't really paying attention to anything but the girl, and I finally got her number and she went off. I turned back to my buddy who was just red in the face - he'd pumped in about nine quid into the machine trying to beat me while playing with full concentration, and I was just whupping his ass continually.

I did a similar thing playing House of The Dead, where I was having a running conversation with some friends behind me who would occasionally shout "LOOK THE FUCK OUT" and I'd spin round and pull off some crazy John Woo shots.

Oh, and does making a perfect GoD Bruce Lee in VPW2 count? :)

DDR: A dumb 15 year old wouldn't stop trying to trip me and pull my pants down, so I turned around and kicked him in the groin while still maintaining a combo.

Hopefully I'm not looked down upon for the upcoming drug reference...

About 4 years back three friends and I took mushrooms and spent the entire night playing WCW/NWO for the N64. I started REALLY getting on their nerves, explaining that Flair was God of all wrestling and they were bitches for never choosing him. Finally they decided to have a 3-on-1, where they each picked the Ninja character and I was Flair. Even in my state of awareness, I not only beat all three of them, I embarassed them. They were running into each other left and right, missing me and clotheslining each other. It was beautiful.

Then later I used the ninja but specifically chose the bright pink outfit for him. As we started the 4-Man Battle Royale, I immediately exited the ring and began to run laps around it. At first they barely took notice, but after a couple minutes, all they could see was a bright pink blur around the ring, which then became an actual solid pink circle. Finally all three of them had to go outside and rub their eyes to clear their vision, at which point I pinned them in succession. I would like to think of myself as the true Dirtiest Player in the Game as a result of this tactic. At least while playing against guys who are tripping their balls off.

I was able to beat Wall Street Kid for the NES.

If anyone remembers that game, you'll easily appreciate the fact that I was able to beat it.

Basically I got lucky on the auction at the end and was able to snag it cheap enough that I was able to pay the damn Castle off.

admitedly the game sucks, but I had to beat it just once..

And after playing it for any length of time, you'll end up wanting to bitch slap Prisilla.

If you play enough, they will try to pull some shit on you. The amount of shots you will miss inside will be ungodly and the computer will hit ALL of their shots.

In that game, baron Davis was 9-9 from 3 pt at that point in the game. Nene Fuckin Hilario hit a fade away three to beat the shot clock with TWO guys on him while Jason kidd was missing wide open layups on the other side.

They will rob you when they can. And I STILL never lose. To ANYONE or anything. I will own ANYONE in this game with just about any team.

Back in the day, my friend Wes brought the original Donkey Kong Country over and we made it to one of the last ice stages. Hard one. We're taking turns trying to beat it, I'm tired, and unbeknownst to me, I have the controller. Somehow I beat the entire level without looking at the screen or realizing I have the controller. I have no idea how I did that. At the end, I looked up at the screen and said, "Holy crap, did I just beat the level?"

"Yeah."

"I didn't even know I was playing."

Then late last year I was watching two friend of mine play NCAA 2003 on Mascot Mode. Its Will (stoner dumbass) against William (football playing smartass) and in the third quarter, Will is down by quite a few touchdowns. I forget the actual score, all I know is Will had one touchdown when he gave up and I came in. I picked up the controller and immediately run the kickoff back for a touchdown and keep William from scoring and close enough where I have an advantage when he punts. One touchdown later, William turns the PS2 off (we were either leaving or he was frustrated, I forget).

There's a few more, but its mostly "Matt, beat this game for me!" "I've never played it before!" BOOM~! Beats it.

Yeah, on the "Least cool videogame things...", my friend'r brother was a complete DICK for doing that. We;d be whupping his ass at NBA Jam, WCW/nWo Revenge, Mario Kart, anything really. Just before the moment of his defeat, he'd shout "MEGAWEAPON" and hit the reset button. It got to the point where we had to buy extension leads for the controllers and prop consoles up on top of a shelf where he couldn't reach them in the heat of battle. Then he just took to yanking his pad and pulling the whole console off the shelf, smacking the ground and handily resetting/breaking.

We went through a couple of consoles that way, although I should point out that Nintendo machines seem to have the most resiliant build quality.
