Awww bored you just beat me. I heard it on the wfan about 10 minutes ago. I was going to do a Official baseball july trades post. So far Burnitz, Roberto Alomar Jr. and Carl E. have been traded. Lets make this the official trade post. Especially with the trade deadline in 2 weeks. People post all rumors and trades in this post.

Who would want Jeremy Burnitz and his big fat head?

The Dodgers would take anyone who can make contact with the ball.

Burnitz has 18 home runs and he's missed some time. He's not Bonds, but he's hasn't had a horrible year.

Specify the Diaz, there's two of them.

Wow. Victor Diaz was born on the exact same day I was.

The Dodgers have now signed Rickey Henderson as well.

^ Seriously?

I thought for sure he'd sign with a A.L team...

For those interested heard a rumor tonight that if the A's can get someone to take Terrence Long off their hands they will deal Aaron Harang and two prospects (Esteban German and Bobby Crosby) to the Pirates for Brian Giles. Getting someone stupid enough to take Long and his contract will be a tough task though.

Just went on LA's web site -- it pretty much sums up why Burnitz was needed.

Green and McGriff have 10 homers a piece.

Four others, including the injured Jordan, have 6.

Two others have 5.

Burnitz's 18 is almost more than LA's top two sluggers combined.

Heck, it's almost 1/3 of LA's total home-run production of 59...

So the Dodgers now have 5 starting OF's, including the injured Roberts and Jordan. Now what?

Now hopefully they add up to a hitter or two.

I really don't think a homerun hitter is what you truly need, just a guy who's a consistent hitter and is able to provide runs. There have been many teams that didn't have a "stand-out" homerun hitter and they were quite successful. I'm not fully aware of the Dodgers' situation, but I doubt that getting a homerun hitter is going to change things that much. That said, Burnitz has proven that he's able to not only hit a fair amount of homeruns, but drive in his fair share of runs.

Well no matter what the Dodgers had to add offense. With their pitching it is incredibly hard NOT to make it to the postseason but there offense is about the equal of the Tigers.

The Dodgers desperately needed ANY kind of hitter. Their pitching is the only thing keeping them from the cellar.

A team that has McGriff, Green, Jordan shouldn't be having offensive problems...

Oh well fuck the dodgers anyways.

Jordan is out for the season, and McGriff is injured. I don't trust their starting pitching. They've already lost Dreifort and Brown is very injury prone.

Ah...I don't follow the damn team...Didn't know that shit...

But what's Green's Excuse?

IMO..Green's highly overrated. But he's still a good hitter. What's wrong with him. I have no idea. He's trying to do too much. He's hurt. I don't follow the Dodgers either.

That was a page out of KKK's book. The racials or ethnic slur followed by the long pause and the jk comment.

Burnitz was basically the only thing out there, and as a Yankee fan, the Pirates want to much for Giles as I've heard (I think they asked for Nick Johnson, Juan Rivera, and Brandon Claussen)
