Guest TheBigCalbowski Report post Posted July 17, 2003 Is there anyway to maximize a memory card so that it can carry the maximum number of CAWs on the card? Also if I get a 4X memory card, will it have 72 CAW slots on it? If so, do the third party ones work the same as the official N64 cards?
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2003 As far as I know, you can use the different "slots" of the 4X memory card to copy and transport 4 different sets of CAW's from the card to the cart. I can't confirm this since I have one of the early, crappy copies that keep deleting itself, causing me to get mad and not bother making any CAWs outside of a few I have backed up on the card. River City Rocker 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2003 This is something I've been wondering myself. I always thought it was possible to have more than just eighteen CAWs saved. And I was never crazy about the idea of putting four different wrestlers in the same CAW slot. Now to hunt around for a 4X memory card... -Ben
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted July 20, 2003 As a general rule, third party memory cards aren't the most reliable in the world - of course there are exceptions, but in my fairly extensive experience with different products, official Nintendo or Sony products have never once let me down, whereas Fire, Datel, Logic 3, Thrustmaster and most of the others have lost or corrupted my data. And, for what it's worth, the mega memory cards are geenrally even less reliable. My advice is to get an emulator and rip No Mercy to your PC, then you can have as many CAW slots as you like.
