Friend suggested it. Blockbuster not having it is a big (N)... so I'm still trying to get my hands on a copy...

It's incredible. Absolutely great piece of filmmaking.

I really did not think it was THAT great. It was good but its far overratted IMO. I am going to watch it again next week but I don't think my oppinion will change. Jin-Roh is an EXCELLENT movie and IMO its just as good, if not better than GOTF, but GOTF is good also. LONG LIVE FUCKING ANIME!

I think it's the best anti-war movie ever made. But it's tough to watch it again, because it's just so sad.

whats jin-roh and imo? i've never heard of them, but if you are saying its as good as grave of the fireflies, i have to check them out.

By IMO I meant In My Oppinion....Jin-Roh is a movie set in Japan where the government is trying to take over but many civilians are rioting and so on. The group that is against the governments uses girls named "Red Riders" to go on Suicide missions and blow up bombs because they think that the soldiers will not kill them. One of the soldiers falls in love with a Red Riding Hood. I don't want to give away the ending but its a really excellent movie.

I second the Jin-Roh love. If you like mature, thought-provoking anime you should definitely see it.

Grave of the Fireflies is excellent. A must see movie for anybody.

Jin Roh on the other hand is god awful terrible. Incredibly slow pacing, horrendous dialogue, and an unintersting plot really bring this movie down to unwatchable levels. I know there is a lot of love for this movie online but I really don't get it. It's just bad.

Grave of the Fireflies is a great movie, not just anime, but great overall. Maybe not the best anime of all time (Akira, Mononoke, Ghost In the Shell are better IMO), but pretty close. I could understand some people rejecting the movie because it's too sad.

I've had Jin-Roh and the Wolf Brigade sitting on my shelf for ages. I'm gonna watch it soon. Promise.
