The Benoit legend grows

Get off of Benoits nuts, their isn't room enough for all of you. Some of you are just meshing together and turning the shit into Peanut Butter.

Backstage politics, motivational speeches, all acceptable if done by one of our favorites. Now I'm not here to question the credibilty of the smarkhood, but when it comes to us showing blatant hypocracy, only the Hurricane can sum it up best.

"Wasupwitdat"??

Based on the article, Benoit was only speaking to the people he was working with and all he told them was to get pumped up. I wouldn't compare that to ANYONE giving a motivational speech to the entire roster whether it be postive or not.

Please. When Triple H and Taker give these speeches, it's "Fuck those guys. They shouldn't be saying anything." When Benoit does it, it's "Benoit is God !"

I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a Taker or Triple H fan. But this is just so hypocritical. Some of Benoit's recent matches, excluding the one with Matt Hardy, have been pretty damn sluggish. Almost as sluggish as a Triple H match. But they have two different standards when they give speeches ?

I mean, fine, he gives speeches and all. Good for him. But please:

Stop

The

Hypocrisy

I don't know if this was addressed already or not, but you are failing to realize that Benoit's speech was encouragement......HHH and Taker's speeches were talking down to them and a lot of preaching about crap they didn't follow themselves.

Don't go calling us hypocritical when it's not even the same situation.

I have no problem with Benoit trying to motivate the others, as opposed to HHH/Taker because...

1...Benoit works his ass off much harder than those two. He IS the better wrestler in that group, and is a legitimate veteran wrestler. He's gotten over by his workrater/in ring a bility.

2....I'm betting he doesnt seem as condescending since he's one of the "grunts" of the WWE. He works his ass ou there and doesn't go around playing backstage politics and/or sleeping with Steph to keep his push.

No, HHH works his ass off, he just doesn't have it anymore. BIG difference.

How big you ask?

If he wasn't working he'd be more like Kevin Nash. Be thankful he does work.

If HHH could just stick to simple words of encouragement and offer advice on how to go about setting up a match (with the younger guys) the IWC would have no problem with that.

Instead, he, along with "other locker room leaders", are attempting to blame a rough spot on the WWE finances on the younger workers themselves - "You're not working hard enough" - "You don't seem to be motivated in the ring".

Commiting adultery years ago has nothing to do with what he does as a worker and a backstage presence. I felt that comment was way off topic and just a remark to spite those who replied with "Beniot is GOd" comments.

Those who compare him with Crips/Taker are also just to spite those who think Benoit is God. The post was talking about Benoit giving motivational speeches to other workers before a match to pump them up so that they can put on a good show. So he does not deserve any comparison with people who do politics and has nothing to do with them.

Yes I'm a fan of Benoit's work but till the day he never jobs clean and holds down other workers, to me he is still an important person to have in the locker room.

And as far as him committing adultery with Nancy, it takes two to tango. I still think that Benoit is God just for the reason that he got with her and marrying her a little while later. And understand that most of us at one point or another have broken a commandment and sinned, if you have to go by that system. It has nothing to do with my admiration of the man as a professional wrestler.

Never mind I marked the hell out the first time I saw him in the ring.

Reading Matt Hardy's comments on Chris, and coming from him, one of Benoit's peers in the company, to hear him gush about Chris' dedication, ability and positive attitude is all the proof that I need that the man is a wrestling god.

Nuff said.

I hate to admit it, but that's the first thing that came to my mind when I read it.

I dunno. No matter how you try to rephrase it, it still sounds like more double standards to me.

Why not try to motivate people? It's not Benoit's job to motivate the Bashams or anyone else. If he took time out to give a personal motivational type speech to them, that's cool with me, good for him being dedicated to making a better product overall and helping others achieve all that they can.

Please Benoit is only looking out for himself.

Greedy Selfish Bastard. He wants those other guys to be motivated to carry his ass because he can't work a damn match...

I would probably go to church if they would officially announce Benoit as god...

The "You gotta feel it!" line is just so corny.

PLease, if Benoit took out a knife and stabbed Billly Gunn in the throat, everyone would be scrambling to find a reason why its not his fault and that Billy deserved it.

But he did deserve it.

And I will testify to that in a court of law.

Exhibt A: December 2001. The Armagededdon PPV telecast. On this Date Mr. Sopp clearly neglected to protect the body of Mr. Benoit.

Exhibt B: Any Other Billy Gunn match

Exhibit C: ANy other Chris Benoit match

The defense rests.

Wasn't Triple H's speech to the entire roster, before the show, when he wasn't even on the show in question?

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

Yes because you know Benoit saying:

"Come on guys! Let's get pumped up and give the best match possible!"

is the same as HHH going

"The product sucks. And it's your fault because you can't work like me!"
