I would give Benoit/Sullivan *** and HHH/Cactus ****

That's just me.

This post is funny, and entertaining for me to read. Carry on.

HHH/Cactus > Benoit/Sullivan ANY DAY OF THE FUCKING WEEK.

hhh/foley 01/00 is not a classic and is around **** at best. personally i think that both of his wcw brawls against the nasties were better.

HHH v. Foley didn't have many "sick" spots. It was the usual Foley bumps with a pedigree on thumbtacks being the final thing to absolutely kill Cactus Jack

MSG was one of the reasons. A match carries more importance if it takes place at MSG, mostly due to the rich history that it has.

I see Benoit/Sullivan as more a ground breaking brawl. This would equate to HBK vs Razor from WMX and comparing it to the TLC's that followed. If you watch the TLC's, they blow away the WMX match in terms of stunts and spots and such. But if it weren't for WMX, the guys in the TLC matches wouldn't have been inspired to do what they did.

Yeah, yeah. That may be true, but the key to that Ladder match is represented by three letters and those three letters are what sets it apart from the TLC matches.

Nevermind, saw the post.

Oh, don't forget Benoit vs Sullivan BATB 96

Do you mean GAB 96?

No, it's Bash at the Beach 1996. I just put it in my VCR to watch it again. This thread inspired me to watch it again. Kevin Sullivan Vs. Chris Benoit in a Career Vs. Career match.

Last time I watched Cactus/HHH it hadn't aged well. It was pretty dull to begin with (even the crowd were chanting "Boring" at one point) then it picked up, and they took some major punishment and told a good story. It was a good match but nowhere near 5*, IMO.

The pedigree into the thumbtacks spot may be one of the 5 sickest spots in wrestling history. I still cringe when I see that spot on WWE T.V.

The match in question was from GAB 96. They had another brawl, not anywhere near as good, at BATB 97.

Umm No Bash at the Beach 96 was Benoit/Anderson vs. Sullivan/Giant

Nope-

BATB 96 has Giant/Sullivan v. AA/Benoit.

BATB 97 has Benoit v. Sullivan in a career match

"Boring"? I could've sworn they were chanting, "Foley." Even Jerry Lawler said the fans were chanting, "Foley."

No hard feelings, Dangerous A. You're a cool guy whom I happened to get caught up in a misunderstanding with. I hope everything is cool.

Does that include Garrison Cade v. Rosey and Hardcore Holly v. Test?

I LOVE the match where Cactus teams with Sullivan, maybe since they finally won the big one. The Spring Stampede match is also a lot of fun, but I like the one that followed better.

The crowd chants boring because they were brawling in the aisles. As someone who has seen a PPV at MSG- It's impossible for most of the crowd to see what's going on when they brawl in that part of the building

Well JR and Lawler also see "complete silence" as "utter shock".

Of course Jerry Lawler is going to say they were chanting Foley.

The Spring Stampede and Slamboreee 1994 Cactus/Sullivan vs. Nasties brawls were some of the most innovative, influential matches of their time. Amazingly, they still hold up very well today.

Spring Stampede 94 was Cactus/Max Payne vs. Nasties.

You're right, Jerry Lawler and that burnt victim, J.R. are some of the biggest tools to ever walk the face of the planet. Next time, when J.R. observes the dead crowd during a HHH match and says, "Wow, folks, the crowd is in complete awe of the World Heavyweight Champion," I hope Kane saunters out and finishes the job.

We're cool, GameCop. Total misunderstanding.

Yeah, I got my ppv's mixed up by 1 show. The Benoit/Sullivan brawl I was talking about was from GAB 96 fall count anywhere match. BATB 97 was the retirement match.

Or better yet, I hope Kane's pyro lights J.R. on fire so we never have to be subjected to his senility. Long live Jonathan Coachman. Finally, the black man is getting some respect. Although, I have to admit, Coachman acts way too "whitish" to be a genuine black man. He needs to thug and bug a little more.

The problem with Heyman is that he uses only one modifier to describe the events in the ring. That word is EXTREME~!

"look at that EXTREME headlock"

"JR, that was EXTREME!!"

"We're gonna get really EXTREME!!"

"That sleeper hold by HHH is EXTREME!!!!!"

You get the picture.
