PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Another win! It was certainly a must win, but this can now be called a run! I think we won both games due to not playing David Graham, but that's just me. And everyone else. Didn't make it to Hillsborough today but we were actually decent at Burnley, they were pretty lifeless (players and fans) but Coughlan, Wood, Barry Corr and John Hills were all solid. Encouraging. k thx 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Hey guys, i'm still around, just. How's everyone's teams doing? As a resident Derby fan, if anyone forgot, i'm not so great. We're only 9 points off the play offs now, unbeaten in 6(after booting out the loanees) and Have Murray in his 02/03 form, we've also got a Brazilian goalie who's put Phillips oon the bench. Anyone done any deals since the window opened? We've got Scott Golbourne out to Reading and David Noble in on Jan 7 when his loan finishes. I've been keeping up to date on Bristol City as they'll be my local team if I move to Bristol. They're on a wicked run at the moment, full credit to them. Also, glad to see Forrest turn it around. As for Pompey, we're set to be taken over by the son of a Russian Arms-Dealing Billionaire. Play up Pompski!
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 You know, not many teams can manage to score a 90th minute equaliser and still lose 3-1 but, by God, we managed it today and with some style to...

PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Happy to have Tudgay and Burton, once Steve Maclean comes back we've actually got a pretty good strike force. We're staying up.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Funny how once Peacock was dropped you start winning.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Happy to have Tudgay and Burton, once Steve Maclean comes back we've actually got a pretty good strike force. We're staying up. I don't fancy our chances against you in the next league game which is a six-pointer. Wednesday seem to have some guts and character & we've got neither. Guest Damn You Helmsley Report post Posted January 3, 2006 God knows what shit signings Newcastle are going to make during the window. Can't believe Boumsong's been there a year.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 I remember some reliably good footy pundits like Gab Marcotti saying Boumsong wasn't all he was cracked up to be back when him and Mexes were both still at Auxerre.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 There is not a worse centre back partnership in the Prem than Bramble/Boumsong. Which I find hilarious. Lucky for them Given's injury didn't last, they'd ship ten a game without him.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 They don't have much luck with their Centre Backs, they bought a spanish one for nearly 6 million and he played about 20 games in 3 years. The Woodgate deal was a good one though(money wise)
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Steve Phillips is on the transfer list, he'll probably end up at one of the lower Championship teams.Good shot stopper but not half as good as Billy Mercer was for us.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Did I hear your lot were interested in Paul Heckingbottom? I think Blackpool might have stuck in a bid for him, but he's a solid left back, excellent for us last season.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Not heard anything about a left back yet, with Golbourne gone to Reading we do need one though. Our main target is a striker, we've only got Brooker,Stewart and Bas Savage(The black Peter Crouch) Edit: We do have a 6'8 Portugese defender on trial though and Yeovil have 14 players out of contract in the summer so I'd expect a few of them to join us. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 Yeovil had 14 players? Christ. I don't think I'll miss any of the ones we're letting go (Peacock - striker, Rocastle - midfield, Heckingbottom - left back, Lee - Central defence). Nowt really against any of em, they just can't play in this league. Rotherham are livid that we signed Deon Burton and he fucked off his last appearance for them. Hah. a statement from their chairman used the phrase 'letting down his fellow professionals' about four times

PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Christ, away at Millwall on saturday. Definitely the biggest game of the season so far. We have to win, after all, blades have signed their dangerman Bruce Dyer! hehehe. More proven premiership mettle at the lane...
Guest Damn You Helmsley Report post Posted February 2, 2006 Can anyone outside of the city itself honestly say that they're stunned by the woefulness associated with Newcastle? They have possibly the most gullible set of supporters in all of sport, fickle as can be. They proclaim heroes at an absurd ratio only to burn effigies of that same person the very next week. Some of them even want Bobby Robson back. Hey chaps, how about Ruud Gullit? Or Kenny Dalglish? No wait, Keegan's the answer!
Anorak 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Hard not to think of the Owen transfer as a prime recent example in what you say about Newcastle fans. Those mass turnouts when he signed make you cringe slightly when it's completely obvious to the rest of the country the deal is a complete farce. I think the mentality of the Newcastle fans you talk about (and possibly the rest of club) puts off some possible candidates who could actually make Newcastle into the top-six side they should be given their resources. Even geordie boy Chris Waddle decribed the job today as a 'poisoned chalice' - it's easy to see where he's coming from. Big names will probably be linked again but who will actually want to go there? Nobody did last time did they? Souness was about 5th choice and the shambles of the last 17 months was just so utterly predictable that it's hard to even manage a chuckle about it. And they still have the same bloke in charge who took the piss out of the club's supporters and the city of Newcastle itself. Shame he's as gullible with HIS money as he said the supporters were with theirs. Geordies = Stupid AND hypocritical.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 Blackburn did good out the deal though, they were about to sack Souness but instead get about a million in compensation for him. only thing stopping Newcastle from being bottom 3 right now is having Shay Given, and when fit Parker and Owen. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 YESSSSSSS WE ARE STAYING UP (I think) We won with Lee Bullen in net, which means he has literally played in every single position for us. Good lad.
