deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Got our 2nd signing, a 6'6 centre back from Lincoln, Dario Gradi wanted him at Crwe and I'd rate him a good judge of talent. Cotterill will start up front for Wales on Saturday, seems he's 3rd choice Striker for them after Earnshaw and Bellamy. Edit: Funny how a "B" game will be the most important friendly in Sven's run. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2006 Well we lost to a team that shouldn't really exist, but there are positives! Furthermore, Carson is now in the World Cup squad, so I really can't see us securing him for another season.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2006 If Dudek and Kirkland stay then he'll definitely go out on loan, what clubs in the prem need a GK? maybe Watford if Ben Foster goes back to Man U but that's it, only choice for him is a Championship club or lose his England place. Edit: Foster's back up now, spent a month with us in 2002 on loan.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2006 I think the main worry is West Ham, but you're right, and Everton getting Tim Howard will help our cause.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2006 You thought about Wigan? they've the money for a permanent deal and the 2 Goalies are getting on.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Well done Cheltenham, nice to see old boys Ward,Gillespie,Bell,Odejayi,Spencer and Brown back at our place. The Yeovil raid is up to 2 now, we've took Yeovil's physio and could get new Wales International Aaron Davies from them, we'd probably have their Goalie as well if he wasn't out till Christmas. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Hmm...We're keen on Duncan Ferguson apparently...dunno if that's better or worse than Blades' interest in Danny Mills.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 one's on a free and the other has a few years left on a 35/40 grand a week deal, Ferguson should take the 1 year while Mills wouldn't leave unless his contract is the same as his one now.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...wed/5033646.stm Very good of you to take the best player of a play off rival.

deancoles 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ity/5034016.stm Hope we don't pay to much, Fulham always get good deals from us, Tony Thorpe sold for a million and they get Liam Rosenior for 50k.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Ouch. I'm quite upbeat really, we've got Lunt for fuck all, and at this stage last season (coming off a promotion) signings were much thinner on the ground.
k thx 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 I'd say Lunt is a damn good signing. I'm surprised he left Crewe though. So far, Pompey have made no signings. Damn Redknapp.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 You're in the John Hartson frame though....
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Think Portsmouth are after the 6'8 forward Zigic, no reason why they can't have both though. I wouldn't be surprised if Bolton go after Hartson, he's old, cheap and can play up top on his own.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 I thought Arsenal were keen on him, that would have been a while ago now though and I doubt they're looking for a striker anymore.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav...uy+Nikola+Zigic Reason they don't want him any more. http://www.bcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages...~2920486,00.jpg You can tell which player was with Johnson at Yeovil. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...tic/5037776.stm The play off rivals keep losing Managers/Players, long may it continue. Edit: What do you make of the Match Fixing thing in Italy? If Milan and Juventus go down a league I can see the bigger names coming over to the premiership. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 I will warn you that John Sheridan has divine capabilities however.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 We're after Michael Reddy, he was at your place for a while, what was he like? Cardiff fans think they'll get Dave Cotterill with the Jerome money, seem to think it'll make up for not spotting him as a youth. No way he'll go there though, I'd guess he'll end up at Fulham or Blackburn by 2008.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Speaking of Jerome, why the hell didn't he go to a premiership side?
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Realistically he'd only have been going to a newly promoted team, Reading have 3 strikers better than him,Watford have no money and your enemies have about 9 strikers and bought Horsfield and Akinbiyi when Cardiff turned them down. He'll still get Premiership wages at Birmingham and if he's smart will have a non promotion release clause. Edit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/5037494.stm Be surprised if they're the only ones, Hearts and Kaunas for example.
k thx 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 I'm amazed Billy Davies went to Derby. It seems that there's a lot of very good Championship players/managers moving to other Championship teams who aren't significantly better (a la Kenny Lunt) Wierd.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2006 Getting Michael Reddy for 300 - 350K is supposedly a done deal, hopefully it's something like 200K now with the rest on Goals,Games played and Promotion.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2006 We are significantly better than Crewe thankyou very much, but only because, you know, their two best players now play for us. Sussed!
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Their best player is Billy Jones, based on what I've heard from the Crewe Fans and also being dubbed the next Jamie Carragher on FM 06. Edit: Davies to Derby worries me, he signed Hill and Anyinsah and Wanted/Wants Fortune, Derby have no good strikers and might go for Brooks.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Edit: What do you make of the Match Fixing thing in Italy? If Milan and Juventus go down a league I can see the bigger names coming over to the premiership. Can't see it happening. I doubt the Italian F.A would risk dropping their two megapower teams from the top league for fear of falls in interest and/or revenue.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 They've done it before though, haven't they? I'm sure AC Milan were relegated in the early 80s during the match fixing scandel that got Palao Rossi etc suspended for a couple of years?
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 If it's proved in court there's no choice, Marseille were sent down a league when they were the European Champions. Might help our teams in europe, looks like the league is kicking off in October. Edit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ity/5048666.stm Partridge is one of our biggest wastes ever, 150K after Coughlan turned us down for a "better team", plays terrible for a few games, has an "incident" in town and goes to MK Dons, a court Case coming means we're lumbered for 2 years. Gets in the Wales squad though.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/5048224.stm We were linked with him last year I think but nothing came of it. Hang on a sec, I get it! He's FREE this year! Tight bastards.
