TheFranchise Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 It has come to my (and TheFranchise's) attention that many people here support division one teams, so i figured we needed a thread to discuss fixtures etc, and to gloat. So here it is. Cardiff's first league game: 9 August v Rotherham. This thread's nearly four years old.
deancoles Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_2/3113681.stm Seems like it was only yesterday, only Carey still here now. Back to the present, we've signed Ivan Sproule for an Undisclosed fee on a 3 year deal.
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 No pitch no players, no pitch no players Everything's kind of fucking up in our face pretty early on. I hope Whelan signs a new deal.
deancoles Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 We've got to play you on that thing Sept 1st, will it be ready by then?
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Don't hold your breath. In fact, if you're sat in the first few tiers, it might be advisable!
TheFranchise Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 They'll cop out and say it's a waterlogged pitch.
TheFranchise Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 They'd have played on that 50 years ago.
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Yeah, it was worse than that pic initially. Now most of the pitch is visible. After relaying the fucker, its all the changing rooms and stuff that need sorting out, obv they are all contaminated with sewage. This is perfect.
TheFranchise Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Derby have finally joined the race for transfers, picking up Rob Earnshaw for a club record £3.5m.
TheFranchise Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Well, the general idea was to get a fast striker to play along side Howard, and I guess Earnshaw fits the bill perfectly. He does have the honour of being the only player to score a hattrick in leagues two, one, the championship, the premiership, the FA and League Cup and international level. So he can obviously put the ball in the net.
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Yeah, Sky Sports had him blasting one in against us on a 20 minute loop yesterday. Cheers!
Anorak Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 7 players in and not a penny spent on a transfer fee.
deancoles Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/sport/footba...98487-19387234/ You see more takeover rumours than transfer ones these days.
k thx Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/sport/footba...98487-19387234/ You see more takeover rumours than transfer ones these days. You have to agree with their reasoning though. If they take Bristol to the Premiership, that's a whole untapped market of fans in the west of the country (similar to Cardiff).
TheFranchise Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Anybody else dying of waiting? I can't wait for football.

Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 New season, new sense of hope. Maybes.. just Maybes... this is Newcastle's Season! (not to make tits out of themselves)
TheFranchise Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 We still haven't finalised ours. We've got an Italian tour.
Guest CookieMueller Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 New to this thread. Hammer fan. Good news for us yesterday. Now I just gotta hold on to the sliver of hope that Tevez stays with us. I also have a soft spot for Colchester, but Sheringham? Honestly? Guess they need it with the mass exodus of strikers going on over the summer.
Murmuring Beast Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 I would sign Sheringham in half a second.
TheFranchise Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Yeah, Sheringham was one of the names linked with us before we signed Earnshaw.
PLAGIARISM! Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 We've tabled a bid for 'an undisclosed striker'. I bet he's played for Scunthorpe in his lifetime, whoever it is. Also, goodbye Graham Coughlan, and thanks.
deancoles Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Our live games on Sky so far September 1st: Sheff Wed vs. Bristol City 12.45 October 21st: Bristol City vs. Sheffield Utd 5.20
k thx Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Pompey signed /nugent and John Utaka, a Nigerian striker, today. Hopefully some good talent to team up with Benjani, Lua Lua and Kanu (if he stays) for the new season. Maybe a left back and a speedy winger, and we're set. Just hope we don't sell anyone.
Murmuring Beast Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 We have NO (good ) strikers. Off to Germany on Sunday.
PLAGIARISM! Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I think Pompey are gonna do well this year. We've revealed that we've been having takeover talks with a former Everton shareholder since jan. Nice to hear SOMETHING, as Dave Allen basically assured everyone we'd be getting taken over this summer and this is pretty much the first that's been said about it.
deancoles Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 We've signed Michael Mcindoe from Wolves to fill the Left Winger gap, with Kightly and Jarvis his 1st team chances were obviously limited. No link or rumours at all about him, hope his attidude has improved, he left Yeovil for Doncaster a few years ago because of a clash with GJ and the same happened at Doncaster.
