Guest frowned Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 It is a shame what's happened to the canaries over the last decade, european football to having to play the likes of 'derby' every season. Oh wait, I support derby... meh - I don't think it's that big a deal, over the past couple of seasons Worthington's built up a well-trained squad, injuries have took out a considerable amount of depth in the squad but it's nothing that 3 extremely good loans hasn't solved. I personally quite like saying that we're a first division team - at least we're always chasing something, it seems that in the premiership the big gulf between the big 3 and the rest of the league has resulted in people rushing for 4th or putting all of their resources into the cup competitions. Although saying that, if we don't get promoted this season we face the loss of 6 or 7 top players and the manager... so I wouldn't complain if we went up!
TheFranchise Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 Talking of you lot, we have Ipswich at home on Saturday.
Guest jpclemmons Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Rangers got thier butts handed to them by Man U.
TheFranchise Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Yep, Chelsea did a number over in Italy too
Anorak Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Rangers were terrible last night. Personally i'm looking forward to the 2 leg knockout format being re-introduced to the next stage of the Champions League. I think there will be more upsets and exitement than with the league format. Will there be seeded teams for this or will it be completely drawn at random?
monkey Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Lucky lucky Aresnal. Well roll on the weekend, Liverpool - Man U on Sunday should be interesting.
Anorak Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Chelsea vs Newcastle should be good as well
TheFranchise Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Chelsea - the 2003 Man United of the 90's?
monkey Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Well Derby Ipswich is almost upon us. Especially as we have played well int he last two game sbut lost. A win is just what Ipswich need now.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Heh, Pompey 6: Leeds 1 Fucking A!
TheFranchise Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 lol@leeds Ipswich/Derby was a hell of a game, best i've seen this year.
monkey Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Well at least we didnt lose, so Franchise, be honest was the draw a fair result?
TheFranchise Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I know i may sound biased, but Derby could have won 6 or 7-2 today. Your penalty wasn't that clear, but that being said, we scored twice in first half injury time, we could have had three in the last two minutes of the game, and you guys missed a lot of clear chances, very fun match.
TheFranchise Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Portsmouth made my day. I HATE LEEDS. ME too.
Anorak Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Man City 0 Leicester 3 THE RUN CONTINUES!!!!!
TheFranchise Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Man City 0 Leicester 3 THE RUN CONTINUES!!!!! oooo How did that happen then?
Anorak Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 I don't know but I don't really care either! Man City are a typical Keegan team defensively so we just defended very well and took our chances when they came. The response to the Wolves debacle had been brilliant. Having Ben Thatcher back is a big plus, aside from Stephen Carr I honestly don't rate anybody he left behind at Spurs to be a better defender than him at present.
TheFranchise Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 So we wont be playing you next season?
Anorak Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 So we wont be playing you next season? Fingers crossed we won't, looks like you might have a relegation battle on your hands as well but I don't think you'll go down if you stop dropping points at home.
TheFranchise Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 we will be though [/optimism] Who's we?
Guest frowned Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 the mighty Norwich City of course, the only team in Britain with a 100% home record.
TheFranchise Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Oh yes, that nearly got dropped against us if i remember correctly. You've gotta come to Pride Park yet boy (assuming you are a boy) and you'll see how good we are. Well, you'll see what we are anyway.
Guest frowned Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 yeah, I do remember reading that it wasn't as clean cut as the record suggests, but we seem to be in a similar position at the same stage every season... Christmas is when we usually lose our legs. And it's not gonna be much different this season cos that's pretty much when our loans go back home...
TheFranchise Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 lol i know what you mean, we've had four loan players go back already, and look where WE are!
Guest frowned Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 yup - our success is based mainly on one good loan signing... man - I wish we could afford Huckerby...
TheFranchise Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Huckerby was actually coming to Derby, but went to Forest in the end (he's from nottingham, which doesnt make it that bad) it's a shame Junior got injured for the rest of the season, 5 goals in 7 games for Derby, then big injury
TheFranchise Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Derby vs Burnley tomorrow - and i may just miss it.
