The Decemberists Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 The Sun are pretty accurate most of the time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really don't undertstand your Sun love. I always thought that only people with 3 working brain cells read that particular paper. Although you are Sheep so maybe that explains it Not sure if this counts as 'silly' but the Evening Post said we were BOUND to CERTAINLY sign Tes Bramble WITHOUT DOUBT and that our Chief Exec was tying up the deal as they wrote. When our Chief Exec was asked about this his reply was " erm, without meaning to be rude to the lad, but who the hell is Tes Bramble?" Last summer we were linked with John Hartson though, which certainly counts.
TheFranchise Posted June 20, 2005 Report Posted June 20, 2005 Tes who? Anyway, fixtures get released on Thursday.
The Decemberists Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 FOREST HAVE SIGNED SOMEONE!!!! :D :D Unfortunatly it's Nicky Southall, but it's the thought that counts...
Guest Lawlerm Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Seen as most people on here are fans of Championship teams (or teams previously there) could anyone tell me anything about Mo Camara?
The Decemberists Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 He was probably Burnley's best player last season. Attacking full-back. Should be more than good enough for the other Scottish teams, but whether he's good enough for to play in Europe for you I'm not sure.
King Cucaracha Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Well, looks like we've finally signed Park Ji-Sung from PSV for £3.9m, barring a failed medical or whatever. Always nice to see a good shirt selle...I mean...good player, of course...sign for the club.

TheFranchise Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Phil Brown unveiled as the new manager at Pride Park.
The Decemberists Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Well, after being turned down by the Yeovil manager I guess that was about the level you were going to get.
King Cucaracha Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 So, any gamblers here? I'm finally old enough to have a wager and I'm probably going to put a fiver on United to win the Premiership, just for pride.
The Decemberists Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 Forest are 5/1 Favourites for the title at William Hills. I forget what the odds are for promotion of any sort, but it's embarrassingly short. I don't like us being favourites. Too much pressure.
deancoles Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 At least it's not us, last couple of years we've been favourites and haven't performed. Our odds are pretty stupid as well, blame the Stewart deal for that, the main contenders seem to be Forest,us,Huddersfield and Tranmere.Personally I think Oldham being below Walsall and Swindon in the odds is a joke, Swindle have lost their only bit of quality while Oldham have Moore,Wellens and could get Beckett which would easily put them as one of the better teams in the league. Edit: Here's a look at the bigger name bookies and their odds for L1, when the scorers come out we should have Lita,Brooker and Stewart in the top 10 if there's any justice. http://online-betting-guide.oddschecker.co...902x&sid=632736
Guest Lawlerm Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 Best thing to do is back the 8 league winners in England and Scotland in an accumulator. Gives you something to look out for at the weekends with other results and stuff.
TheFranchise Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 The hell?? http://online-betting-guide.oddschecker.co...033x&sid=632736 Yeovil are 42/41 to get promoted.. No wonder their manager wouldn't leave!
deancoles Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 They are a pretty good team, they should easily finish mid table L1, a couple of astute signings and they could be playing you next year.
TheFranchise Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 They can't, the best they can hope for next season is the Championship..
The Decemberists Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 I know you've not exactly got a proven manager or any money to spend and an almost crippling debt, but I am surprised you're thinking of relegation
TheFranchise Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 No, I support Derby - You're thinking of the Decemberists.
King Cucaracha Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 #61! Brazil 2-0 up against Argentina with a quarter of an hour gone in the Confed. Cup Final.
TheFranchise Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Half time. Argentina aren't out of it yet.
deancoles Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 We finally flogged the Doc today, QPR will regret it soon enough, he has a deserved rep for enjoying the Fags and Booze, has only averaged 30 games a year and gets exhausted at the hour mark.
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 We signed Gillingham's utility left back. Huzzah. Sad to see James Quinn go, that was a royal fuckup by everyone involved. And Shefki effing Kuqi is in the prem. That defies belief.
Anorak Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 What happened with Quinn then? He looked good in the play-off final.
The Decemberists Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 This is my thread, it seems. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But a lot of that would have to do with your habit of following on your own posts straight away with a seperate point rather then going back to your first post and editing it in.
