Duane Gill and Barry Horowitz were a team?

JOBBER INCORPORATED!

All they needed was the Brooklyn Brawler and it'd be complete.

CRZ recap (slashwrestling.com) of the match...of course this was '93 and a jobber match so not a real detailed recap:

The Steiners v. Dwayne Gill and the Greatest Wrestler Alive, Barry Horowitz

- As usual, Gill does a good job of selling the Frankensteiner. I wonder

how many matches he's been in with them. (Hint: Gill is one of the masked

jobber Executioners, too.)

Jesus, look at the jump in matches there. Thank God for Nitro getting Vince to go 2 hours and put on more matches.

Do we ever get 7 matches a show now?

I think that was Jesus Castillo (of Los Boricuas). I understand you were making a joke, but I am just clarifying.

Brakus def. Jesus

Look, Vince already did bring in Jesus, and nobody cared then.

And they job him in 51 seconds! Here is the CRZ recap of the match:

BRAKUS v. JESUS (no entrance) - surely an auspicious debut to take on the son of God! Brakus is rated TV-PG-V and comes out to Mark Henry's good-guy music (I guess I'm not supposed to remember that, ha!). Clip of Savio taking apart Brakus in the Bral for All match is supposed to make Brakus look good - it doesn't. Lockup, powerout. Brakus whips Jesus and hits a powerslam. Elbow drop. Brakus sure does a lot of shouting for a German guy. Another elbow drop. Stomp on the back. Spinebuster. 1, 2, 3. Whoops, that's it. (:51)

That match was from the early days of the Light Hwy Division... A dream match such as Tommy Rogers vs Bobby Fulton (Both in their 40's I think) was another ***** match during this period...

We need a Doink vs Savage recap (Macho Midget???????)

CRZ recap:

Doink (The Clown) v. Ad Break - As Doink enters on his unicycle, we take an

ad break.

Amazing, the Macho Patriot enters to his usual theme and NOT his

"WrestleMania: The Album" cut. Savage chums it up with the crowd, and

Vince tells us that Savage is dedicating this match to Crush, by some

convoluted logic. Savage goes under the ring and comes back, apparently

finding no clowns. The matchup FINALLY begins as Savage once again works

the crowd. Lockup, Doink misses a punch. "Macho" chant has started up.

Vince wonders what the "little surprise" is, which finally ruins it for me:

I now just KNOW that there's going to be a midget involved. Doink with some

illegal moves. Savage gets angry, and goes outside to steal the Fink's

chair. While referee "Blind" Dave Hebner wrests the chair from the Macho

Man, Doink blindsides him and gains the advantage. Doink pounds away and

puts Savage in a Boston Crab. Using the ropes for leverage, Hebner catches

him the second time. Doink puts the knee on the ropes and jumps on it, so

we can get that infamous Savage limp . Savage manages to get in one

shot before he's pounded some more. Savage gains the momentum back by

reversing Doink's attempts. Doink ends up on the outside, and Savage

follows. As the Clown slams the Macho head into the STEEL post, we take an

ad break. When we come back, Savage is powering out of YASH (yet another

submission hold). Vince calls Savage a "future Hall of Famer" (meaning one

day he'll die). Doink takes Savage post to post. Belly to belly suplex for

2. Another 2 for the Clown. YASH, abdominal stretch. Savage throws Doink

over his shoulder. Doink comes back with YASH. Doink reverses a Savage

charge into a powerslam. Finally, Doink goes up to the top to deliver his

Cannonball, but cleverly Savage rolls out before the Clown lands on him.

Eye rake, and Savage rolls out of the ring. Savage goes UNDER the ring.

Finally....oh no, it IS a midget. Tiger Jackson, wearing a face mask and

dressed like the Macho Man, comes out. Doink thinks this is hilarious, and

I would have to if Vince hadn't COMPLETELY GIVEN IT AWAY to me. Anyway,

Doink exits the ring to chase the Macho Midget and gets tripped up when he

forgets about Savage. Everybody goes back into the ring and thanks to the

Midget's distraction, Savage puts Doink in a small package for the 3 count.

Vince: "Doink has been out-Doinked!" I wonder who wrote this one. Get a

good play-by-play man and it'd be a hit. I still can't forgive Vince for

giving away the ending. I know that most WWF fans are too stupid to see it

coming, but GEEZ...

Devon Storm def. Ace Darling

I guess there were a lot of injuries/no shows since they delivered this jobber vs. jobber match.

Recap by G.P. Ryan on the RSPW message boards:

Ace Darling vs. Devon Storm (light heavyweight division)

Maybe it's just me, but I think it would be interesting if someone

worked up a list of who has appeared on both Nitro and RAW in the same year. Storm takes right over and hits some kicks in the corner, whips

him into the corner and hits a monkey flip, but Darling lands on his

feet. Storm misses a clothesline and Darling hits a second-rope back

bodypress, then a double-leg rollup. (At any rate, it's the inverse of

the double-leg cradle as I see it, that move from Mero/Austin at

KOTR). Storm goes for a powerbomb but Darling counters with a rana,

only for Storm to roll through.

WINNER: Ace Darling, at 0:43 1/2* -- 3/4*

D-Lo Brown def. Jeff Jarrett to win the Intercontinental Title

What a moment!

I miss D-Lo. :(

CRZ recap:

JEDOUBLEF JADOUBLEREDOUBLET (with De-Bra) v. D'LO BROWN in a Title for Title match - Let Us Take You Back to Last Week where Ben Stiller had great fun - well, until the figure four. Strangely enough, Brown is NOT announced as hailing from any particular European city. Lockup, go behind from Jarrett, punches traded, clothseline from Jarret, shoulderblock from Brown. Semi-clean break - Jarret with a kick, Jarrett takes control. Off the ropes, duck, Rydeen bomb by Brown for 2. Fireman's carry takeover for 2 for Brown. Running powerslam by Brown for 2. Jarrett decides that's enough 2 counts for now and rolls outside - referee "Blind" Tim White puts on the count but Jarrett drags Brown out instead. It's D'Lo, however, dropping Jarrett on the STEEL steps. Brown on the second turnbuckle - but he meets a dropkick. Kneedrop from Jarrett, lariat, lariat, choke on the second rope - Chef Boyardee brings you the doublefeature of the dropkick. Time now for the Bossman slide-under-uppercut. Back in - head to the buckle. Right hand, Brown fires back with three rights. Hard whip into the corner, but Brown puts up the boot. Jarrett comes back with an ambar takedown. Shut up, Lawler. Back to the armbar for Jarrett. Off the ropes, sleeper. Brown to one knee. Arm falls once, arm falls twice, arm nae falls thrice. Elbow, elbow, out of it, off the ropes, knee to the gut and Brown flips. Stomp on the lower abs. Off the ropes, reversed, head down, swinging neckbreaker from Brown for 2. Headlock - but Brown elbows out - off the ropes - up and over - double leg takedown - catapult into the turnbuckle. Jarrett tries to come back with the punch, but Brown slips it and connects with one of his own. Slam. Standing legdrop. 1, 2, no. Brown has Jarrett in the corner - time for the ten punch count along. Whip is reversed, but Brown ducks and White takes the brunt of the blow. With the ref out, Brown hits the Sky-Hi on Jarrett. Now Debra's in the ring with both title belts. But she drops them to the mat and unbuttons her top instead. Brown does a brief Mark Henry-like tongue manouevre, but instead grabs a belt and waffles Jarrett with it. Cover - White's up - 1, 2, 3! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a NEW Intercontinental Champion. (6:13) Jarrett's finally rousted, and he's angry. After some words for Debra, he grabs her hand and drags her off.

That last match made me think...

Rock, HHH, Goldust and Jarrett are the only 4 men to hold both the classic version of the Intercontinental Title and the Attitude Version of it, aren't they?
