Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Hi guys. I'm going to Raw for the first time this week, and I'm wondering if anyone who has gone before has any tips on meeting wrestlers and/or getting autographs after the show (or before if that's better)? Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 30, 2003 I'll handle this- Go find the parking lot and the entrance that they all go through. Just look for a bunch of production trucks and you should find it. The wrestlers come in at around 10-11 and continue coming in throughout the day. I've done it twice at Madison Square Garden and met most of the roster.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Do what I did, go behind the arena like 2-3 hours before the show starts. Generally, there's a fence in front of the parking lot whic is next to the back entrance of the arena (where the ramp for cars to drive down is). It worked for me. Jackie Gayda, Rene Dupree, Goldust, Ivory, Victoria, D-Von, Maven, Rico, Rodney Mack, The Hebners, Charles Robinson, Chad Petton, Howard Finkle and RVD stopped by and took time to sign autographs and take pictures. (Despite the heel status he has, Rico was the nicest one of them all. He went in to put his bags away and came out and spent at least 20 minutes with the fans, making sure he got all of us who were present.) Rob was also hella cool, him and Booker were the last people to arrive. Rob risked being late to try to get us all, he got as many as he could. He pushed it, but I'm glad he did. Great guy. Test, Stacy Kiebler, Christian, Lance Storm, Nowinski, Kevin Nash, Booker T (he didn't mean to though cuz he was running late), Buh Buh Ray, Spike, Val Venis, the other french guy Sylvian, and Chris Jericho (of course) were pricks and blew us off. I mind you this was a RAW house show I went to.
Jesse Badass 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 (edited) Go there early in the afternoon to the parking lots. They have trucks with WWE written on them. They won't let you go inside the gates though. The wrestles will come to you and sign autographs and take pictures. But they won't come outside the gates. After the show, go to the same parking lot and they will come out of the building to go to their hotels. When I went to Raw Goldberg was out there for the longest. Thats were my brother cussed out Earl Habner for screwing Bret Hart and I got my Bret Hart shirt signed by Earl Habner. That shit was so funny. At Inserextion this year Rico and Bubba Dudley were the only ones who came out.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 But they won't come outside the gates. Rico was the only one that did. After the show, go to the same parking lot and they will come out of the building to go to their hotels. You have a better chance doing it before the show starts because when the show ends, that's when you got EVERYBODY wanting to get with the superstars which gives them more reason to leave since there are too many fans. Even Rico ditched the audience after the show left. When I went to Raw Goldberg was out there for the longest. Thats were my brother cussed out Earl Habner for screwing Bret Hart and I got my Bret Hart shirt signed by Earl Habner. That shit was so funny. LOL, Earl arrived and was signing stuff / taking pics with his bro, Dave (with whom he arrived along with Charles). As Earl was entering the building... (Yes, I remember this incident very well and took much pride in it) Me: Hey Earl! Earl: Yeah? Me: YOU SCREWED BRET! Earl: SHUT UP!!! Also when the show ended, Earl was being carried by some other referee backstage because he got "hurt" in the HHH / Nash match. I was along the steel corridors (the ones ECW used) and I shouted You Screwed Bret again as he passed by. He just shook his head.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Hop the railing during a match If you're serious about doing this, I recommended doing it at RAW (a live show) or a PPV especially during the main event and then you'll be immortalized as that stupid fan who tried to interfere although if you sock HHH in the process, more power to ya. *remembers the drunk fan from the Guerrero / RVD RAW IC Ladder match. Guest JRE Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Restraunts such as Applebees near the arena work well. It doesn't always beat the parking lot in terms of quantity, but the quality of the meeting is better. For instance, last year I talked for about 5 minutes with Edge and Val Venis. A week or so ago a had a similiar meeting with Mave, D-Von, and Earl Hebner. Lilian Garcia was also nice enough to bring in the World Title belt and pose for pictures. Also at the same Applebees I talked to Edge and Val, and on that same night...I shook hands and talked a little to Eddy Guerrero. And shook hands with a table consisting of: D-Von, Batista, Horace Hogan, Bull Buchanan, and Albert. All were nice guys. Lilian, Edge, Val, and Maven were probably the nicest to me personally. I also saw Eddy have to sort of shut up a fan while Eddy was trying to talk on the phone. After Eddy was done on the phone he went up and shook the guys hand, signed an autograph, and talked to him for a while. EDIT: Of course, these were for house shows, a Live Raw is probably much different.
Bored 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 I'd say get an eight-ball and a couple of hookers and you'll meet plenty of wrestlers.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 I don't do restaurants or hotel lobbies. It would make me feel like more of a stalker. Although if it was one of those "at the right place at the right time" kind of things (you know you just run into them / see them without you knowing they were there after all), I would probably faint from excitement. *Wishes he could meet a wrestler at an airport by chance
Guest JRE Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Actually...the first time I went to Applebee's I didn't expect any wrestlers to be there. I was just sitting at the bar and I look behind me....6 feet away was Eddy. Behind him was table full of wrestlers. I looked at the door....Edge and Val. It was amazing. Guest Sturgis Report post Posted July 30, 2003 For House Shows: Near the curtains off to th side there is like miny "Gorrila Position" where you can meet wrestlers and agents, and best of all security don't mind cause they know your just going to shake hands and say a few words. Through this method I've met: Theadore R. Long Blackjack Lanza Earl Hebner La Reistance Chad Patton Jamal

I'll second that. I went to a show last year. Rico, Nidia, and Noble were the only ones who were chatting with fans after the show. Rico's cool.

Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted July 30, 2003 When I was little, I met Nick Bockwinkel. Now that's cool. Also, I got Bobby Heenan's autograph when he was doing some WCW promotion at a Piggly Wiggly. Some woman came up to him and said "who ARE you? Are you a celebrity or something?" and he said "I'm Pancho Sanza, the mayor of Mexico." This cracks me up to this day.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Instead of Chanting "You screwed Bret"...Chant something creative and fresh "You screwed Katie" would be great when Kane does his segment.
Guest BDC Report post Posted July 30, 2003 That Heenan line is terrific. As for this... well, kidnap CC, bind her wrist to yours and then meet the wrestlers. Get her and a wrestler in a picture with you. That'd be sweet. ...what?
