Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 I was in a heated discussion with a friend of mine about the state of the WWE. It was a good fun argument, which naturally, I won. Now for some reason I imagined that doing a roundtable analysis/discussion with WWE-related people would be interesting. You could have some writers, maybe an Internet guy or two, and some other random folks, and have them argue and discuss the week in wrestling. Of course this would never fly because everyone would be forced to say that Triple H is the best wrestler ever and there was nothing wrong with Raw, and there's no way they'd get Dave Meltzer or anyone on a WWE show. But still, I think this would be a cool concept, as long as Max Kellerman is nowhere near it.
Guest undisputedjericho Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 No Max Kellerman? Nooooooooooo.....
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 No Max Kellerman, but I'd put Woody Paige on, even if he doesn't know anything about wrestling. And if he didn't, even better. At wwe.com, it's Brian Solomon. At The Denver Post, it is WOODY PAIGE!
Adam Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 It would be a really cool concept, but I really don't think that anyone would actually be able to tell the truth without some backlash.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Exactly. It'd be like "Do you buy or sell the Undertaker as the most respected wrestler in history?" and there'd be nothing to debate.
Rendclaw Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 It would be funny having writers toeing the company line and verbally walking in lockstep.... for the first couple of times, anyway.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 only it would be JR, Linda, and HHH as the "diverse" board
Guest razazteca Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 From 1Wrestling its Bob Ryder From Byte This its the TE kid Josh At Slam Sports its Bret Hart Was the split a good idea?
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 How about Brian Solomon: Company Line Dave Meltzer: IWC Bill Apter: stupid marks Woody Paige: just because
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 i think PTI with Dames as Wilbon and AS as Kornheiser would be better
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Showstoppa, you made me realize just now that Wilbon missed the whole Kobe debacle! Unbelievable! Also a good panel, for TSM-ATH: Anglesault, Kotzenjunge, BPS, and Downhome. Dames is in charge of muting.
Guest Choken One Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 no way Choken One: Woody Paige (Idiot that no one likes but makes a good point every once in a well and can be funny at times) Ravishing Rick Rudo: Bob Ryan (Overanalyzing concieted dude who lives to debate the stupidst of stupid) AngleSault:Jay Marinotti (The Whiny Complaining disapointed in local propects Homer for specific persons) Kotzenjunge: Micheal Holley (The young "cool" hipster with modern edge) Dames: Kellerman (Smart, Funny, Charming and good looking muting bastard)
Guest bravesfan Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Choken One: Woody Paige (Idiot that no one likes but makes a good point every once in a well and can be funny at times) Woody Paige is the panel member that everyone LIKES, not despises. IMO, in order of quality of panel judging by their content, it goes: Paige Mariotti ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Holley ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...then Bob Ryan.
Guest Choken One Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 No I meant like the guy they always bag on shit...
Guest Lightning Flik Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Choken One: Woody Paige (Idiot that no one likes but makes a good point every once in a well and can be funny at times) Woody Paige is the panel member that everyone LIKES, not despises. IMO, in order of quality of panel judging by their content, it goes: Paige Mariotti ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Holley ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...then Bob Ryan. Hey. I don't think anyone hates me. I could be the Woody Paige wannabe~! *Can hear everyone erupt into laughter over this* ...ok, ok. I take a hint.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 It goes like this, for Around the Horn guys: Woody and Jay tied for 1st Bill Plaschke Michael Holley Tim Cowlishaw Kevin Blackistone anyone else is too marginal to count. Where's Bob Ryan been? He came back for like a week after the Jason Kidd thing and now Holley took his place again.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 I hate both shows (PTI/AtH).. Although I do enjoy Craig Kilbourn's WHAT UP? (Rip off of AtH)
