Guest The Upright Man Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 I am very sorry to say that Jackson Freely, who posted here under the name “The Upright Man,” has recently passed away. My condolences go out to anybody that he may have formed a friendship with during his time on the board. R.I.P Jackson Freely 1980-2003
Guest Chuck E Cheese Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Sorry to hear about that, but who are you then?
Guest razazteca Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Apperently he took a sick puro head bump in the video game forum............death match indeed.
Guest The Upright Man Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 did you ever post here? I have posted here a few times before, using the same screen name. When did he pass away? Almost a day ago actually.
Guest Gathering Moss Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Apperently he took a sick puro head bump in the video game forum............death match indeed. That was real classy, asshole. Anyway, I’m sorry to hear it. Even though I really never talked to him, his posts definitely became the highlight of the board for me.
Guest crandamaniac Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Didn't something like this happen with Crucifixio Jones? Where he supposedly died and his wife posted about it.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Ah yes Crandamaniac, the death of Highspot, who split into Crucifixio Jones and PORNFAQ. That was lame.
Guest AM The Kid Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Well, I'm sorry to hear that. And geez, will some of you assholes get a heart and a brain. Great post to be a dick right guys?! Board heels? Idiots...
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Marney's Law of Online Deaths: anyone declared dead on the Internet by the forum post, instant message, or email of a friend, lover, or relative isn't. Corollary: the former person is identical with the latter. Addendum: to prove the Law, ask for a location and an obituary column in a printed newspaper. Check any information given offline.
Guest Downhome Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 I'm sorry to hear this also, even though I've never even heard of the poster. With that said, posing this in NHB just begs for someone to flame away. Why is this not in General instead? Not to be an ass myself, but the simple act of this being posted in this forum says to me that this might not be true. Still, we'll never know if it's true or not by a simple post, so whatever.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 With his one dying wish, "Tell people on TSM I'll be dead"
Guest Chuck E Cheese Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 This pizza mouse isn't buying this whole death angle. Bad form.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 We've gotten so cynical, we can't even take a death seriously. What's next, he gets posthumously banned?
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 You know, for anyone who doesn't believe this is real: The classy thing to do would be to not post in this thread.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Didn't know the guy. But sorry to hear that none the less.

Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 I've seen funnier, Chuck.
Guest Chuck E Cheese Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 I've seen funnier, Chuck. me too, but it fit.
Guest SP-1 Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Not really. If it is indeed true, then I'm sorry to hear that. Out of a morbid curiosity, was it at least a peaceful death of sorts?
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 You know, for anyone who doesn't believe this is real: The classy thing to do would be to not post in this thread. Suck me, beautiful.

Suck me, beautiful. HA HA HA HA~!! OMG AMERICAN PIE QUOTES! okay, this guy didn't die. the pizza mouse wants proof.

Suck me, beautiful. HA HA HA HA~!! OMG AMERICAN PIE QUOTES! okay, this guy didn't die. the pizza mouse wants proof. Why? Does it matter? If he's dead or if he's not, it has no effect on you. Just leave the thread and let it be. Because if the guy did die, you're veering into dangerous teritory.
Guest The Old Me Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 You know, for anyone who doesn't believe this is real: The classy thing to do would be to not post in this thread. Suck me, beautiful. HA HA HA HA~!! OMG AMERICAN PIE QUOTES! okay, this guy didn't die. the pizza mouse wants proof. What the fuck kind of proof? You my friend, are a complete dipshit. Sorry to hear about the loss.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 What the fuck kind of proof? Addendum: to prove the Law, ask for a location and an obituary column in a printed newspaper. Check any information given offline. I'd check with the local coroner's office as well; county-by-county contact information can be found on official state web pages, or through state CME offices. As an example, click here for Virginia.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 It's a shame if it's true, but if it's not or you think it's not, then no need to post here. In all fairness, the "death" of Highspot was so far fetched and over the top that it was pretty obvious that it was a hoax, while this seems more simple and straight to the point. And whether Chuck E is a gimmick poster or not, he's annoying as hell and about as smart as the typical visitor of the establishment on which he has based his name.
Guest Memphis Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Apperently he took a sick puro head bump in the video game forum............death match indeed. You're a fucking tool. Sorry to hear. Can't say I ever noticed that username around, however saddening news none the less.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 It's a shame if it's true, but if it's not or you think it's not, then no need to post here False. I take death seriously, and anyone attempting to fake a death for the purpose of garnering sympathy or making people feel bad is beneath contempt. Since that encompasses the vast majority of online "deaths," I treat any post concerning such things with extreme skepticism. If someone has indeed died, the required information will be easy to obtain and easy to confirm. If no one has died, the information will not be confirmed. The state CME offices investigate each and every sudden death in their jurisdiction and full records are kept. These records are completely public, and there is no possible circumstance under which such deaths could not be confirmed by independent official sources. The original poster needs to put up or shut up.
