I don't know what happened at WDI...

Considering the "stalking my ex" routine you've employed in the past, I find that shocking...

that you would lie about it.

...but I can say without a doubt that nothing good comes from there so I'm not surprised more problems arose there.

Yeah, I remember one time there was some fuckbag that went to great lengths to provoke other members, with stupid childlike insults, got banned and resorted to harassing people on AIM to bitch at them about how unfair he was treated.

But we're feeling much better now.

trolling witch hunts are overrated. i have an example of trolling in my sig, and no one seems to care. used excessively, of course, it's annoying, but it's harmless when used with discretion.

Yeah and you still need your ass kicked for that one GTD. There are some places you just don't go when trolling, that's one of them.

i'm guessing this was made public to make an example out of eagan & serve as a general warning to others like eagan with the "stale act of public floggings and attention/approval seeking." this way he can, in essence, tell all those people to knock it off without having to PM them all.

Bingo. If it's something small or stupid, use a PM. If it's something that EVERYONE should be warned not to do, posting it in public only makes sense.

That's pretty much correct. Eagan isn't the only person to be on a massive ban-happy witchhunt lately, but he's the most visible and by far, the most confrontational of them all. I've already posted my growing frustration with the witch hunt mentality in another thread in NHB which escapes my memory.

When I get 5 "Reported Post from TSM" e-mails from the same person on the same subject a day, combined with three or four threads on it, it gets very VERY annoying.

Anorak, I do have an ego...yes. However, I tend to keep that in check here. If anything, some people say that I'm too humble. I can openly make fun of myself, but I am insecure. I walk a fine line. I honestly don't see how that has anything to do with making an announcement public.

Wait wait wait.

THAT'S what this is about?

You mean you don't want me to alert you when Prince Paul is spamming the hell out of your board? I'll take note of that.

I don't see why he would need 5 different emails letting him know when it's blatantly obvious

Did I SAY that's what this was about?

I was only citing a specific example. Did you bother reading the rest of my post?

:: shrugs shoulders ::

I reported the posts Chuck E Cheese made that were obviously spam. I didn't know that was wrong, as the "report a post" feature must be there for some reason.

That's true, but I thought the point of "report a post" was to alert mods who currently aren't active on the board that there's a problem.

Hence the 5 "annoying" E-Mails that Dames received yesterday.

You know, I'm not in support of lynchmob bannings or anything, but I wouldn't argue too much with one for Eagan. He's a human waste of precious oft-mentioned bandwidth, who posts in literally nothing but post whore threads, and post whores in non-post whore threads. He's irritating, childish, slow-witted, and unfunny. Dare I say it, the worst poster on the board. He's all the bad qualities of BubbleBoy and Johnson rolled into one.

Just because people don't care for my "arguing style" doesn't mean I am a bad poster. So keep my name out of this shit, if you wiiiillll!

^ People compare me to this guy?

Christ almighty.

We actually agree on something!

How in god's name could someone compare me to a bumbling idiot like yourself?

Snackwell's used to have these cookies like 10 years ago that were the shit.

They were little round chocolate cake cookies with a dab of chocolate frosting in the middle.

I wonder if they still make them...

I find it highly ironic that in the end, Dames' thread about Eagan was worse the (of all people) Prince Paul's thread about Eagan.

what dames said: using the "report this post" feature five times about the same poster is excessive and irritating.

what eagan's "dames straw man" said: how dare you use the "report this post" feature at all! you have the balls to tell me how to do MY job? you're not supposed to use it, you dumb shit!

the moral of this story: when you argue, it helps if you take into account what the other person is actually saying, rather than twisting their words into something else so that you can dispute it easier.
