ravenlo Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Hey guys, I'm mainly talking about the Nwa 1989 and any years before....I thought it would be interesting to see which wrestlers came out to real music in the nwa...here's all I could think of for now: Dusty Rhodes-Purple Rain(around 1984) Manny Fernandez-Beat It Steiner Brothers-Welcome to the Jungle Road Warriors-Iron Man Any others?
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Dusty also used: "Old Time Rock 'N Roll" (when teaming with Ronnie Garvin) "You Can't Judge A Book (By Looking At The Cover)" by Hank Williams Jr./Huey Lewis "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler
Guest Super Leather Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Jimmy Garvin used to come out to the tune of ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man." As a little kid watching NWA Worldwide, that made the guy pretty cool in my eyes. Of course, taking his actual in-ring skill under consideration, that was probably the best part about the guy not counting Precious. I also loved the Road Warriors coming out to "Iron Man," and that's actually how I got into Black Sabbath. For that and their haircuts, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Hawk and Animal.
cawthon777 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 The Samoan Swat Team used the theme song from Halloween. Terry Funk used a fantastic song during his stint in 89. I don't recall the name but it was from an old Spaghetti Western from the 60s.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 The New Breed came out to a Beastie Boys song (but they were only there for a short period of time.)
ravenlo Posted August 4, 2003 Author Report Posted August 4, 2003 That Terry Funk song is from the movie "Once upon a time in the west" and its done by Ennio Morricone, from what I remember...
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 The Midnight Express used "The Chase" for much of their run.
Guest Choken One Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 That Terry Funk song is from the movie "Once upon a time in the west" and its done by Ennio Morricone, from what I remember... yeah..That owned. Didn't he use Desperado as well? Or was that just ECW?
Guest OldSkoolNWA Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Rock -n- Roll Express came out to an ELO song (Rock and Roll is King, I think). http://home.comcast.net/~oldskoolnwa/
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Kerry Von Erich came out to "Working Man" by Rush
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Kerry Von Erich came out to "Working Man" by Rush I thought he used to use 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush somewhere....
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I thought it was Tom Sawyer too, because he was the Modern Day Warrior. Maybe he used both?
Guest OldSkoolNWA Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Chris Adams - Won't Back Down - Tom Petty Jimmy Garvin - Sharp Dressed Man - ZZTop Windam & Rotunda - Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen and of course..... The Orange Goblin - Eye of the Tiger - Survivor http://home.comcast.net/~oldskoolnwa/
Guest Dmann2000 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Hmmmm, I swore it was "Working Man", but I think you're right it was "Tom Sawyer". Just watching Halloween Havoc '89 and Brian Pillman came out to "Rocket" by Def Leppard.
nl5xsk1 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 It was Tom Sawyer that Kerry Von Erich used. And Kevin Von Erich used to use Stranglehold, by Ted Nugent. For a couple of coked up dimwitted hicks, the Von Erichs had some pretty good taste in music.
shlidgn90 Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 world class had cool entrance music. the best theme ever: rick rude-smooth operator by sade
alfdogg Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 The Freebirds came out to "Freebird" for a little while. Doom's original theme was "Her Strut" by Bob Seger.
nl5xsk1 Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 world class had cool entrance music. the best theme ever: rick rude-smooth operator by sade if my memory serves me correctly, it was prefaced with a woman cooing "ooh, Ricky, you're so ravishing" before the song actually started.
