Create A Match

Recommended Posts

If you were to create a match then what would it be. I will be thinking up more as I go along. Mine would be a "Falls Count Anywhere Cage Match". It starts in the back and ends in the cage!!

How could it be Falls Count Anywehere if it's GOT to end in a cage? Couldn't they pin eachother before they get to the ring?

Glass Ceilling Match:

The ropes are removed, and all around the ring, from apron to barrier is fulled with Glass Tables, forming a huge platform (there are no gaps) and the barrier counts as the ring ropes.

Here is another. A Titantron match. Basically it is falls count anywhere for awhile (I know... I am big on falls count anywhere matches don't you think?) Then you have to beat up the backstage crew! The first one to get their titantron slides to play on the tron wins the match! As for the falls count anywhere cage thing... It does NOT have to end in the cage. The cage would like play a crucial part once they reach the ring. ;)

that match is anticlimatic because you KNOW they would make it to the cage...kinda like gimmicked 2/3 fall matches...you know they'll get to the third fall no matter what...

Ahh, Triple H's specialty.

3 Ways to Win Match

To defeat your opponent you have to get three types of wins from these choices (pinfall, submission, knockout for ten seconds, table, and first blood) in any order. Yeah it would be an overbooked mess, but dammit I want to see it.

Total Destruction match: First wrestler to bleed his opponent into unconsciousness wins.

Also, not really an innovative match, but for a Falls Count Anyway in the City match, I'd like to see two wrestlers fight outside of the city limits and get counted out. That'd be funny.

I want to see a match that gets more and more violent as it goes on.

For example...

The first five minutes is done under pinfall only rules.

If you can't win in 5 minutes it becomes an I quit match.

The next 5 could bring in a ladder with something tied to the roof (although I would really only use this in title matches anyway).

If it's still not over you could lower the cage for the next five and so on.

A death match I always used in my e-feds:

The House of Glass.

4 Trophy cases on the four guardrail corners chock full of glass goodies, and just for kicks, a light tube log cabin structure near the ramp. Oh yeah.

Bloodbath rules.

Match cannot technically begin until all participants are bleeding. Only after that point can pinfalls and submissions count.

Use this all the time in the AKI games.

Ladder match in a cage, with the stips being that you have to leave the cage and have both feet on the ground. Only way to escape the cage is through a hole in the ceiling of the cage (thus the ladder).

You could modify it so the cage covers the entire ringside area (like a HITC). Or change the ladder to a scaffold.

TNA actually did that, with one little dif. You can only lose if you are bleeding. Not the whole team.

I always liked the idea I read in Foley's book-

Last Blood match- Battle royal with like 20 guys, last man bleeding wins.

I've come up with a few for my e-fed and in fantasy booking...

"High Stakes Match" - Two teams of 6 men each fight with everybody having something big on the line (champions can have their titles on the line, others can have their careers or their hair or whatever)...Whoever is pinned to lose the match loses what they had on the line...Only that one person loses what they put on the line...

"Triangle Turbulance" - It's a three way dance, but the catch is each guy is given a specific person they have to pin/make submit to win...So if it were wrestler A vs. wrestler B vs. wrestler C, wrestler A would have to pin wrester C to win, wrestler C would have to pin wrestler B to win, and wrestler B would have to pin wrestler A to win...

"BYOW: Bring Your Own Weapon" - The name explains it all...

"Ultimate Combat Zone" - It's war games meets hell in a cell meets the ladder match...There are two rings with a "cell" covering both...Six guys fight in the match with one entering every five minutes (starts with two guys though)...Once all six are in, wrestlers can begin trying to get a ladder, set it up, climb it and retrieve the title belt that is hanging in from the top of the cell...

"Boston Massacre Match" - The name needs a little work, I'll admit that, but the idea is no disqualifications, falls count anywhere, and to win you need to pin your opponent two consecutive times...So it's sort of like an iron man match, only with no time limit, and things keep going until one guy can get two pins in a row...

"BLT: Barbwire, Ladders, and Tables" - Yeah, it was my TLC rip off, but then it gives me an excuse to say "BLT...mmm mmm good!"...Also the added element of barbwire covering the top rope makes things that much more brutal...

"Elf Match" - It's a lumberjack match, with all of the lumberjacks being midgets dressed as elves...Can't you just smell the ratings?...

Ladder Bowl Match

You get anywhere from 4 to 8 guys in this match. The ONLY way you can WIN the match is by retrieving the title off the ladder. BUT you can be ELIMINATED by pinfall or submission until it gets down to the last two. Let me explain this better

all the wrestlers are in the ring at the same time. This would work well with like six or four wrestlers. You want to eliminate an opponent you can pin or make them submit. The only time you can't win by pinfall or submission is if it gets down to two guys. HOWEVER you can also win the match without anyone getting eliminated if you get the title. I know its confusing but I think it'd be a twist to the ladder match concept.

That's just a First Blood match. Everyone and their mom has done that one.

With mine, the match "technically" can't start (i.e. pinfalls and submissions) until everyone is juicing.

And that last idea, the ladder bowl, I've toyed with, but never wrote a match around it. Not trying to steal thunder or anything, since it's a good idea.
