Lil' Bitch Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Randy Orton's in the main event...isn't this going to be his first PPV (that he performs in) ?
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Let's not get crazy. Brock got the push of all pushes (as did Angle) and made something out of it. Cena and Orton have yet to even be secondary champions and haven't won on pay per view in months as far as I can recall. Yeah, that was kind of a general blanket statement. However, Cena and Orton are being pushed harder than Jericho, RVD, and Benoit right now. The difference with those guys and the homegrown guys is that the homegrown guys may get multiple chances to get over while the smark fav's get one, two shots if they are lucky. Yah and even worse is that Jericho & RVD took their chance and made something great out of it, only to be rewarded with burial after burial.
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Just to add more fuel to the fire, Triple H said in an interview that he considered Orton & Batista his personal pet projects and would get them over if it killed him. So it looks like there is a lot of Orton in the future.
Gert T Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I could see HBK or Jericho winning setting up the re-match at Unforgiven if HHH is going to miss some time, and if Vince really wants to bury Goldberg he'll still have Goldberg-HHH at Unforgiven and have HHH go over without any title on the line. The only reason I am upset that Randy Orton is in this match, is that there may be enough room for Test-Steiner II now
Guest Y2Kurt Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 hahaha you people think Orton is gona Win. Already bitching and He hasnt even Won the Title Yet. *shakes head* By the way,Y2J Will Win
KTID Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I can't believe the main event of second biggest show of the year has Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Randy Orton in it, and someone starts a thread to complain about Randy Orton's involvement.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 HBK is better than Orton in every category, and at least Nash gets a reaction 70% of the time.
KTID Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 But surely you wouldn't support putting the title on a part-timer who rarely works house shows, is well past their prime and a proven ratings loser over a full-time worker with a full career ahead of them.
Guest Downhome Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 You saying you'd rather have Orton with the title instead of say, HBK?
Guest Choken One Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 HBK and Nash might be dinosaurs but they are dinosaurs with *some* heat.
KTID Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Of course. Now don't get me wrong, i think Orton is a bad choice to push and i think that he'll fail miserably if pushed. BUT, i'd much rather they attempt to push someone new, as opposed to someone already proven to be a failure(HBK, Nash).

If the full timer is among the worst all around guys in the company I would.
Detective Comics Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I doubt he is getting the title. The only reason he is in the match is because he is involved with HBK, and it makes sense. And if he gets the title..... at least its not HHH?
Guest Choken One Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 However...I'm still holding out Hope that Orton well...Ortonizes himself soon and Flair is subbed in the match... Nah....Test will be subbed.

And if he gets the title..... at least its not HHH? I'd MUCH rather HHH keep it instead of Orton picking it up. HHH has had it for so long, it would be a fucking waste to just give it to Orton.
Guest Choken One Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 You realize how bad you suck if the IWC would perfer HBK, GOLDBERG, NASH to be the champion over you? Poor Randy...No wait...Poor Us.
Guest Downhome Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I wonder if this match, or Angle/Brock, will be the main event.

Guest Downhome Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I wonder if this match, or Angle/Brock, will be the main event. Seems like this would. I dunno, I wouldn't bet on it yet. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how they book Angle/Brock. If they don't have faith in this match, it wouldn't suprise me at all to see Angle/Brock to once again headline.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 You kinda have to headline with the elimination chamber since the match will be very long and mostly burn out the crowd at the end
Guest Anglesault Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I want Angle/Brock to main, because I want the match to mean something. But there is just TOO much political clout in the chamber, and it kind of is an end of the show match
Guest Choken One Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Problem is this... We seem to think Lesnar and Orton will walk out of Summer Slam the Champions... Since the Brand split...WHEN has both companies have TWO Heels walk out of the show new champion?

But there is just TOO much political clout in the chamber, and it kind of is an end of the show match It might also depend on who they plan on putting the title on I imagine. If they did give it to Orton, I highly doubt they'd end their show with that.

Since the Brand split...WHEN has both companies have TWO Heels walk out of the show new champion? I don't think Lesnar will walk out with the title. As a matter of fact, I highly doubt it. My money is on Angle picking up the win and moving on to Eddy, while Brock goes on to face another face for a short while.

If the full timer is among the worst all around guys in the company I would. HBK and Nash might be dinosaurs but they are dinosaurs with *some* heat. But both HBK and Nash are proven failures as champion. Why bother giving them another reign. At least Orton is something new. So, he'll probably fail just like HBK and Nash. BUT, wouldn't it be better to have it be someone who's new but you think will fail, as opposed to someone who's had plenty of opportunites and failed every time. At least he *might*, though unlikely to happen, be succesful as champ, you know already HBK and Nash are failures.
Guest jester Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 If Orton wins the title, I think that will ruin any chance he has of getting over for a long time. I think he'll be universally rejected by the audience.
