tpww7 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 From the ROH board.. Once again, these came from a friend of mine who attended the show. He said attendance was probably around 700, maybe higher, maybe lower. He called at intermission, and after the show from a cell phone, so details are sketchy...... Here is what I know...... Special K of Hydro and Deranged over SAT, Carnage Crew and Fast Eddie/Don Juan Cornette joined the Prophecy in an angle involving Special K, and the Ring Crew Express (not sure what exactly happened) Nigel McGuiness over Jablonski Homicide over Chris Sabin Colt Cabana and Ace Steel over Alex Shelley and Jimmy Jacobs Matt Stryker over Justin Credible Intermission (SAT and Red were signing autographs during intermission, and were jumped by the Prophecy!!!) Michael Shane over Hotstuff Hernandez, Sylk Wagner Brown, Scoot Andrews Jimmy Rave over Slim J Samoa Joe over BJ Whitmer AJ Styles + Homicide (replacing the injured Red) over Christopher Daniels and Danny Maff Post match saw Prophecy turn on Cornette. Styles, Homicide, Samoa Joe and Red saved him. My buddy is now on his way to the after party, which happens to be directly across the street from his hotel..... Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 I'd say about 500-700 people sounds right. I've seen lots of TNA & HWA so I'd probably say I've seen about half of the roster wrestle before. The opening match was the first ever scramble match I've seen and I'd say I agree with Jim Cornette assertion that it looked like those eight guys threw their necks in a blender and put it on puree. Homicide was the replacement for Red, and the crowd popped when his music hit, but got restless when he was face-in-peril, and really wanted to see AJ. I wasn't really impressed with Samoa Joe in his match against BJ Whitmer, but it was the first time I saw him, so I can't really judge him. A trainer came out to check on Justin Credible after his match with Matt Stryker, to check out his neck after a DVD. He didn't roll over right away when Styrker tried to pin him. The four way singles match with Hot Stuff/Michael Shane/Slyk Brown/Scoot took a lot time to build, but the crowd went nuts towards the end. Hot Stuff Hernandez just tossed everybody around like children. All in all a pretty good show in that 90 degree oven the Fairgrounds, and I just have another ROH question, per show how many times do guys flip over the guard rail? It had to have happened at least 5 times tonight, just wondering because it can't be that healthy, and at least half of the time, there was no warning to the crowd. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 What was MOTN? How long did the tag match and title match go?
Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 I'd say the tag and ROH title matches were both between 12-15 minutes with the tag title match going a little longer. MOTN is a tough call, the scramble match was obviously very entertaining, and really I thought 7 of the 9 matches were good. I might say the tag main event because it was an old school tag match or the four way match with Michael Shane, but the first ten minutes were almost brutally long, and I would say that part kind of diminished the ending a bit. I got another question, does Chris Sabin wrestle a more mat-based wrestling style in ROH now that he's been in TNA for awhile?
