Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted August 13, 2003 (edited) I know it's almost become a cliché to use XPW for your EWR diary around here, but it's such an easy target. Anyway, I'm not sure if I can be as funny as Zack or Deacon, but I figured I'd give it a shot all the same. Also, my goal is not to necessarily put on bad matches, but just run the fed as I see fit and still make it funny. My post-match comments will appear in italics throughout the diary. So, yeah, read the show and provide any feedback you have. Tell me what you'd like to see or something you don't like even. I'm always open to suggestion. ~ CRD --------------- XPW TV Friday, September 5, 2003 XPW Arena Hosts: Kris Kloss, Ed Ferrara RACIAL PROFILING MATCH Two Guys In Lucha Masks vs. Southern Comfort Match Background: None. The Match: Flying reverse elbow by Chris Hamrick. Tag to Scorpio Sky. Hard back suplex on Scorpio. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Tag between Chris Hamrick and Tracy Smothers. Vicious back suplex! Scorpio Sky got nailed big time! Tag between Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver. BRAINBUSTAH~! by Tracy Smothers! Smothers hits a great swinging DDT on Quicksilver. Smothers then hits a pair of HARD clotheslines and a BAAACK Bodydrop! ULTIMATE HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Tracy Smothers moves in for the kill. Swinging Neckbreaker! 1....2....3. My Opinion: It was close to a ** match, but I just can't stand too many blown spots. *3/4 Quality: 59% (37, 81) Southern Comfort debuted their new redneck gimmick here, because the whole racist thing wasn’t good enough for my writing staff. I probably should have jobbed them here but, well… we’ll wait just a bit longer and see what I can come up with. Shane Douglas is in the ring, and makes an open challenge for anyone to come out and face him. Out from the back comes the debuting Jim Duggan. He hits the ring and attacks. Shane Douglas can barely stand. Running Clothesline! Douglas got beaten down by the debuting Jim Duggan. After he regains his composure, Douglas challenges Duggan to meet him in the first round of the XPW World title match… TONIGHT! Quality: 75% Shane Douglas debuted his new arrogant gimmick here, and Jim Duggan invades XPW! Why? Merely to put a couple of guys over before I put him out to pasture. Enjoy it while it lasts, tough guy! Hoooo! BECAUSE WE HAVE NO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Altar Boy Luke vs. Jonny Storm Match Background: Jonny and Luke are currently feuding. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. This match is for the XPW European title. The Match: Implant DDT by Jonny Storm! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Jonny crushes Luke with a huge legdrop. There's a two count on the pin. Luke kicks Jonny Storm in the gut to reverse the momentum. Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and Jonny goes down. Luke uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Covers for a quick two count. Tiger suplex on Jonny. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, dammit. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Jonny counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Jonny crushes Luke with a huge legdrop. There's a two count on the pin. Tor-NADO DDT from Jonny Storm, Luke got planted! Pin, but Luke is out just before the three count. Jonny hits a dropkick on Altar Boy Luke and gets right back up. Spinning back kick from Jonny Storm. Jonny Storm misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Luke uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Tiger suplex on Jonny. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! The bell rings. The referee declares that the time limit has expired, and the match is a draw. Jonny Storm offers a handshake to Luke...and he accepts it! No! Altar Boy Luke levels Jonny with a cheap shot right hand! Altar Boy Luke slams Jonny down. Altar Boy Luke climbs to the top rope and hits the Holy Driver! Jonny Storm has been floored after the match. My Opinion: I'll give a 3/4 star rating, but only if you promise to improve as a booker. Quality: 55% (41, 70) I thought about getting rid of the European title and instituting a Light Heavyweight title or something, but ended up changing my mind. I’ll probably use it as my de facto belt for the lighter guys, much like WCW did with the Television title for a short time before they instituted the Cruiserweight belt. Vic Grimes is in the ring. Supreme comes out, and challenges him to a match at the next show. Grimes accepts and asks if Supreme’s Deathmatch title will be on the line. Supreme shrugs and says if Grimes wants to pay the $25 to get it out of hock, he’ll defend it against him. Quality: 47% It seems Supreme has fallen on hard times and hocked his Deathmatch title, but if Grimes gets it back for him, he'll gladly defend it. I wonder if Rob Black ever thought of pawning the titles for a little cash? GUESS WHO’S GOING OVER MATCH Match Background: Duggan is making his debut at this show. He is a regular with WWA. The Match: Duggan walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Spear! Duggan is down! Shane Douglas scores with a standing spinebuster. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Shane Douglas with a spinning neckbreaker on Duggan. Hooks the leg for a two count. Jim Duggan elbows Shane Douglas in the face to break a hammerlock. Weak bodyslam on Douglas by Duggan sets up a legdrop. Jim Duggan DDTs Douglas, but it just looked terrible. Douglas flips out of a Jim Duggan bodyslam attempt. Spinebuster by Shane Douglas. Jim Duggan is in trouble. Franchiser!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Shane Douglas remains in the ring, celebrating the victory. My Opinion: Not good enough to earn an entire star. 3/4* for you. Quality: 68% (72, 59) Duggan puts Douglas over and “The Franchise” advances to the next round of the tournament. Can Douglas last long enough with the “new” XPW to claim the title he never lost? We’ll see. Overall Rating: 62% TV Rating: 0.23 Attendance: 303 people Gate: $6,060 Next week’s main event will serve a dual purpose as it will be a part of the World title tournament and for the Deathmatch title as well if Grimes can come up with the $25 to get it from the pawn shop. Also, Jim Duggan’s 2-match contract will expire and he’s going to go out with a BANG! Edited August 14, 2003 by The Notorious CRD

Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted August 14, 2003 XPW TV September 12, 2003 XPW Arena We open this week with Jim Duggan walking backstage. He meets up with newcomer Tommy Chill and extends his hand. Chill smirks and starts walking off, prompting Duggan to ask, “What’s the problem, tough guy?!” Chill turns around, looks Duggan in the (good) eye and says, “You, ya dinosaur. Just you. Got a problem with that?” Duggan puffs out his chest and says, “Sure do! Hooooo!” Chill chuckles under his breath and says, “Fine, let’s settle in the ring. See ya there.” Quality: 65% Tommy Chill gained overness from this segment. Can he beat good ol’ Hacksaw and make a name for himself in XPW? Let’s hope so; otherwise I hired Duggan for nothing. HAIL, HAIL... AND FAREWELL Tommy Chill vs Jim Duggan Match Background: Chill is making his debut at this show. The Match: Chill slams Jim Duggan. Jim Duggan is able to duck a clothesline attempt and connect with a counter clothesline. Duggan strikes away at Tommy Chill, not doing much damage at all. Jim Duggan misses a clothesline...and takes out the referee accidentally! Duggan DDTs Tommy Chill. Hooks the leg, but the referee is still out! Tommy Chill is able to duck a clothesline attempt and connect with a counter clothesline. BAAACK Body drop by Duggan gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. Chill hits a piledriver on Jim Duggan. That used to end matches, you know. There's a two count on the pin. Massive lariat! Stan Hansen would approve. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Duggan blocks a kick from Tommy Chill. Weak bodyslam by Duggan. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Tommy Chill once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Jim Duggan can barely stand. Here it comes - Chill Factor. 1....2...3, it's finished. Tommy Chill gives a murderous look toward Jim Duggan...and attacks! Duggan gets dropped to the canvas, then battered with a barrage of rights and lefts. Chill leaves the ring having left Duggan down and out. My Opinion: Bad match which brought absolutely nothing to the table and was a waste of time. DUD. Quality: 51% (46, 56) Jim Duggan loses overness. Tommy Chill gains overness. And Duggan is ooooouttttaaaa here!! For those of you wondering what the point of this match, here’s an explanation: Tommy Chill is a friend of mine and since he’s in the game now I decided to use him. Two years ago, he faced Duggan in a match where Duggan was supposed to put him over but changed his mind ten minutes before the match. So, it was personal. Oh, and I just don’t like Hacksaw… at all. BRING ON THE SNOWFLAKES~! Super Crazy vs Shark Boy Match Background: Sharky and Crazy are currently feuding. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. The Match: Shark Boy strikes Crazy. Crazy walks into a high dropkick from Shark Boy, almost losing several teeth in the process. Second rope flying axe handle, Crazy goes down. One day, Sharky might even consider coming off the top with that. You know…for more impact and stuff. Second rope flying axe handle, Crazy goes down. One day, Sharky might even consider coming off the top with that. You know…for more impact and stuff. Super Crazy reverses a hip toss. Implant DDT by Super Crazy! Hard back suplex on Crazy. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Super Crazy is in trouble. Deep Sea Drop! 1….2….3. Super Crazy slides to the outside and grabs a chair, then climbs back into the ring. Sharky turns around…and gets planted with a huge chair shot to the head! He is left down and out on the canvas. My Opinion: I’ll give it a **1 rating, but that’s because I didn’t mark out once…but nothing was too bad. Quality: 70% (59, 82) Super Crazy debuts his new luchadore gimmick, but loses overness from the match. Shark Boy gains overness. Hopefully the matches between these two will get better with later iteration because, as you can see, they definitely have issues with each other now. Youthanazia come out to the ring for an interview. Erotica come out onto the sound stage to interrupt, and issue a challenge for a match at Damage Incorporated. Chetti and Doring make light of the fact that Prohibition and Cross started out as backyward wrestlers. Prohibition says at least his claim to fame isn’t being Tazz’s cousin or for tagging with a chicken f(beep)er. Oh, TAG. Quality: 55% Erotica debuted their new adult film stars gimmick to a negative response. Youthanazia both gained overness from the segment. These two teams will meet at Damage Incorporated for the XPW Tag Team titles. XPW WORLD TITLE TOURNAMENT MATCH Chris Hero vs Syxx-Pac Match Background: None. The Match: Back suplex on Syxx-Pac. Hero walks into a drop toe hold. STIFF high kick on Hero by Syxx-Pac. The ref is bumped, as goes down after accidentally getting caught by an elbow to the face. DDT from the top rope by Syxx-Pac. Massive back suplex! Syxx-Pac got snapped in half, but not literally because that would just end the match now wouldn't it. There's a two count on the pin. Hero hits a great swinging DDT on Syxx-Pac. Hero then hits a pair of HARD clotheslines and a BAAACK Bodydrop! ULTIMATE HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Syxx-Pac powers out of a headlock. Hero takes a NICE hurrancarana from Syxx-Pac. Pin, but Hero is out just before the three count. Syxx-Pac charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Syxx-Pac can barely stand. Here it comes - Hero's Welcome. 1....2...3, it's finished. My Opinion: **1/4 rating for this one. Scott Keith may say that it's 'Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling', but not for me, buddy. Got to work harder to impress me. Quality: 68% (55, 81) Syxx-Pac loses overness from this match, but Chris Hero gains. There was no real point to this match except I’m using these guys in my World title tournament. I have a feeling Syxx won’t last long with me in charge because I don’t plan on putting him over much, if at all. DOUBLE JEOPARDY Vic Grimes vs Supreme Match Background: This will be a hardcore bout. This match is for the XPW King Of The Deathmatch title. The Match: Grimes slams Supreme. Supreme counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Supreme ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Vic Grimes charges, Supreme moves, and the referee is knocked silly! Powerbomb on Grimes. Hooks the leg, but the referee is still out! Grimes kicks Supreme in the gut to reverse the momentum. Supreme gets slammed onto a trash can, squashing it. Spinebuster by Vic Grimes. There's a two count on the pin. Grimes gets thrown over the table. Pin, but Grimes is out just before the three count. Vic Grimes powers out of a Supreme headlock. Supreme can barely stand. Here it comes - Victimizer. 1....2...3, it's finished. Vic Grimes remains in the ring, celebrating the victory. My Opinion: These guys worked SO HARD...for a ** rating. Something went wrong somewhere, didn't it? Quality: 65% (51, 79) The King of the Deathmatch title gains in image as Vic Grimes claims it as his own and advances to the next round of the World title tournament, where he’ll take on Shane Douglas. Overall Rating: 62% TV Rating: 0.72 Attendance: 316 people Gate: $6,320 Our next show will be Damage Incorporated. This goes AGAINST my planning, but I forgot to change the time of the event to the end of the month. We’ll work with it though. Here’s the action-packed lineup: *Southern Comfort vs. Mexico’s Most Wanted *10-Man Battle Royal (for the vacant TV title) featuring: Shark Boy, Super Crazy, Angel, Justice Pain, Jonny Storm, Chris Candido, Devon Storm, Syxx-Pac, Tommy Chill, and Altar Boy Luke *sicosis vs. Juventud Guerrera (World Title Tournament Match) *Youthanazia vs. Erotica (Tag Team Titles) *Main Event – World Title: Shane Douglas vs. Vic Grimes vs. Chris Hero vs. winner of Psicosis/Juventud See you there! Tracy Smothers taps! Southern Comfort look like they aren't done...and they attack Mexico's Most Wanted! After an exchange of blows, Halloween and Damien are laid out in the ring. My Opinion: Some blown spots really drag this match down a notch, so its ***1/2 for you. The redneck tag team lose to MMW, and aren’t too happy about it. After-event reports say that Hamrick and Smothers were spotted out in the parking lot with a long rope and some whiskey. Psychosis is walking backstage, when he meets Juventud Guerrera. They trade insults, get in each others faces, but eventually walk off without coming to blows. Sharky threw Super Crazy all the way over the top rope to the floor. No question about that one. My Opinion: All you deserve for this is *. That DOESN'T mean that you're a deputy or a cop or whatever. Quality: 70% The feud between Shark Boy and Super Crazy continues with Shark Boy claiming the TV title by throwing Super Crazy over the top rope to win the battle royal. Rumor has it that Crazy was seen using a red phone to call someone, asking to borrow some Shark Repellent Bat-Spray. LUCHA MADNESS Juventud Guerrera vs Psychosis Match Background: Juvi and Psychosis are currently feuding. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. He's happy to have the win, and evidently isn't going to hang around for Psychosis to get some payback. My Opinion: As close to a ***** match as possible...but unfortunately, it was missing something, so I can only give it ****3/4. Quality: 89% Well, this exceeded all my expectations and then some. A clean finish might have gotten that final quarter-star, but I needed to give them some fuel for their feud. A video is played, hyping the upcoming Erotica vs Youthanazia match. Quality: 58% Total filler, let’s move on. PORN AND MURDER Erotica vs Youthanazia Match Background: Erotica used to be a regular team, but have been inactive for a while. Josh Prohibition can barely stand. Here it comes - Amityville Horror. 1....2...3, it's finished. My Opinion: I really shouldn't drink when I'm reviewing matches. Especially with Scotsman, I can't drink nearly as much, so I try too hard. It was either ** or ****, but I guess I'll have to compromise and say ***. Quality: 71% Erotica claim the XPW Tag Team titles. Later reports say that they earned a different sort of tag team title with Commissioner Lizzy Borden after the event. Neither party could be reached for comment. FOR ALL THE MARBLES (OH YEAH, THE BELT TOO) Chris Hero vs Shane Douglas vs Juventud Guerrera vs Vic Grimes Match Background: This will be an elimination bout. Grimes and Douglas are currently feuding. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. This match is for the XPW World title. The Match: Grimes tastes a high angle back suplex. Shane Douglas rolls up the stunned Vic Grimes, and even puts his feet on the second rope to add insult to injury! 1....2...3! What a display of cheating from Shane Douglas. My Opinion: I really shouldn't drink when I'm reviewing matches. Especially with Scotsman, I can't drink nearly as much, so I try too hard. It was either ** or ****, but I guess I'll have to compromise and say ***. Quality: 74% Shane Douglas is YOUR XPW World Champion, or will be as soon as we have the presentation ceremony. Commissioner Lizzy Borden comes to the ring and enters the ring. Borden holds up the XPW World title belt. After a short speech, she awards the title to Shane Douglas. Quality: 64% Overall Rating: 79% Attendance: 1,469 Gate: $44,070 Overall, a pretty good event and one I’m happy with. Two new superstars will make their XPW debut in the near future. One will be a main event player, but the other is farther down the card. Look for an announcement on XPW TV in the near future. Haven’t seen any feedback so far, but would like to. If anyone has something to say, feel free. If not, I’ll just discontinue the diary and let the others have their fun.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 I've been reading man, and it's good. While Deacon and myself have taken XPW and played it for laughs, you're actually trying to do something with it. I'm looking forward to seeing how far you come with them in the game.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2003 CRD, trust me. You are doing fine. Keep at it. Also, if you've got a TV show, try signing 10 guys you'd know you'd use every TV show episode. This way, you can also claim the house show money as well. Otherwise, solidly built XPW. Kinda interesting to see it built as a credible fed.

Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Okay, since people seem to enjoy my attempt at getting XPW noticed as a serious fed, I’m going to focus more on that. Along those lines, the following wrestlers have been placed under written contract: Altar Boy Luke, Chris Hero, Damien 666, Halloween, Josh Prohibition, Justice Pain, Matt Cross, Pogo the Clown, Quicksilver, Scorpio Sky, Tommy Chill, and Vic Grimes. In addition, the two new wrestlers I’ll be introducing in the next few cards are under written contract as well. Now then, on with the show… XPW TV Friday, September 19, 2003 XPW Arena Opening Interview: Shane Douglas is in the ring, and makes an open challenge for anyone to come out and face him. Quality: 52% Tommy Chill continues his struggle to make a name for himself in XPW, but comes up on the short end of the stick here tonight against Justice Pain. Youthanazia come out, and announce that they have found a new manager to be in their corner. Out from the back comes Joel Gertner, apparently making his debut as the new manager of Josh Prohibition and Matt Cross. Quality: 56% With Youthanazia having such low charisma, I figured they needed a mouthpiece and thus Joel Gertner will be doing their talking for them from here on out. Both Vampiro and Joel Gertner are under written contract, but Gertner is not the second man I was hyping. As time goes on, I’m going to try focusing on using the guys I have under contract for the TV shows and keeping those who work on paid appearances at a minimum so that they’re free to work the big shows. That’s it for now. Hope you all enjoyed reading.

I turned them because I was lacking in heel tag teams to throw Erotica in the ring against. Problem solved. Lizzy Borden is backstage in her office. The debuting Nova walks in, and asks what he has to do to get a job. Lizzy Borden says that he has to prove that he is good enough first. Borden books him against Juventud Guerrera, and tells him that if he can win, he can have a full-time job. Oh, and she’ll also be the guest referee. Quality: 73% Nova comes to XPW and if he defeats Juventud Guerrera here tonight, he’ll receive an XPW contract. Jonny Storm vs. Super Crazy Match Background: This match is for the XPW European title. Also, XPW has acquired another company. The Canadian Wrestling Federation (CWF) is now a part of XPW. However, we are only retaining the services of two of their wrestlers: Ruckus and Mikey Henderson. We have also acquired their title belts and their membership status in the NWA. This leads to the biggest change of all. On January 1st, 2004, XPW will change their name to NWA Xtreme (NWA-X). Further details about this new promotion will be revealed later on but... expect the unexpected.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2003 Whoa now, is that NWA deal just fantasy booking on your part, or does that really happen in the update? Because that's actually a pretty neat twist that you fall under the NWA banner if you buy out an affiliated promotion.
