Lightning Flik Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Thanks for the vids. And frankly, it looks quite good from what I can see. At Test missing his Titantron vid in .mov #10~!
Insane Bump Machine Posted August 15, 2003 Author Report Posted August 15, 2003 The one thing I really hate is that all the new WWE games are butchering The Rock's awesome entrance. I don't need the extended No Way Out version, but they could at least get his normal entrance right.

I don't need the extended No Way Out version, but they could at least get his normal entrance right. Yah, I noticed that as well. ...oh yes. Have you seen #15? It's the Taker squashing of Cena. Except no A-Train, no chainshot, nothing else. Just Taker beating the living hell out of him.
Fökai Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 The one thing I really hate is that all the new WWE games are butchering The Rock's awesome entrance. I don't need the extended No Way Out version, but they could at least get his normal entrance right. What movie? (considering I have dial-up) #1 is Austin's entrance at XIX, just for other dial-up'ers refusing to wait for some of these movies to download.
Fökai Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 #2 is Goldberg's entrance at XIX (great graphics).
Lightning Flik Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Just curious, but I believe it's in video 4 (I think, might be in 3). Isn't Goldberg using the Last Rites as a reg move? Or is that another variation? Cause I'm curious as to what the hell that move was.
Insane Bump Machine Posted August 15, 2003 Author Report Posted August 15, 2003 I added descriptions so you can just dl the ones you're interested in. Edit: Sorry Bravesfan
Fökai Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 In our last story on the subject, we asked our readers what match-ups they'd like to see next. And while we received hundreds of varying responses from all over the globe, five of them in particular caught our attention. Split into four movies each, your pals at IGN have supplied the top five most popular match-ups and have readily made them available on our media page below. But wait! What five matches were they? Good question. In order of popularity, they were: 1.) "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Bill Goldberg 2.) Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The Hurricane 3.) The Rock vs. Test (Why? I have no idea) 4.) John Cena vs. The Undertaker 5.) Batista vs. Kevin Nash (in a ladder match!) Note: The videos are taken from an unfinished build of WWE Smackdown! Certain sound effects, music, or similar features have not been fully implemented yet. In short, don't get pissy if something is missing. Chances are it'll be in there by the end of October Here's the movie key: 1 - Stone Cold's Intro (Work in Progress) 2 - Goldberg Intro - Wrestlemania (Work in Progress) 3 - Cuz Stone Cold Says So! 4 - The Stunner 5 - Rey-Rey's Intro (Work in Progress) 6 - Hurricane's Intro (Work in Progress) 7 - Squirrelly Antics 8 - Ouch! 9 - The Rock's Intro (Work in Progress) 10 - Test's Intro (Work in Progress) 11 - Grappling all over 12 - The People's Elbow 13 -John Cena's Intro (Work in Progress) 14 - Undertaker's Intro (Work in Progress) 15 - Severe ass kicking 16 - The Last Ride 17 - Batista's Intro (Work in Progress) 18 - Kevin Nash's Intro (Work in Progress) 19 - Who's the better big man? 20 - Ladder action
Guest Nightscrawler Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Some of the moves that Rey does look pretty sweet.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 This will rule. The only thing that could kill my anticipation is a Necrophelia angle, although the prospect of seeing Ted DiBiase fucking a mannequin is funny.
DangerousDamon Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Cena has his throwbacks. Well one so far.
Anakin Flair Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 wait, I can't believe nobody brought this up- Bautistia Kevin Nash LADDER MATCH?!

Insane Bump Machine Posted August 18, 2003 Author Report Posted August 18, 2003 (edited) Even more new movies (high resolution, 640x480): Steiner vs Flair, new submission system in effect (Flair grabs the bottom rope to break a hold), Flair sells back and head http://swiki.che.gatech.edu/CHE-SPORTS/upl...airsteiner2.zip Jericho vs Nash Part 1 http://swiki.che.gatech.edu/CHE-SPORTS/upl...erichonash1.zip Jericho vs Nash Part 2, Y2J finishes with the Lionsault http://swiki.che.gatech.edu/CHE-SPORTS/upl...erichonash3.zip Trish vs Jazz, some moves on the outside http://swiki.che.gatech.edu/CHE-SPORTS/upl.../jazztrish1.zip Trish vs Jazz, even better look at the new submission system. As soon as a hold hurts an injured body part (red on the status icon), you have to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Otherwise you tap out, like Trish is doing here. http://swiki.che.gatech.edu/CHE-SPORTS/upl.../jazztrish3.zip The download speed is kinda slow though. Edited August 18, 2003 by Insane Bump Machine
Guest Nightscrawler Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 The new submission sytem looks good, but it looks like it doesn't work for all submissions. It works on STFs, but not Flairs headlock takedown, or Jazz's single leg crab finisher. Hopefully the end product will have all or most of the submissions programmed with the new submission sytem.

No, you got that wrong. The submission meter only appears when you attack a body part that is already hurt (hurt body parts turn red on the small body icon aside the Smackdown bar). In the video Jazz uses her Single Leg Crab finisher, but Trish's legs aren't hurt yet. That's why the new submission meter doesn't appear. Later she uses the STF which also attacks Trish's injured neck, and then the meter appears. I know that the Single Crab should actually hurt the back, but what can you do. That's WWE for you
Guest Nightscrawler Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Oh, ok then. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Guest Random Hero Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 I really hope that these videos are nothing like the finished game, because they are exactly like Smackdown 4. I'll still buy it, but just so I can back up my whinging. ...and people with stupidly long sigs (width wise) should be killed.

Guest Coffey Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I can't get them to play either, so I'm assuming that they run in Quicktime, which I refuse to download. Anyway to get around this problem?
Insane Bump Machine Posted August 20, 2003 Author Report Posted August 20, 2003 I think there are some players who can play quicktime files (Aceplayer or something), but mostly very slow and in very bad quality.
Rendclaw Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 ugh, I forgot that I didn't install quicktime on my system.
Guest KJ Brackish Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I'm glad you've taken care of things while I've been away IBM. I've been in gamefaqs posting information for SOCOM 2. I work at Game Crazy and got boxart for it. I went home and was surprised to see that NOBODY had the boxart posted, not even bestbuy.com So I decided to take it upon myself and post the SOCOM 2 boxart. I can't wait till we get the HCTP boxart in. It should be any day. I'll be awaiting it with open arms, and I will post it here 1st before I post it at gamefaqs. DFA
Rendclaw Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 this game is looking awesome.... its faster, much smoother looking..... this is going to be a VERY good game.

Just call me Dan Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 It looks as if they just stuck Batista with a regular powerbomb. his finisher has always been a sit-out version. Looks crisp and I like the generic rock in the background. He's really missing his wrist tape, and I sure hope you can change little things like that in the finished game. I can't stand these games where you can't tweak the wrestler's attire, it's ridiculous.

I guess that the normal powerbomb is Batista's secondary finisher.
