Guest Stennick Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I love John Cena's character, and I think I'd like it a lot more if I felt it was "for real" I just have a hard time believing that he's really legit, and that he's really into "rap" music. If he's not really into "rap" music then that means he doesn't write his own stuff. If he doesn't write his own stuff then there really isn't anything cool about the guy. I just feel like everytime I see him, he's surrounded in Kayfabe, like they don't want anyone to figure out that John's not really into rap, and thug life. They were never lacking in "street cred," and I'm sure they were very much into rap. HEY HEY HEY!!! Cube was not writing Rens rhymes. he was HELPING Ren write for Eazy and Dre. Clearly You haven't read, seen or heard the amount of times Cena talks about rap being his passion/hobby. It isn't a gimmick like Country Singer Jeff Jarrett... Now NOTE I'm not saying you HAVEN'T I'm just saying, I have yet to see it! So why don't you bless me with your writing and thoughful talents by posting a link here to a topic YOU started! When was the last time you heard a song by "good charlette" or "Sum 41" that was really fucking moving and all about their "hard life" I haven't heard one yet! Now granted I'm not a big listener to their type of music, but my point being, people listen to rap music to hear cool beats, and to hear guys being honest, if they got something to talk about, they do it in their songs. Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, Pac, Em, Fifty, Xhibit, Royce, just to name a few. What I was trying to say is if he doesn't write his own stuff, and we don't know what he's like outside of wrestling, how do we know he's not just kayfabe'n its been said the character was a rip off of 8 mile in the first place. Second, to the subject at hand.... All we have heard Cena rap about is WRESTLING. How has he not rapped about his life. All he talks about is his opponent before the match. Thats the extent of Cenas hip hop catalog. To be able to do what Cena has been doing you need to be able to rhyme words. Most music has lyrics that rhyme. he doesn't have to be into rap music to rhyme word.
