Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 From, and I know you'll love the source, 1wrestling... WWE is scheduled to head into Knoxville, TN on September 13 for a house show and they have announced the following match locally: World Championship Match - Chris Jericho vs. Triple H, with Ric Flair. Obviously, the lineups can change at any time with WWE, but it would appear that Jericho or HHH will come out of the SummerSlam PPV with the title. Last I heard, that was the thinking within the company. Somehow, something tells me that H will walk out with the belt. If he doesn't, the only other real candidate is Jericho since Orton isn't ready to be champion, Kevin Nash just isn't over enough to get the belt and, even if they wanted to put it on Shawn Michaels or Bill Goldberg, they can't due to the fact that neither will work many house shows. At a time when they are trying to rebuild a sagging live event business, they need the champ on the shows. ...so Jericho or HHH, I wonder who will win. I highly doubt HHH will go down in this match once again, but one never knows. If this means Jericho wins, it only means that HHH will turn face VERY soon, after Orton/Flair/Jericho destroy him. You all know how Jericho has been saying that he's now close friends with Evolution? Well, I bet that Jericho will take HHH's spot to be the somewhat, "leader", of the group. Isn't that great? I can't wait for Jericho to finally win the world title, only to drop it to a recently turned face HHH once again! YAY! Sincerely, ...Downhome...
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 That's pretty interesting, because it's likely that one would have to be a face. And with WWE selling this groin injury HHH has, he could easily be a face pretty soon (you know, the whole sympathetic thing). And who better to have a feud with for a newly turned face than arguably the most over heel of the roster?

What I'm not for however is HHH simply getting the title right back just as we all think he'll do. There is no purpose for him to get it right back, and from the looks of things since they have matches against one another after SS, that will more than likely happen if Jericho wins at SS. I feel Jericho can become one of the greatest champions ever, but by loosing the title again to HHH, this time so much quicker after winning it, it will only hurt him. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 If Triple H does indeed feud with Jericho, then there will be a 'chase' for the title. I doubt he'd just simply win the title back in the next month. It would make both guys look better if there was a chase until maybe the Rumble. That would be interesting. But alas, Goldberg will probably win the EC and HHH will win back the title at Unforgiven and not have to turn face at all.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Wow, I was sure Goldberg was going to win, but if they're advertising that, maybe Jericho does have a chance. It's funny, the last time that I would have been really surprised by the outcome of a main event without the internet was when Jericho won it the first time and now it looks like they could be pulling the shocker again. I think the Elimination Chamber match just got a whole lot more interesting. They do need to do something about that house show advertising though. They can list off the stars, but they shouldn't announce a main event until the previous PPV has concluded.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Wow, I so don't care. I just want to watch the match and see who walks away from it. Doesn't trying to figure out who wins before the match happens take all the fun away? Afterall, this is the first match in a long time where people aren't 100% sure who is going to win. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 It would be awful if Jericho and Angle were actually both champions at the same time. What would all the smarks complain about?
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 But it's fun to think of possible winners and how they would win. It's also fun to think of possible feuds.

notJames 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 I'm not trying to figure out who will win as much as I'm dreading who will win. Anyone other than Jericho walking out of the EC with the Fake Gold Belt would be utter shite*. Everyone else is either too old, too green, or too undeserving. In fact, you can file F.G.B. under all three. * The extra E is for extra excremente**. ** The other extra E is a typo.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted August 19, 2003 But alas, Goldberg will probably win the EC and HHH will win back the title at Unforgiven and not have to turn face at all. That's what I think will happen. I've mentioned it before in another thread, but according to local ads and this, the main event for Unforgiven has already been announced.
