Why go through endless feuds with far out angles and have something keep the course that's straight and true, and build a feud around a heel champion attacking the number one contender, or a face champion being on the receiving end of some nefarious acts.
Adam Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I think the last one we had was probably that tournament for SmackDown in April. I'd like to see more of that stuff. I like tournaments and number 1 contendor matches. At the moment its kjust lik e'yep, we'll have the next shot'.
Guest Goodear Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 We had a number opne contenders match leading into the last PPV to set up Kidman/Rey vs Haas/Benjamin. Anyway, number one contenders matches are about the height of lazy, seat of the pants booking. It negates the value of previous wins for both guys and makes only that one match matter. So building up ... say John Cena to the World title comes down to one match against Chris Benoit rather than slowly building him up with wins over the course of a few months. It should already be obvious just by looking at match results over the course of a month who the top contenders to titles are.
