Guest Lethargic Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I thought Jordan did just fine running the Wizards. The problem is that Jordan started playing again. Look at what he did before that. He did things the right way. He got rid of a bunch of huge terrible contracts that were holding the team down. He drafted and signed a bunch of young guys. Then the playing bug hit him. He benched the young guys, signed a bunch of over the hill players like Oakley and Russell, traded a star in waiting in Hamilton for a star waiting to fall like Stackhouse. I'd say Jordan was a much better GM than he was as a player for the Wizard. If he had never come back and had continued with the plan he started when he first got there he'd still have the job and the team would probably be competing for a playoff spot.. Thoughts? This is old news. It's not so much that he wanted to pack up and go, but he requested that there be a clause that says if business doesn't pick up in Milwaukee over the next few years, that he can have the option to relocate. Senator Herb Kohl freaked out, knowing that if he let the Bucks slip away, during an election year, he was finished. Personally I don't see Las Vegas as working. You just know something gambling-related will go terribly wrong in a matter of time. Also, Wisconsin loves its sports teams (though the other teams are not loved to the same degree as the Packers...thank God), and the Bradley Center is a good arena to play in.
