Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Just wondering because I just saw the commercial for it and nothing much is said. Plus I'm not too big on Promotions not including WWE and NWA-TNA, so I don't know who wrestles there.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 They'll show crap...that's XPW in a nutshell. Save your money.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Cool. I can use the money to buy some ROH (I've seen very little of it and obviously heard some good things about it)
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Cool. I can use the money to buy some ROH (I've seen very little of it and obviously heard some good things about it) That's a much better way to go. I think most people would agree. They actually "wrestle" there. XPW is mostly blood and guts matches, and bad ones at that.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Considering u haven't even seen it probably, Youth, it's pretty lame to give an opinion. All of the reviews of the show so far have been very good. 1Wrestling.com even put it over as a great show. You can see their review in the thread I posted in this forum on on one of the previous pages in this forum. For $14.95, it's definitely worth it, considering you also get two free XPW DVDs or VHSs if you order it. Check it out for yourself. Don't rely on others' opinions, especially those who probably haven't even seen it. The guy who reported on the show on 1Wrestling.com had never seen XPW and was very, very impressed w/ the PPV. "hey actually "wrestle" there. XPW is mostly blood and guts matches, and bad ones at that." Talk about ignorance. You're an idiot.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Ah gotta love those XPW marks. There are so many better uses of your money. Buy a ROH tape, buy Wrestlemania XIX on DVD, find AMW vs. Triple X cage match, anything from New Japan or All Japan. Just think of all those options where you know you'll get some awesome matches. And why would you spend money on a promotion when you won't know who most of the guys are. Even with the Japan promotions you can track down guys your familar with. And why would you put anything into what 1wrestling.com says?

And why would you put anything into what 1wrestling.com says? ROH tapes cost 20 bucks, unless you get one illegally. For like 15 bucks, you get two DVDs and an hour long look at the history of the promotion. WM costs over $24. About five hours of XPW stuff for $15 is a good deal. And who says you don't know who most of the guys are? Few people know who the Christopher St. Connection of ROH is, or Erik Watts of TNA.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Hmmm...ROH or XPW... The struggle continues LOL.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted August 25, 2003 I'd honestly say go for ROH. Yeah it's more money but you'll know more people since your familar with TNA. AJ Styles, Low-Ki, Chris Daniels, Raven, SATs and Red could all potentially be on the show. You might even see a TNA title defended as well.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 25, 2003 okay, explain why I should give my money to a company that has its head curently in legal trouble, [of what kind I have no info so I can't say anything] whos head company is a porn company, when the promotion runs "raw sewage matches" and other imho dumb matches, and who is best known as a wannabe of ECW. I'm serious, I want your opinion.

I'm serious, I want your opinion. Considering the Raw Sewage match was one of the most enterataining indy matches in 2002, you've just put over XPW. Who cares if it's backed by porno? ROH is backed by bootlegging video sellers. CZW has had it's issues with legal violations (NJ commission, the Terry Funk incident which I'm not in the mood to explain, the ROH controversies, false promotions, etc.). Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 25, 2003 I don't like hardcore stuff like CZW so I probaly would not like XPW anyway, but you didn't answer my question.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Here's a few reasons why: - b/c you get to see highlights of one of the most exciting indy matches of 2002, the Raw Sewage match - b/c there's nothing wrong with supporting a promotion backed by porno, since most wrestling promotions are backed by excessively controversial people, as described above - b/c it doesn't matter if they are an ECW ripoff, as long as they put on good shows. CZW, MLW, ROH, etc. could all be considered MLW ripoffs. - b/c as long as they have a good product, it doesn't matter that they're in legal trouble. If you enjoy their product, that shouldn't change whether they're in legal trouble or not.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 What was the deal with Funk and CZW? Oh, and Last Free Voice, CZW is not all strictly hardcore. There's some great junior heavies and non-deathmatch people there (Backseats, Sonjay, Jimmy Rave, B-Boy) that put on tremendous matches. Check out the Best of the Best events, as they are showcases for indy standouts and juniors. AJ Styles was even in this past years. And for another good contest, check out Trent Acid vs. Homicide at Then and Now.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Hmmm....I think I'll go for ROH. Like someone mentioned, I'm more familiar with most of their roster, while I have trouble naming 3 people in XPW.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 What was the deal with Funk and CZW? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I said not to ask that. In short, he was to work on a CZW/BJPW PPV and CZW was responsible for paying him. They agreed to pay him in advance (before the show, like so many indy promotions do with big name wrestlers to ensure that they show), but he was never paid. The PPV fell through thanks to that and the horrible business procedures of ADV Films, who was to promote and film the PPV. "Oh, and Last Free Voice, CZW is not all strictly hardcore." Same goes w/ XPW and IWA-MS, but so many people unfortunately fail to realize that and look at such promotions as just hardcore. "Hmmm....I think I'll go for ROH. Like someone mentioned, I'm more familiar with most of their roster, while I have trouble naming 3 people in XPW." Suit yourself, but like I said, they have a great roster full of big names and homegrown talent. They've featured Sabu, Jerry Lynn, Vic Grimes, New Jack, Konnan, Juventud Guerrera, Psichosis, Super Crazy, Shane Douglas, Terry Funk, Vampiro, and others.
