BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 Brian Lee no-showed Wednesday's NWA-TNA pay-per-view. He was scheduled to team with Slash in a match against Julio Dinero & C.M. Punk. The general feeling backstage was that he will be replaced in the Disciples of the New Church tag team. Lee was replaced in the match by Sin, who debuted on the Aug. 20 TNA show in the opening six-man match. Sin is the latest TNA wrestler who was recommended by backstage agent Scott D'Amore, who promotes Border City Wrestling shows in Canada. Sin and his girlfriend Tracy Brooks, who works for TNA as the woman in the school girl outfit, recently moved from Canada to Nashville in hopes of finding regular work with TNA. At this point, the speculation is that Sin will be the permanent replacement for Lee, who appears to be on his way out of TNA. Lee has a number of friends in the office, including the Harris Brothers, so there is a chance that he would be brought back if he can clean up his act... The reason the title belt fell from the cables during the Ultimate X three-way match between Michael Shane, Chris Sabin, and Frankie Kazarian was that it was hung over two crossing cables. When the wrestlers would hang from the cables, the belt was simply pulled into two different directions and unsnapped due to the separation of the cables. Once the belt was hung from only one of the cable, it remained in place... Valentina (the cheerleader) was backstage but was not used on the show. TNA officials are said to be reassessing the roles of the "Bitch Slap Girls." One source reports that the women will be used again, but there is some talk of repackaging them and dropping their feud with the TNA Girls... Sandman was back on TNA despite rumors that he had rubbed management the wrong way. Sandman admitted to friends that he may have offended someone in the office by urging them to pair him with Goldylocks, who had heat in the office for constantly asking to be written into the script as more than just the backstage interviewer... One production error occurred on Wednesday night when the arena lights were turned on about ten seconds too soon while the mystery man dressed in white was attacking Raven. The actual plan was for the lights to come back on after the mystery man had returned backstage. That said there wasn't necessarily a reason for the mystery man to actually appear if he was never going to be shown on camera. In other words, the lights could have gone out, and when they came back on Raven could have simply acted as if he had been attacked while the announcers assumed it was the mystery man... Amazing Red did more damage to his injured leg during an All Japan match last week. Friends of Red have been telling him to take time off and let the injury heal for weeks now, so there has been a lot of "I told you so" whispers since the latest injury, which is expected to require surgery and months of time off... TNA officials are trying to strike a talent exchange deal with Puerto Rico's IWA in hopes of using more Hispanic cruiserweights in the X Division... The other members of the writing team were not in favor of holding the gauntlet match last week, but Jeff Jarrett stood his ground and insisted that it be part of the show... Wrestlers have been told by office personnel that Vince Russo and Glenn Gilberti are still writing the shows under the supervision of Jeff Jarrett. Scott D'Amore is also contributing ideas. The foursome is sharing in the credit for creating the Ultimate X concept... More than one TNA wrestler is said to be thankful that the company is providing them with regular pay, as most are finding it more difficult than ever to find steady work on the indy scene... TNA officials are said to be high on Nosawa... No word on what TNA is paying Roddy Piper, but his representatives have told at least one promoter who was interested in using Piper that he is asking $5,000 to cut promos and take part in angles... Makes me wonder about the above news tidbit.

I think it's funny that it was reported as news in the Torch.
