Buffet Mania!

Recommended Posts

About the only time I can stand buffets is in the morning, and even then only if there are like two or three people at most up there. Also, breakfast dishes tend to be lighter so it's possible for me to sample several without stuffing myself so full I can barely move.

But that's the point of Buffet, damnit!

You just don't get the art form, I guess. :D Regardless, my Vegas pimpage for breakfast buffet would have to be Bally's Sterling Brunch. The most wanted buffet pass in town. I can't afford it, reservations are limited, so I've never seen what it's like, but I've never met a person who thought it was less than awesome.

Still, if you want all you can eat versions of stuff you shouldn't be gulping down, like tenderloin, caviar, etc, there you go. I'm convinced Bally's added a motorized moving walkway OUT of their casino not because they wanted to, but because that was the only way short of a forklift to get those rocks out of the Buffet & Brunch Buffet.

I have Ponderosa, Ryan's, a couple Chinese buffets, CiCi's, and Frisch's Big Boy (just got back from their breakfast bar a couple hours ago, actually). That's all I know of in my town.

On the whole I prefer a la carte because I feel that if I'm going to pay for food someone had better wait on me hand and foot and cater to my every whim, goddamnit.

Well, you do work for the government, so I can understand the yearning to be pampered and have someone else do all the work. Me, I'm a rugged individualist -- give me a plate, some direction and I'll blaze a trail through the salad bar across the meat section and plant my flag in the dessert aisle (and shortly afterward, my bathroom).

The funny thing about breakfast buffets is that although I love the never-ending supply of bacon, sausage, etc., I eat so much of that garbage that I can't function right for the rest of the day.

Oh, and since you've been to Bangkok, I'm curious about something -- do they know what General Tso's Chicken is over there?...
