Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Hey I was reading the Lance Storm post in WWE folder, and I've only seen Joe vs. Whitmer at Dayton on August 9th, and while I wasn't impressed with that match, I won't write him off after only one match. Maybe just because we were 2 1/2 hours into the card and it was roughly 110 degrees in the arena, but I just haven't seen what is so sweet about Joe.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Some Joe matches to check out- 10.5 v. Low Ki (never seen it but got a lot of acclaim) 1.11 or 2.8 v. Dragon (some good strong style) 5.31 v. Homicide 6.28 v. Maff 7.19 v. London
Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Thanks Bob, I didn't want to be that guy hating on someone when I've only seen one match, which is the best card out of those dates?
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted August 28, 2003 (edited) He's done most of his work prior to ROH in UPW. (At least I think so. I remember an old WOW magazine that listed him as their champion.) Regardless, you can find those tapes here, the quality on them is awesome: http://www.upw.com/Catalog/Default.htm As far as the matches Bob listed, I'd say 10.5 and 5.31 are the best to check out. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Samoa Joe said that he considers Do or Die v. Homicide to be his best match. Having never seen Glory by Honor I'd have to agree
IWD 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 His match against Zebra Kid from May-17-03 was good too. OK.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted August 28, 2003 I loved the One year anniversary ROH match he had against American Dragon. That is awesome strong style match. I was at Round Robin challenge II and he had a solid match against Doug Williams, but the one against Dragon is WAY better.
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Bob, you gotta see Low Ki-Samoa Joe from 10.5 There's not a lot of psychology as it is just two guys beating the shit out of each other for 20 minutes, but god damn, they throw some stiff strikes. Its quite a sight to see. I can send it to you if you want me to.
