Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 I know ther are only a hand full of SEC fans here, but what the hell. Let's discuss. I think Georgia and Auburn are the ones to fear in the SEC this year. I will go into more detail as people reply. No sense blowing my load.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Well Aurburn was a bust. Georgia was a big surprise. Bama was also a big surprise. Florida, Tennesee, and LSU all had big wins. Overall, I think the SEC will be a very tough conference this year.
Art Sandusky Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 The SEC is always the toughest conference. Even next year's beefed up ACC will only possibly match it. I'm not shocked at Georgia's game, considering that Clemson completely blew any chances they got, but Georgia had a good deal of miscues as well, and their coach wasn't looking happy at halftime of the game. He knew that they were doing well because the other team was playing their absolute worst. Come on, did you see how impotent Clemson was running the ball? Georgia is definitely good though, no doubt about it. Hopefully this was just a game that was a warmup. Is Alabama still on probation? Oddly, I've always pulled for them since they were told they couldn't contest the conference title or go to any bowl games. I like a team that plays without a real goal. And Auburn was terribly overrated this year.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Auburn got straight up embarrassed against USC and pretty much blew any chance they had of contending for a national title. Bama is still on probation(they get off after this year, hopefully) and well, they SHOULD look good against a team like USF. The REAL test rolls into town next week...
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 APO, you are right. Oklahoma will be a test. They are coming to "T" town and I hope that Bama will actually play in the first half this week and we might have a chance.
ANKLELOCK Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 I am a Vol fan so please excuse any biases. I do think it'll go down to them and Georgia, though. Georgia was quite impressive although Clemson played TERRIBLE. Tennessee moved the ball dominantly against a less than good Fresno State defense, but they could never put the ball in the endzone. They only punted like....twice the entire game, as they kept missing field goals and getting picked off deep in FSU territoryz(one for FSU only touchdown). That game could have easily been 45-0. I am still pleased though, as I am SURE they won't make the same mistakes against Florida.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 I think the SEC West will be quit interesting this year. You have Georgia, Florida, and Tennesee. I still say Georgia will probably take it in the East, with somebody once again having to play them in the SEC Championship in Bama's place. But I have no idea who that will be.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 You know, if Auburn gets punked out by Arkansas again, I may die laughing...
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 We can only hope APO...we can only hope. But I really hope Bama beats OU next week. It could be a huge turning point for the program. Plus, JR will have to be in Bama for next weeks RAW.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 OU is only a 7 1/2 favorite right now and that will surely go down by game time. I really hope the Tide can pull it off!
AlwaysPissedOff Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Oh, Bama can definitely cover that. Hell, I still don't think Jason White is ready for the big games(his only BIG game was against fucking BAYLOR) and if the Bama D gets to him early on, it'll be a long night. Also, as an added bonus, OU doesn't have Griffen to save their asses this time. Damn... I can't WAIT til this Saturday night, man!

It's just the matter of the young Bama team getting rid of the butterflies before the third quarter this week.
