Perfxion 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 Saying Timberlake is crappy when Baby is in your Avatar. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Justin Timberlake went to the right people to make the beats. And sung in a level he can do well. The result is a good album with every single he dropped being real good. Most of his hate comes from two groups who blindly hate him because: 1: He was in a boy band, nevermind the fact that they can sing and dance. Nevermind the fact that they had good hits. And nevermind that their first single off their 3rd CD was a shot at everyone who blindly hates pop music. 2: He is now "black", he doesn't have his ghetto pass or something so nobody wants to hear from him. He does the Eminem thing of being "Black" too badly. Instead of Justin just making music he likes because he grew up listening to RnB and Country. So Justin is doomed no matter what he does. Guest Doyo Report post Posted September 4, 2003 Justin Timberlake went to the right people to make the beats. That's correct, the best part of his album was done by outside people and not by himself. And sung in a level he can do well. Because there are so few notes his voice is able to sing. nevermind the fact that they can sing and dance There are people in every high school chorus that can sing as good or better. And I guess bands like the Beatles and Led Zeppelin weren't really that great because they didn't do dance routines. Nevermind the fact that they had good hits. Sounds like opinion and not fact to me. And nevermind that their first single off their 3rd CD was a shot at everyone who blindly hates pop music. Most everyone has heard enough pop music to be able to judge whether they like it or not. So Justin is doomed no matter what he does. He's got plenty of money and can have plenty of women. He should be alright for a while. I don't hate him, but his type of music is just not really my thing. He would get more respect if he was more original. When the only message behind most of your music is either "let's dance and have fun" or "you broke my heart" or "baby i love you", then lots of people are not going to like you, especially if you are selling millions of albums. Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 5, 2003 well explain ACDC...I don't think ANY song had anything to do with besides "Let's Party" or "Let's Bang"... and people cream for those guys when they come to town... *Not that I am comparing the two but Males 18-49 orgasm for ACDC like 11-17 year old girls do for Timberlake. justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Yes, but Angus plays the guitar like a fucking madman live. Justin just pretends to be Michael Jackson. Johnson comes off as a genuinely honest, humble guy in his in-between-song banter, yet Justin just comes off as an arrogant prick. Males 18-49 "cream" over AC/DC because they relate to AC/DC...working-class music for working-class people.
Guest Doyo Report post Posted September 5, 2003 A lot of music critics don't like ACDC for that very reason. I like them, but when they come out with new albums, you pretty much know what you are getting before you even hear it.
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 But what I want to know is...WHERE THE HELL ARE THE BSB? I can see N*sync being active but BSB, the better band is no where to be found...Cept for Nick Carter's short lived rock career... Oh I know all about BSB, thanks to my girlfriend, and Mr. Carter's attempt at being the next Bryan Adams. I do know that Kevin Richardson is off doing Chicago on stage as Billy Flynn. Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 You shouldn't. I don't enjoy his particular musical style but he is very very talented. From what I've heard of his stuff, the beats sound a little samey, or Michael Jacksonish. If you enjoy his talents as a singer and dancer, and enjoy the music, why worry about people who hate it. A little? Please, he's on rip-off levels with the whole 'JT' thing, which he obviously again took from Michael Jackson. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all that crap, but grow some balls and be original why don't you? UYI
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 (edited) For once, I'm w/ the Bankster on this one. I can't hate Timberlake. Anybody who doesn't think this guy is talented as fuck is in denial. On top of that, he comes off like a really cool dude in interviews and such. Even when he got water bottles chucked at him during SARSStock, he kept his cool and handled the situation well. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2003 But what I want to know is...WHERE THE HELL ARE THE BSB? All I know is that they are on a hiatus now and half of them are married. Nick Carter didn't do so well going solo and hooked his little brother up with a place in the music world. And Kevin's doing broadway. Brian said they'll be back for another album, but didn't say when. I heard they were getting ready to come out with one this year, but got delayed due to whatever reasons involving their "schedules". AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2003 A lot of music critics don't like ACDC for that very reason. I like them, but when they come out with new albums, you pretty much know what you are getting before you even hear it. I like that. No worrying about "experimenting with a new sound" because it's going to be the usual bad ass blues rock they've done from day one. I actually kinda prefer Bonham AC/DC, because there were more comedy songs, but either's fine with me. I missed the days where songs had to be sneakier about sexual innuendo. Sure, many songs are still pretty blatant, but most modern groups don't even attempt to be clever about it. As for JT--I don't care. I never watch MTV, I don't think I've heard his music played at all in stores or anything, and I don't listen to any radio stations that play pop music. So it doesn't piss me off like most overplayed, omnipresent pop crap does. And nevermind that their first single off their 3rd CD was a shot at everyone who blindly hates pop music. Considering I fit that category and never heard of it, I think the entire point of it was missed. Kinda pointless to diss someone behind their backs.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 9, 2003 it sounded like slap across the face of the fans to me s if they were saying "You listen to this music and you don't know it sucks"... Subliminal Messages of some sort
