Anybody else think Arkansas was ranked a bit too high?

comeback win over Bama, two losses to Auburn and Florida

Eh maybe but they lost to a now red hot Auburn team and now Florida seems to be turning their season around. The fact that they both came at home maybe indicates they were ranked too high but hey they got off to a hot start. All I know is Texas is ranked too high as in still ranked.

I just did some 'paces' (current yards divided by 7 and multiplied by 12)

Symons is on pace for 5883 yards and 53 touchdowns this year

Don't wanna take anything away from Symons, but the numbers are in large part due to Texas Tech's offense.

I'm glad my Falcons were ranked in the AP.

The coaches poll has them at #26...

All they did was beat one top ten team and there one loss is to another top ten team...

but whatever.

Next week...we beat Northern Illinois at home...and then we can't be denied!

Its the Coaches poll so as usual no reason to pay attention to it. I'm really wondering if ESPN might do Gameday from the Bowling Green campus this week. The only other game of major significance this Saturday will be Purdue/Michigan and they could do a show from Ann Arbor almost any time.

Speaking of polls the early projections on tommorrow's first official BCS rankings have Northern Illinois coming in at #10.

Here is the projected Top 12 in the BCS tonight from collegebcs.com:

1. Oklahoma

2. Miami

3. Virginia Tech

4. Georgia

5. Ohio State

6. Florida State

7. USC

8. Purdue

9. Washington State

10. Northern Illinois

11. Nebraska

12. LSU

Right now FSU and USC might be flipped and the last three could go in any direction. A couple of computer ratings are always purposely held from the public so the official rankings don't get leaked early. I've never understood why the BCS has to be such a big secret. Once the guy has his full official rankings posted tonight I'll post the Top 25 and Bottom 10.

Here is YOUR college football national television schedule this week. As always all times are PST and ABC regional games are marked with an asterisk. Should note ABC does the annoying double-header with three time slots this week so if you live in the Midwest and the East you'll get the early BC/ND game and us in the West get BYU/UNLV game later in the day to go along with the usual middle of the day regional game. Rankings listed this week are BCS rankings since those are the only rankings that really mean anything from now on.

Wednesday

#3 Virginia Tech at West Virginia, 4:30 PM, ESPN

Thursday

Maryland at Georgia Tech, 4:30 PM, ESPN

Saturday

Notre Dame at Boston College, 9:00 AM, ABC*

#6 Ohio State at Indiana, 9:00 AM, ESPN

#18 Wisconsin at Northwestern, 9:00 AM, ESPN2

Texas Tech at Missouri, 9:30 AM, FSN

#21 Tennessee at Alabama, 12:30 PM, CBS

#8 Purdue at #17 Michigan, 12:30 PM, ABC*

#7 USC at Washington, 12:30 PM, ABC*

#19 Oklahoma State at Texas A&M, 12:30 PM, ABC*

Wake Forest at #5 Florida State, 12:30 PM, ABC*

#10 Northern Illinois at #24 Bowling Green, 1:00 PM, ESPN2

I want every team to lose this year so that the BCS completely falls apart.

Well point has already been made but yes have to root for Va Tech next week at home against Miami. If they win it will guarentee that their will be a one loss team in the Sugar Bowl which will lead to CONTROVERSY~ over who is most deserving.

I still think they should just have all the Bowl games but have the BCS Bowls start an 8 team tournament for the National Title.

Bleh, bowl games are meaningless now with the BCS (outside of the championship game) so having them around with a playoff would be pointless. I'd get more into this but I hoping this topic actually doesn't turn into a bowl games vs. playoffs for another month. ;)

It's the only way you could get a playoff though. No one wants to give up the money that Bowl Games grab the networks and no school wants to give up Bowl appearance benefits.

So keeping them has to happen to get a playoff unfortunately.

Trust me they'll make it work, they just haven't figured it out yet but when they do we'll have a playoff. The networks would be in a HUGE bidding war to get the rights to show the entire tournament.

i am too this is a huge upset and could fuck up the bcs even more if va tech can win next week. Also what is it with teams overlooking a quality program like west virginia

Virginia Tech just showed they're frauds once again. They collapsed after losing to Pittsburgh, and it will be no different this year.

Florida St. and Miami. Is what's making teams overlook West Virginia.

Im trying to figure out how Maryland beat West Virginia..

West Virginia played Miami tough and here they are beating Va Tech. Crazy..and I gotta figure Miami will easily beat Va Tech.

And as for the Unbeatens, there will probably be 2 unbeaten teams left at the end of the year, but only 1 will play in the Sugar Bowl. Even if N. Illinois goes undefeated they have no chance in bloody hell of making the Sugar Bowl, even though they've beaten 3 BCS teams. Hell, they could be the ONLY unbeaten team left and they still wouldn't make it.

They might get sympathy slot in a Rose Bowl or something just to shut up the masses...

Rose Bowl is back to PAC 10 vs Big 10.

I doubt N. Illinois will get a major bowl bid. They aren't big enough of a school to risk losing the money on the ratings. My guess would be a bowl game on the 30th or so.

Oh Yeah forgot...

Maybe at LEAST a New Years Bowl like the Outback or Gator?

I could see the biggest non-BCS bowl going after N.Illinois. It would be a good story and if it ends up with a one loss team in the championship the bowl can claim to have one of the best two teams. (provided NIU holds on to undefeated record)
