Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted September 5, 2003 from wc.com: about the upcoming ric flair dvd, my friend has an uncle who helps in the production area of wwe home video and he was telling me about this dvd, he said that its going to be a 2 disk like the hbk one and was going to include 8 matches and some classic moments like promos, vignetes, ect.(almost what you wanted but not to that extent) he said that the 8 matches would be(and he did mention that this is defenatly not set in stone or anything) 1)flair vs. savage (wm 8) 2) vs. undertaker (wm 18) 3) vs. HHH (raw like a month ago) 4) vs. steamboat (wrestle war) 5) vs. harley race (dont remember which match he said) 6) vs. HBK (badd blood) 7) vs. sting (title unification from clash in '94) 8) vs. the great muta (starrcade ????) he said they are thinking about doing something as an easter egg about the history of flairs famous "stripping" interviews he used to do. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 It's amazing how half of his matches belongs in a company inwhich he wrestled only, maybe, 1/6th of it in.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 I would rather see the Sting match from Clash 1.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Boo. What is this obsession with making everything on the DVDs about their WWF career even when they've barely been there.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 How in the name of all that is pure and good, can anyone make a DVD showcasing a guy who has been in the Pro. Wrestling industry for 30 years, and only include EIGHT matches?
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Hope it's not true, I'll wait for a better source before I start complaining. Heck, I knew a few kids in school who claimed their mysterious "uncle" worked for the WWF as well (One kid even claimed he was related to former WWF Action Zone Host Charlie Minn.. how scary is that?) Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted September 5, 2003 In theory the WWF wants to include the 2 newer matches to sell the DVD to its newbie fans, I suppose(?)
Guest Eddie Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Does the WWF not own the clash of the champions VI in the best 2 out of 3 Ric Flair and Steamboat had?The WrestleWar match was great but that one was better. Only 8 matches for a guy who has had more 5 star matches than than all the matches featured on all the PPV's this year??well my guess is vince does not want to use the tape library that cost him so much money....yeah that makes sense! Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 i hope its not true either, i haven seen alot of flairs earlier stuff and was really hopin for more then again this is WWE
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted September 5, 2003 8) vs. the great muta (starrcade ????) Starrcade 1989. I don't see why they would put this as one of the matches. From what I remember, the match is only about two minutes long.
Guest Eddie Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Anyone know if the WWE owns the clash from 1989?
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 I kinda hope a Flair/Funk match shows up, because I wanted to see one of those, I forget which was supposed to be better. This seems realistic, although minus Vader, who the WWE was never high on anyway, but I don't trust the source just yet. As for the Charlie Minn kid, even if it was true... WHY? Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 How in the name of all that is pure and good, can anyone make a DVD showcasing a guy who has been in the Pro. Wrestling industry for 30 years, and only include EIGHT matches? Easy: make another DVD later with even more matches. This is why fans do not make good business people. Guest Ray Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Although not confirmed, that is a HORRIBLE selection of matches. Why put Wrestlewar on there WHEN IT'S ON THE HHH DVD?!!? Maybe they think Clash 6 is too long. If that's true, why not put Chi Town on there? The Shawn match has ABSOLUTELY no place on there.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 1)flair vs. savage (wm 8) 2) vs. undertaker (wm 18) 3) vs. The good: Flair-Savage Flair-Sting (94) Flair-Muta (Starrcade 89) The bad: almost everything else The ugly: Why the Wrestle War 89 match with Steamboat when it's already on Trips' DVD? Why not the Chi-Town Rumble match, the Clash 6 match, or the Spring Stampede 94 Steamboat matches instead?
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted September 5, 2003 With all the classics Flair has been in and they pick his recent matches with Michales, Taker, and HHH?????? Although this is not a confirmed matchlist, it is horrible. I guess the figure nobody remembers Terry Funk, Greg Valentine, Kerry Von Erich, Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff, Ricky Morton, Rick Rude, Bruiser Brody, Barry Windham and many more that Flair had some classics with. I thought they would at least include one of the first matches he had with Hogan at MSG in 1991. But I guess since Hogan is in Vince's doghouse he is persona non grada. Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 I could sit here all night and list matches that should be on the DVD, over most of the ones listed in this thread. The only WWE matches I would have included would have been vs. Savage, and the entire Royal Rumble in which he won the World Title. The rest, would have been WCW/NWA. PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 As for the Charlie Minn kid, even if it was true... WHY? That haunts me to this day, I wouldn't think being related to the incredibly annoying Mr. Minn would be anything to boost about. But thinking back the kid did look alot like him... Back to the FLAIR DVD... Where's the Royal Rumble 92 match? I think that has to be added. It's Flair's finest WWF moment.
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted September 5, 2003 And it is a HUGE mistake if they don't include his CLASSIC loser leaves WWF match with Curt Hennig from RAW '93!
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 I demand Flair/Vader from Starcade '93. It's one of my favorite Pro. Wrestling matches/moments of all time, when taking everything from the buildup throughout the night, the emotion of the match itself, and the actual quality of the match. Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted September 5, 2003 See, I had no problem with Michaels getting the 7/8 match package. He's not been around long compared to a Hogan or Flair, & most of his moments were with the same company. Flair getting only 8 matches is fucking inexcusable. He's been around forever, carried people no one heard of or remembered to awesome matches, & practically INVENTED the modern promo. They need to weed out the crap (ie all of it). Leave the Savage match in, since it rules. Replace the others with Flair/Steamboat at Clash, Rumble '92, Wargames '87 (or Flair/Race for history's sake), Flair/Sting at Clash, Flair/Perfect in the career match, Flair/Hart Saskatoon, Flair/Rocker Michaels, & then MAYBE the HHH match, only for the post-show respect ceremony thing (or if you're being rational, Flair/Vader from Starrcade for the build & execution). I hate the fact limited to 8 matches, as does you everyone, but at least these kick ass. If these are the final confirmed matches (which i hope isn't the case), then the extras better kick ass. If they're like the Michaels extras, i'll be somewhat satisfied only for the Savage/Flair build.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 The DVD should at LEAST have a segment showcasing his EVERY title win, showing at least clips from each of those matches.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 They should split screen every Flair title win with every HHH title win.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 They should split screen every Flair title win with every HHH title win. They wouldn't do that, it would make HHH look very bad.
