Anakin Flair Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 So I'm planning on upgrading my processor and mother board in the next to months. Will I loose all my stuff, or will it be safe on the hard dirve? I'm new at these things. Thanks, Drew
MrRant Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 Generally it's best to reinstall Windows after installing a new motherboard.
Anakin Flair Posted September 5, 2003 Author Report Posted September 5, 2003 Oh, THAT's gonna be fun. I had a hard enough time the first time.
Kaertos Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 The motherboard will not have any effect on what is physically stored on your hard drive. I have upgraded m/b & processors several times without reloading windows 98. Just be patient and work through the changes windows wants to make. I would suggest backing up anything you want to keep though, in case the worst happens.
