Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 So I'm planning on upgrading my processor and mother board in the next to months. Will I loose all my stuff, or will it be safe on the hard dirve? I'm new at these things. Thanks, Drew
MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Generally it's best to reinstall Windows after installing a new motherboard.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Oh, THAT's gonna be fun. I had a hard enough time the first time.
Kaertos 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2003 The motherboard will not have any effect on what is physically stored on your hard drive. I have upgraded m/b & processors several times without reloading windows 98. Just be patient and work through the changes windows wants to make. I would suggest backing up anything you want to keep though, in case the worst happens.
