The Czech Republic Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 My old monitor was dying, and one of the problems was the right speaker plug in the back wasn't working, so all I was getting was the left channel which bled into the right speaker a bit. I just replaced my monitor today, and the problem is still here. I went ot listen to The Wall, and on the first track, all I can hear is "We came in" and not the violin in the background. It's really distracting and I can't figure out what's broken.
MrRant Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Did you check the volume control to make sure everything is equalized? Outside of that it is probably either: 1. The speakers 2. The soundcard Option 1 is cheapest to replace.
The Czech Republic Posted September 7, 2003 Author Report Posted September 7, 2003 My speakers have been built into the monitor on my old and new ones. Okay, so it sort of works now. Before, I had a cord running from "Speaker out" in the back of the box, and that cord split into left and right cords on the old monitor. On the new one, there's just an "Audio In" that doesn't split. So I stuck the two left-right cords in a merger adapter dealy, and put that in the back of the monitor, and the right channel was still out. So I plugged the headphones in the back Speaker Out plug, and now I have full sound. So it must be that cord that was connected my speakers to the CPU.
