The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I've been starting to get into ELO recently, and thus far I think they're a great band if not overly pretentious. I was just wondering if there's anyone else out there that likes ELO. And not that ELO2 ripoff, that doesn't count.
WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I dig some ELO, but never got too heavy into them. Don't Bring me Down and Evil Woman are awesome songs and they've been getting exposure by Mr. Blue Sky being used in that car commercial. They're certainly not any more pretensious than the Moody Blues, later Yes or holier than thou America. If you like ELO, I would also suggest ELP, Supertramp, Boston, Styx, early Chicago and Steely Dan.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 I hate to bump up a pretty old thread, but I didn't want to start an entire thread just for this. Earlier this year, when I first watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I instantly loved the music. I ended up getting the soundtrack, and it's really opened me up to new and different music. I now love ELO, quite a lot, so that's that. The Garden State soundtrack has also opened me up to new music. I can't believe how blind I've been for so long when it comes to certain music. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 That's what happens when you listen to country. Now buy a Ying Yang Twins album. They sound a lot like ELO.
SinToxic 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 My uncle dragged me to see one of their Zoom tour show and it was pretty nice for a change. To me their most enjoyable albums coincidently came out one after the other; on the third day, eldorado and face the music. Just weird to see someone sing the same songs after 30 years and still sound the same as he does on the record.
