WWE DVDs Question

Recommended Posts

I think mostly b/c they're releasing them quickly.

Or they might be doing away with extras on all non-Mania DVDs to cut costs.

I bought a DVD player just to watch Ultimo Dragon's match on the Vengeance DVD and it's not there. Okay, not just for that but anyway it doesn't cost WWE much to put a couple of clips or matches in it.

OK -

Compression quality goes down when extras are included on a DVD release. This is USUALLY not a problem with theatrical releases that run 90 minutes in length, but these are WWE PPV's, which ordinarily have a running time of 160-165 minutes.

You're sacrificing the time it takes to compress the DVD (w/ extras) to get a quicker release date (in this case, only one month as opposed to two-three months for the U.S. and Canada.

EDIT: For an example of correct compression, WWEHV went two discs with Wrestlemania XIX, BUT included all the extras on Disc 2 (which only had Rock v. Austin and Brock v. Angle).

That's lame. I'm willing to wait another month for a decent Heat match, the included promos, and even the damn postmatch interviews.

Its all about patience. Its a fucking DVD, I want extras damn it.

WWEHV tech: "Oh my god! So Rico from TSM DID want extras on his DVD! FGet all of the Summerslams back here PRONTO!"

Then wait for the profile DVD's to come out then.

WWEHV noticed a problem with release dates being too distant, so they sacrificed extras on the PPV DVD's to ship them out quicker.
