Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 The university's computer store is running specials, rebates and such on the portable storage gadgets. A USB ZIP drive and a 256-mb USB flash drive will end up costing roughly the same. They both have a USB interface (obviously) and all of the computers on campus have front USB ports. I'm probably going to buy one of these to schlep my data around on, especially during term paper season. Any advice?
Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted September 12, 2003 I'd say go with the Flash drive. The Dell's we put out on our campus are no longer coming with Zip drives standard, so look for Zip drives to go the way of the do-do. Plus zip drives are probably less reliable than flash drives. And the tiny flash drives are pretty awesome :-)
