Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 This is some news on SMG's next movie from Buffy.nu. Dec. 15, 2003 Gellar holding a ’Grudge’ against Raimi, Col Pics Sarah Michelle Gellar By Josh Spector Sarah Michelle Gellar, most recently seen on the big screen in "Scooby-Doo," will take on a more frightening role in her next starring gig as she is set to topline the horror remake "The Grudge." The project, being produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures and distributed domestically by Columbia Pictures, is an English-language version of the Japanese thriller "Ju-On." The film’s title refers to a curse that befalls someone who dies in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die, and a new one is born -- passed like a virus from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror. The project is being directed by the original’s writer-director, Takashi Shimizu, from a script by Stephen Susco. Raimi is producing along with his Ghost House partner Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise, who produced the original film. Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane of Senator International will serve as executive producers alongside Roy Lee and Doug Davison, who originally gave GHP a look at the project. Columbia co-president of production Matt Tolmach and director of production Shannon Gaulding are overseeing for the studio, with a January start date planned. The film will shoot in Tokyo at Toho Studios. Gellar, best known for her starring role on the long-running television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," has appeared in such films as "Cruel Intentions" and "Scream 2." She next appears in the upcoming "Scooby-Doo" sequel and also is attached to star in "Romantic Comedy" for MGM. Gellar is repped by the Firm, ICM and attorney Kevin Yorn She is getting roles, so that makes me happy.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 No, damn it, Nicholas Brendan needs roles!
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Well, Nick does have a role in "The Pool at Maddy Breaker's" a TV movie. All I know is that James BETTER get some parts when Angel ends. He defiently deserves it. At Buffy.nu they had an article about the top 50 actors who aren't leads who should be. James was 30 something I think, but I can't find the article. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Season 4 of Angel IS on SPACE~! I should start an official countdown to THE BEAST!
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Or I could just pop in my season 4 DVD of Angel and watch "Apcolypse Nowish."
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 But where is the fun in that? Answer: There isn't. These episodes only come along MAYBE twice a year - so you must treasure them... hold on to them tightly... never take them for granted.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 The fun is I can skip "Slouching Toward Bethlehem" which is a very boring episode. And I get to see Wes wipping out the shotgun right away.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Ok, I guess there is SOME fun in that... *mutters* *imagines BADASSWES whippin it out in SUPERSLOWMOTION*

Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 I'm suprised you're not thinking about the Beast whippin it out in super slow motion. You always seemed to like him more. BAHAHAHA. I just read the Mercedes McNab article in FHM, and there is a mistake that I know I'm nippicking with. McNab said that she didn't know Masters was 41 when they first were fooling around on the show, and she was 17. When Spike and Harmony fooled around for the first time, it was in season 4. McNab was 19 and Marsters just turned 39 at the time. I had to look up the ages and the first time they fooled around, yes I am bored but I can't sleep at 3:50. Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Blah, from Buffy.nu THIS BITES: Here’s some "TV News" scoop from the new issue of TV Guide magazine (on sale now): Sarah Michelle Gellar won’t be back as Buffy this season after all. The erstwhile Slayer - who was in talks to do a two-episode arc on Buffy spinoff Angel during May sweeps - has opted against picking up stakes again. Says Joss Whedon, creator of both series: "She feels it’s not the right time." Gellar’s rep declined to comment. In related news, the Scooby-Doo thesp has signed on to star in the horror film The Grudge, an English-language remake of the Japanese thriller Ju-On. If there is a sixth season, which there FUCKIN BETTER BE, then she'll show up for that.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 She better, damnit. Ok, little nitpicking of my own here. This season, bunches of Wolfram and Hart employees have made reference to the "old regime", especially in the Halloween ep. The problem: didn't everyone at who used to work there get slaughtered by the Beast? I guess they could have all been ressurected, but that seems like a waste. Plus then it shouldn't really affect anyone when people die, if they can just be ressurected the next week or whatever, yet death does seem to affect W and H employees. So what gives? Jingus 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 McNab said that she didn't know Masters was 41 when they first were fooling around on the show, and she was 17. When Spike and Harmony fooled around for the first time, it was in season 4. McNab was 19 and Marsters just turned 39 at the time. She might've meant that they were fooling around behind the scenes, not on-camera. Any such fooling around would most likely be in Season 2, in which both Spike and Harmony are around all the time, which would put McNab's age right at her stated 17. The problem: didn't everyone at who used to work there get slaughtered by the Beast? Oh, that's very easily answered. You see... ::While Jingus distracts him, robed and hooded figures suddenly grab ParkaMarka and force him into a chair, whereupon he's promptly given ye olde Clockwork Orange treatment.:: LPM afterward: "Joss is God... don't doubt Joss... Joss is God... don't doubt Joss..."
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 I'm glad Sarah wont be on this season. She's the one character that the fans should wait to see. hold her off till the last season's last episode, and have her show up to be with Angel. In the meantime, get Xander or Giles on the show. Jingus 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Meh. Spike's collection is perfect, and Angel's is decent, but the others could use some work. The "Very Best of Buffy" one contains way too many episodes that are one half of a two-parter, which will play like crap for anyone who doesn't know the storyline. Faith's collection is the same way. And Willows? Christ, why not just call it the Oz collection? It's almost all episodes featuring him in the lead, not her.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 The Willow collection should have "Wrecked."
Cavi 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Fox really is whoring it out for Region 2. I get a kick out of "extra special value-added material" for this Best Of DVD. It will probably be the mentioned trailer for Season Seven and nothing else. Maybe they can throw in some Dark Angel stuff, though.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I don't blame them. Even though I own all of those episodes, I would still get the sets just for the fuck of it. They know how hardcore Buffy fans are.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I'd hate to turn this into an Angel discussion, but I was watching the Las Vegas episode last night, and that show gets better after each viewing. The Cordy stuff sucked though, as usual.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 The Las Vegas episode was okay at best, but the stuff with Angel talking about being here in the past was great. Angel has had some life.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Okay this has been bugging me....what episode is that clip of Angel backhanding the hell out of some guy from??? The one they used in the credits and some commercials. It's just such a cool clip.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I have no idea. The only clip I know which episode its from is the one when Angel is hugging Faith in the rain, "Five by Five."

Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 This wait for a new Angel is killing me. I even watched the OC tonight.
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Nothing wrong with The O.C., I've been watching it while Angel is on hiatus. Adam Brody(Seth Cohen) is great and I kinda love Samaire Armstrong(Anna). And since Spoiler (Highlight to Read): they are now together I will be living my life vicariously through him. But this is an Angel thread. If I'm watching the opening credits, I can remember the episodes that the action shots are from, but I can't off the top of my head. But I do believe the spinning back first is from the second two opener.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Yes, there will be no OC talk in this thread, even though I brought it up.
Mole 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 This is from Buffy.nu: Did Whedon End Buffy? Will He Cancel Angel? All fans believes that Buffy ended because of Smg`s decision. But now, new information has come out...and Whedon perhaps may also end Angel. Whedon seems to achieved that to some degree and is relieved that, thanks to renewal, no one will show up to the set of Angel and say "stop filming that now," but one day that phrase may well be spoken, and possibly by Whedon himself. "It could happen," said Whedon. "I did that on Buffy. I was definitely done after seven years. A lot of people attribute that to [sarah Michelle Gellar], but after seven years I was burnt out. I was just really worn down as we came into the seventh season. Of course we tried hard to make it great, but seven years is a long time and I was tired. Now were in the fifth year of Angel and I’m in a situation where we’ve gotten to the hundredth episode and I feel like the show has...found it’s place in the world." Pretty interesting actually. I can see why Joss would want to stop Buffy because there really wasn't anymore for the characters to go. On the other hand, Angel still has plenty of steam in my opinion. I am asking for one more season, then Joss can take a break after that. I am sure he is catching up on sleep since he doesn't have to do Buffy or Firefly anymore.
