Mole 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Since I don't think we have ever done this, I'm going to list my favorite Buffy AND Angel episodes, in order. Damn, this is gonna be tough. 1. The Wish 2. Apocalypse, Nowish 3. A Hole in the World 4. Passion 5. The Gift 6. Spin the Bottle 7. Wrecked 8. Forgiving 9. Fool for Love 10. Becoming Pt 2 You may need to update that list after "Angel" is over. Ugh, I still hate saying that. And then I said this: Wow, that was one of the hardest lists to do ever. I think I have to do a top 20 when this season ends and actually look through each season at the episodes. PAY ATTENTION

Guest JMA Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Meh, it is all good. So, where is your list JMA? I'd have to do some research before I put together a list. I wouldn't want to overlook a good episode. I'll put one together later on.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 My Top 10 Buffy/Angel episode list is going to look shockingly similar to my Buffy top 10 episode list. I'd be shocked if anything but MAYBE A hole in the World cracked that list.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Angel has passed Buffy as my favorite of the two shows and it was "A Hole in the World" that made that pass.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I'll do my list after Angel is over. Tonights episode rocked, though I'm sorry that Ilyeria lost most of her powers.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I find roughly 75 percent of all Angel episodes boring and hard to get through. Seasons 1 and 2 are a chore. Most of season 3 is as well. The first 5 eps of season 4 are downright unwatchable...but at least it finally picks up. With the exception of Angel turning dark for the middle of season 2, Wesley stealing Connor in season 3, the Beast arriving in season 4 (which was the first good year of the show IMO). I could leave the rest up until season 5. Angel is easily last on my list of Whedon shows. I'd rank it 4th out of 3 if I could.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Season 1 and 2 can be pretty boring, especially season 1. But no love for season 3? Darla being pregnent, Holtz coming back, Wes stealing Connor, Angel trying to get Connor back, Connor comes back allllll grown up, and then Connor betraying Angel. Season 4 is just awesome. Out of the first five, only "Slouching Toward Bethlehem" is horrible. Then again, I am a fan of the show because it is a lot darker than Buffy. That is why I like season 6 a lot, because it was dark. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Awesome episode. I'm falling for Illyria. I loved pretty much everything about this one after being a bit disappointed with last week's offering.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I'll do my list after Angel is over. Tonights episode rocked, though I'm sorry that Ilyeria lost most of her powers. I think they had to take some of her powers. I mean, she could slow time, and open portals to other dimensions...Its just too powerful of a character. I think they are headed towards a big battle and she will play a part, so they needed her strong, but not unbeatable. one thing that is bothering me though. how they are building the sympathy on Gunn and Wes. What I mean is, they are showing them sa though they are laboring with having to wake up in the morning and living...like them dying would be merciful now. They had better not kill them both. I get the feeling that they might. That is just too big of a body count for me. They already took Fred, and Cordy. Shit, I want SOMEONE from the KINDA original group to make it. dubq 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Great episode last night. Adam Baldwin is fucking amazing in the Hamilton role. This guy is a great actor. I still can't believe that was him in FMJ. I also loved the bit where Illyria single handedly destroyed Angel, Spike, Lorne and Wes. I knew they were going to go back in time and change it, but it was a cool "what if" scenario to see play out.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I think you are a little biased about Hamilton RRR. He hasn't done enough for me to like him that much. He punched a security guard through the fucking chest! Hamilton rules; the way he talks and acts is fucking great. He's what Bradshaws character should be. When he gets mad, you will be loving it, because he has been playing it perfectly straight and calm-like that it'll make ya say BOOYAH~! when he gets his rage on. It's just the little things that I like about him right now, plus he's the motherfucking man they call Jayne. Reaching season 5 level of Buffy? Errrr, that is stretching it. The first 8 episodes of this season are no where as good as the first 8 episodes of Buffy season 5. Yeah, but the last 8 episodes (let's say, the one where they reintroduced Lindsay-on) with one or two exceptions, have been **** quality and building a FANTASTIC arc. Not to mention those first 8 episodes were building to the last 8, which gets points for set-up, and the season premiere was darn good. But you forgot about "You're Welcome" and how much that owned. It will own even more, I assure you
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 AAAAAAAAAAAAAND I watched the episode with SUMMER FUCKING GLAU in it last night. It really scared me. That's not my River. River is not Russian. At best, River talks in a cockney accent. River does not wear make up. That is not my River.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Buffy.nu has promo pics, as well as a background collage, up for the final episode. I'd post my favorite, but I'm affraid it would be to spoilerish. I'll give you a hint- it has Hamilton and Angel in it
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Buffy.nu has last night's episode. Download it while you still can because so far it's still working. Oh and I almost forgot. The pregnant lady from last night's episode was David Boreanaz's wife wasn't it?

dubq 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 From Buffy.nu http://www.buffy.nu/article.php3?id_article=4341 "Nick Brendon did a Q/A and let slip that Joss is working on another show. When asked what it was called he mumbled something like "Brothers" but then said he didn’t know. He also said that a Buffy movie is going to happen it’s just a question of when. I also found it strange that he mentioned a Buffy cartoon that has Allison, Anthony and him doing voices that might be picked up soon." "Mercedes McNab said that Angel is dead as an ongoing series but she did hear about the TV movies. She even started to cry when talking about the shows end." "Anthony Head talked about Whedon and him doing a spin off called Ripper. He said that he and Joss talk about it every time they see each other. It is supposed to start off as a 2 hour TV movie." I hope, if the Ripper thing happens, that it isn't BBC-only.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 AICN said it was Davids wife, which brings much more hilarity to the "my husband is brain dead" line
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 This was posted on Buffy.nu, but was little more than a stated fact followed up by a lot of well-wishing. Nick Brendon had apparently voluntarly checked himself into an alcohol rehab clinc to deal with his apparent drinking problem. Kind of makes you wonder if Joss making Xander's dad a drunk was his way of trying to get Nick to go into rehab sooner. On behalf of everybody here, I just want to wish him good luck. Admitting you have a problem is the first big step.

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Quitter. Nice. Very sympathetic, RRR. It also kind of puts the whole Willow addiction storyline into a new light, doesn't it?
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I really like Season two, just because Angel gets so dark. I really think it was the right way to go after he got a drink of human blood. I'm working through the DVD, and just got past "Darla", which I love for all the flashbacks. Did this intertwine (air on the same week) with the episode where Spike was telling Buffy how the Slayers died. And Pylea rules. Anyways, is that Shawn Ryan of the Shield that was producing Angel?
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Yeah, Ryan did work for Angel. In fact, he's the one that recruited Sarah Fain and Liz Craft for The Shield next season.
