Guest SP-1 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 You know, we're kind of concentrating on this one battle. It'd be pretty sweet if like, that wave of demons was the first wave for Armageddon. If Angel and co.'s actions pissed off the Partners enough that they just decided to start invading or something. I can only imagine the awesome results if someone ran with it that way. Guest JMA Report post Posted May 20, 2004 I'm kind of surprised that Team Angel didn't use the mystical tatoos Lindsey had. You'd think they would've gotten the info from him before they killed him. Speaking of Lindsey's death, it just goes to show you how different Team Angel is from the Scoobies. Buffy has that whole "never-kill-humans-no-matter-how-evil-they-are," while Angel doesn't. I guess being the head of the LA Branch of Wolfram and Hart really did change him.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Xander vs. Gunn! Xander, while a pretty good fighter, didn't show the skills that Gunn did. However, with Gunns mortal wound, he would slow down a little. With that said, Xander has no depth perception and Gunn had the desparado-esque stakes and the hatchet. Advantage: Gunn. Willow vs. Illyria! Full Powered Illyria vs. Dark Willow would probably be the better battle - though Illyria would fucking SLAUGHTER Dark Willow like she did with Team Angel - however weaker Illyria vs. Willow the Red is tough. I think, in the end, I'd say Willow - cause she'd be able to freeze Illyria and then do something else. Advantage: Willow Buffy vs. Angel! Buffy has gotten soft in her later years; she hasn't shown a lot of technique. Angel has, plus he beat Hamilton and could always suck on Buffy if he really wanted to. Advantage: Angel. Giles vs. Wesley! Damnation! Two of my favourite characters! WhY? WHO ON EARTH WOULD MAKE SUCH A THING?! Badass Wes with the Guns vs. Ripper... it's a tie. Giles has the advantage in the magic dept, so he edges out... Advantage: Giles. Andrew vs. Lorne! Lorne would sing and Andrew would fall prey under his hypnotic spell. DARK Lorne then whips out his silenced gun and fucks Andrew up. Advantage: Lorne Spike BS vs. Spike AS! It's a tie. They're the same bloody person you dolts~! Score: Angels Avengers: 3 Scooby Gang:
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Xander vs. Gunn! I'll pik Xander, since Gunn's wounded. But if Gunn was ok, He'd kick Xanders ass Willow vs. Illyria! Depends. From a distance, Willow would kick Illyria's ass. Up close, hand to hand, Illyria would win hands down. Buffy vs. Angel! Gagh, they'd be two busy wining and fawning over each other to fight. Draw due to angst. Giles vs. Wesley! Oh, this is a close one. A few years ago, I'd say Giles hands down. But recently, Wesley would have kicked Giles' ass, or just shot him down. Andrew vs. Lorne! Lorne pulls out a gun and shoots him. Or just screams and Andrew's head would explode. Spike BS vs. Spike AS! Spike AS would whoop his former, mopier self in a heartbeat. No pun intended. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Xander vs. Gunn! Gunn. Easily. Willow vs. Illyria! Willow. Sorry. Buffy vs. Angel! Buffy. He's still a vampire. Giles vs. Wesley! Giles. Don't try to tell me otherwise. Giles' magic would have smoked that guy who killed Wes. Andrew vs. Lorne! Lorne. Spike BS vs. Spike AS! As in Before Soul and After Soul? I'll take the one without the soul. He never cried about his mom before.

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 You all forget that while Giles has the knowledge in the magic department, he doesn't have a lot of power. The power he used against Dark Willow was borrowed from the coven in England.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Are we going to do Angel seasons? This last one was by far the best, IMO. It had the best 3 episodes in the series whole run (A Hole in the World, Not Fade Away and You're Welcome) To rank them: 5 4 3 1

Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Well, I had this done and I was going to post it before the finale, but decided to wait instead. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 why is it Lorne vs. Andrew? And for all we know, Andrew could have learned fighting or magic or guns (didn't he have a jacket full of guns in Damage?), so it'd be tough to judge the fight really
Mole 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I love all the biblical references: "Looks like we've been kicked out of the garden Eve." And this little Illyria/Wes exchange: "Your wound is mortal." "Aren't we all." Don't forget the most important one: One of you will betray me. Xander vs. Gunn! Willow vs. Illyria! Buffy vs. Angel! Giles vs. Wesley! Andrew vs. Lorne! Spike BS vs. Spike AS! Gunn - That is a no brainer. What was Gunn during season 2-4? The muscle. What was Xander? The guy who saw everything. Hell, Xander had trouble fighting Harmony at one point. Illyria - She beat Angel, Spike and Wes, nuff said. Buffy - She beat him once, granted it was Angelus. But remember, a slayer is stronger than vampires. Wes - Wes had become one bad ass over the years, so he could beat Giles. Plus the fact that Giles is older too. Andrew - Just cause he beat an ubervamp. Spike BS - I say BS because he did kill 2 slayers in Buffy days, so he is a better fighter. I know that happened along time ago, but that was told during a Buffy story. That is 3 for 3. Guest Brian Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I was thinging of a lot of stuff today, mainly about the Sanshu. Do you think the first could have known about this and that's the reason it attempted to coop Spike during Season 7? Also, I remember in an earlier episode thatSpike said something along the lines of "maybe guys like us can't be saved" when talking about being in the hell dimension. Another great reasoning leading up to Angel doing what he did. And also, as for a Connor series, it'd be pretty awesome if he ended up with flashback of Quar'toth. He could eventually bgo psychotic trying to repress these. As for Angel, the W&H blood coursing through him could make him invariably stronger and might have evened things up more. As for Gunn, when he went back to the shelter, was he looking for the gang to help him out? Because that would have been a pretty good idea given the odds. Someone reply to this. And don't forget Spike asking if he could deny Angel three times.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I was thinging of a lot of stuff today, mainly about the Sanshu. Do you think the first could have known about this and that's the reason it attempted to coop Spike during Season 7? Possibly. Though I figured the first just did that to mess with the group dynamic. Spike was an issue for Giles/Wood and Buffy. The First wanted to divide them all up, because Buffy alone is weaker than Buffy w/ Friends. This has been shown throughout the seasons - in fact, all of the seasons. As for Gunn, when he went back to the shelter, was he looking for the gang to help him out? Because that would have been a pretty good idea given the odds. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Good call (again).
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 While last year's Buffy finale, IMO, was a bit underwhelming (Anya's off-screen death, Spike's dusting ... I had already been tipped off to the fact he would return so it wasn't as meaningful ... having WAY too many survivors at the end) ... Angel's finale was the perfect way to go out. Anya didn't die off-screen. It was as on screen as it could be. I didn't see her die. I saw her body but not her death.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I hate Anne because 1) She was such a clingly lil bitch in "Anne" 2) She took the goddamn money from WR&H and has tunnel vision when it comes to her "house". 3) I don't find her particularly attractive. I hate her for 1 and 3, and especially for her character in Buffy season 2. She was such a piece of crap.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Yes, this is the 10 spot Season 5 Review. A collection of all the mini episode reviews I have done up until now. I like to call it "Fuck, Caps, and Happyface: The Angel Season 5 10 spot revue" ENJOY!~! Episode 5.1 “Conviction” I am disappointed my "In the Dark" comment to *Mole* wasn't picked up on... 1. I actually dug Harmony in this - shades of the old Cordy from season 1. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I did. Yay for me. 2. The Kick/GunShot had me markin. A lot of things had me markin in this eps. Angel needs to start doing a vandaminator-esque move where he throws a shotgun at someone, they catch it, and he kicks and their heads blowup... 3. I didn't think I would like Big Lawyer-type Gunn, but it actually works pretty well. 4. Knox was more enjoyable in the Finale... Fred was annoying here... I understand the whole "buckling down" deal, but it just wasn't as fun as it was last season. 5. Eve is on the bubble right now... No Lilah, but she has a bit of the ~Lilah Walk™~. 6. That Frye dude... man, that guy was just sleazy... they should really bring him back sometime. 7. I was nervous going into this season, as I didn't think the whole gimmick and new characters would really work - but this episode helped sorta calm those fears. A lot of really neat stuff in it, there's a lot of potential here, they really should bring back the beast, the balance between G&E is really interesting and a lot of the points made were actually believable for keeping WR&H around, Eve is also on the bubble in terms of hotness -she may grow on me, she may not- no Cordy = Good, I kinda missed the other characters introduced in the finale - like that dude from Van Wilder - or the other watcher but I guess that they can expand on that later, the fight scenes were a bit too chopfooey for me esp. the first one but there was some neat stuff done like the wall walk... 8. I will have to see the interaction between Angel and Spike before I make some noise about his return. 9. HEY! No brooding Connor~! 10. Angel getting his happy-on over the cars had me on the floor. I love lil things like that. 5.2 “Just Rewards” 1. It's weird getting two introductory eps. in a row... 3 if you count the Season Finale. The Spike gimmick is pretty nifty as it allows the Buffyfiles who never watched the show before to come in and relate to a character and share the "fish-out-of-water" experience. 2. I dug the Villain. A lil goofy in places. 3. Notice that Spike has a thing for boney chicks (Buffy, Dru, Fred), while Angel has a thing for blondes (Buffy, Darla, Kate.. Cordy had blonde highlights before she left.) 4. Spike talked too much. He can't keep up the accent through long dialogue - it gets watered down. 5. Not enough focus on the other characters. I know that they will get their time, but they are on screen for maybe 3 minutes each.. c'mon. 5. Season 1 Lilah is not doin it for me. We need 10 CC's of Foxyness STAT. 6. LUUUUCHA MASK! 7. Did anyone else mark out for JM's name in the opening credits? 5.3 “Unleashed” The Good.. Blondie. Yeah, horrible acting and stuff, but some really, really, nice eye candy... good lord some very nice eye candy. Boy was it cold in one scene I'd tap it. "What are you, like some sort of Frankenstein" "What?... No" Fred talking to Blondie about her 5 year stay, I liked it cause I was thinkin about it at the same time. That was pretty funny as well, cause it's so over-the-top, as well as "Angel with a soul" deal. But then she didn't continue along the same thought-process of her blocking herself away from the world, and how that only hurt her.. and how she knew what isolation was like. Spike's "history" with Wes. They should have him try that with everyone and have everyone call his bullshit. The Doctor-dude... that doctor-dude is the doctor-dude on Star Trek: Enterprise!! YEAH! DADDY! I was comparing Buffy with Star Trek like a week or two ago! YEAH! I don't watch Enterprise so I didn't really MARK OUT like I should have, but I still kinda did!! YEAH! I'm kinda sad to see him go. And that "Oh, he took the juice" bit, fuck that. I ain't havin that. They shouldn't mess with Lornes readings; they did last year and it sucked. Fuck Cordy. The Bad This doesn't feel like Angel anymore. The end, with the fucking david gray-esque music (or it was, infact, david gray) had a whole After-School Special feel to it that made me want to puke. I thought it might be a dream, or just fucking with us, and the real ended had the warewolf fucking everything up proper, but it was just fucking hugs and chinese food... what the fuck? There's not really enough pressure on the season, I miss the big bads. I miss the giganto story-arcs. This is so fucking season one, and I already seen Season 1... Season 5 of Buffy had all the kinks worked out, all the characters established, and then played with it. Now we're getting all this new shit. Fuck that shit. 5.4 “Hell Bound” I was totally diggin that episode. Really well done. A different "Feel" from all the others. 1)Not enough EVE, c'mon, how can I judge the foxy if the foxy is not on TV long enough to foxy it up? EH? 2)While it was a Spike-centric eps. and they tend to not-be-as-good-as-they-should-be-given-that-other-one, this one was real good and managed not to overload us on the Spike-quotient. 3)Spike and Angels convo was fucking fabulous. After watching the season 2 eps. where Angel/Darla/Spike/Dru wreck house in the flashbacks, its fun to see it continue-on. And the lil snips at each others "style" - that kinda stuff is what makes this show so enjoyable. I was waiting for the forehead jab, but it never came. 4)"He goes to hell" "Yeah" "Kinda figured that" reminds me sooo much of "She's a robot" and I love it. They build up all this pressure on Fred and .... I love it. 5) Reaper was a good villain, over-the-top in a subdued way. Cool way of building up to it, explains Spike's situation rather well and gives a lil bit of closure. 6)"Welcome to hell" = Great line. 7) Charles Gunn Uber-Lawyer RULES. 8) Is this "let's give Lorne 5 seconds a screen time going to be a running joke? Now that Spikes deal is done, let's give the other players more ice time, okay? 9)Ditto with Wes. He is turning back into bookworm Wes, which sucks. He still has the grizzle, so why not make use of it??? DAMMIT WHERE ARE MY EXTENDO WEAPONS!?! 10)Why couldn't they have done a shower scene with Lilah? It was kinda hard to see Fred behind all those droplets of water vapour 5.5 “Life of the Party” YES!!!! YES! YES! YES! YES! GREATEST!!! FUCK! YES! YES! YES GREATEST EPISODE EVER! YES!!! MOTHERFUCKING FUCKING YES! 1. Drunk Wes is soooooo fucking close to being better than Badass Wes. And THAT'S fucking impressive considering Badass Wes is fucking GOD. 2. Drunk Fred is soooooo much fucking better than current Fred and about a good level and a half better than whacky-afraid-of-the-world Fred... and hotter. Youch. When she was bendin over for like 10 seconds... Youch. Moral of the Story - Keep Fred drunk, but keep Wes as a badass who likes to drink on occasion. 3. Lorne was fucking annoying me though. 4. I concur. The Foxy IS the Foxy; and the Foxy is Eve. 5. That blood/wine/arm thing is just fucked up. 6. SEX! ANGEL! EVE! YES! FUCK FUCK FUCK! FUCK LIKE RABBITS! SESSSSSSUAL TENXION! 7. Gunn pissing on everything fucking gold. They need to keep that shit up. 8. Knox is cool, but Holden still fucking owns him. Either way, fuck this "Dude de jour pimps on Fred", I'm tired of that shit. Wes needs to be fuckin that shit down or just fuck somethin else pronto. We went through this before! 9. Harmony is SOOOOOOOOOO getting on my good side. Her dancing alone one the floor sooooooo warmed my heart. And then there's the "Bossy" or whatfuckingever she called Angel which soooooo says that Angel has totally warmed to her too. 10. This episode ruled. I missed the first fucking 10 minutes and I hate myself for it... luckily it airs tomorrow on SPACE at 8 and I am going to fuck that shit up all over again. I'm all about that shit - SHUT UP Mole, SHUT IT UP, this season fucking rules now. They need the beast back for one eps. though. You know, for old times sake. 11. "What, do they think I'm only inviting them so I can kill em?" - hilarious. Fuck, this eps. will go DOWN in the history books as being fucktacularly fucktastic. 12. You can generally tell if I like something if I overdo the swearing (esp. "fuck"). Fuck, thank god I watch Angel alone cause I was dancing, doing the fucking twist, marking the fuck out like a bitch, "SPIKE!" "ANGEL!" "GUUUUUNNN!!!" ... thank god no one else saw that... but I feel safe sharing it with you, fine freaks of the goodness that is Angel and the brotherhood of Buffy... God bless you... and yes, I DO go into DEAN-mode... RavishingDEANRudo 5.6 “The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco” 1. Yeah, I liked the eps. but I didn't dig it. It was more a play on El Santo rather than Lucha Libre. 2. Lorne's "smackdown" comment was a nifty wink to the wrestling audience.... which means someone on Angel is a wrestling fan... which means there's actually a writer out there in hollywood worth picking up by the WWE... 3. I loved the bit where Spike told Fred Angel beat up the mailboy, and she's like "Not Number 5!" - it reminded me of the Simpsons eps where Homer tells Marge Lenny got hurt so he could go bowling "Not Lenny... NOT LENNY... Kids, I have some bad news, Lenny is Hurt" "NOT LENNY!" - a fucking horrible eps. but a funny line. 4. The Shotgun comment was classic. Wes was on tonight - but still not badass enough. He could have whipped that shotgun out a lot better... 5. Gunn is SOOOOOO much better now... 6. This eps. needed a lil bit of Harm and a touch of Eve. You know, just to raise the foxxxy to appropriate levels... gotta meet the quota. A 0.4 Lilah would have been fine... 7. The Wrestling sucked. But wrestling really has never been portrayed very well on screen... 8. The eps. basically was to further Angels character and the SharonLoisandBramshu Prophecy, just in case this is their last season and they need an "out". 9. They SOOOOOOO need Kate to come back and sex it up one time. Fuck she's hot... it's a fuckin shame she's gone from the reruns on SPACE... but you...YOU TNTites can still appreciate the divine beauty and spank-o-rifficness of Lt. Kate Foxly. Don't be like me, take what you got and keep it close and keep it tight and never let go! 10. "There was no smacking" - Angel 11. I loved how they worked the Connor thing in, that was fucking brilliant cause I legit forgot that they all forgot and I was like "oooooh dat's rite! dat's rite!" 12. I liked how they used the text's again, referencing back to the Season Finale (again). 5.7 “Lineage” 1. YEAH!! YEAH!! YEAH!!! DOUBLE GUNZ MOTHAFUKKAZ! Now, all we needed was the shotgun and extendo-knife and all would have been well in the Wesleyverse. 2. Spikes line about "head boy" was fucking Wesley Windham Pryce-less. 3. Eve was so not rockin da foxy tonight. I mean, would a raised eyebrow or perhaps a long saunter down the hall have killed her??? 4. The references to past eps. were freaking great tonight. Spike saying that people can have sex with robots too was a total mark-out moment (you know, cause of Season 5 and the Buffybot... I mean, it's not like I marked out for personal reasons... oh boy, back into hiding I go...) 5. It really fucking sucks that this could be the last season, cause all the character development they are doing is fucking brilliant. 6. This eps. was rather mild - I got what I expected and they hit every note they could and should have, but I was hoping for more... more of what, I don't know. I think the robots ruined it. I was more interested in the watchers storyline. However, the "let's make Angel our puppet" angle was pretty cool. 7. Wes shooting robodad so quickly after he threatened Fred was fucking BOSSOME~! He needs to brood more like he did when he was at his badass peak. 8. I liked how they tied everything up, with the beginning and Angel not trusting Wes because he kidnapped his son and then in the end he did because he killed his father. There was that sort of righteous bond between them where blood may be thicker than water, but the greater good is thicker than blood. 9. They REALLY gotta explain what they put in the place of Connor in the minds of everyone else cause I wanna know! 10. Spike - in general - was golden. 11. I liked Knox in the beginning, but now he is starting to annoy me. Though I like his references to the "old regime". 12. Fred was soooo channeling Willow early-season 5 in some parts of this. 13. Gunn continues to rule... they need a lil more though... 14. Man, you could sooooo see Wes's father turning on him as soon as he asked about the books and locking them up... and in other news, Joss reads a lot of Freud. 5.8 “Destiny” dfadsjknfgasdkp'l;rfn masdojf askdnghsdfilzxkn ;avlcsldfjkxcfj asdklbcglxkz / fvwsdfkgajl fasdvgfv kdzsfxcgv klzxfcgvb ' Translated: HOLY FUCKING SHIT~! 1. Lindsey. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I was watching the show on the top floor of my house. My computer is 2 floors down. I was screaming and yelling like an n*sync fan on crack as I ran all the way down... luckily, no one is home. I was expecting/hoping/wishing/gently stroking with great anticipation/waiting for it to be LILAH in bed with Eve... cause that so would have made me drop 4 pounds in a second and plastered the walls with... um... but Lindsey is soooo much better in that non-sexual-fantasy kinda way. 2. The flashbacks and how it coincided with the current Angel/Spike story and how they both peaked at the same time was fucking awesome. The Angel-ruins-Spikes-destiny-so-Spike-ruins-his thing is fucking awesome. Their fight was fucking awesome. Spike winning it was so not fucking awesome! I was cheerin for Angel! FUCK Spike! The show is called ANGEL motherfuckers! 3. In other news, Spike stealing Angels car was hilarious. 4. Man, if Lindsey didn't show up I would have SOOOOO been pimping Charles GUNN as the big bad for this season. Him going psycho on Eve was fucking IN-TENSE. 5. Thank Jesus Fred didn't get a lot of time tonight. 6. Fuck. Just when I was about to write Eve off the foxy list, she makes a big heel turn which could turn out well for the drastically low-in-foxy-in-desperate-need-for-foxy Angel. Cause before that, she was "cute". Not enough swivel in those hips, not enough pout in those lips and not enough eye brow movement... hmm, that last one didn't rhyme... The dress, however, was nice. The hair is nice too... she just doesn't work it like Lilah... or Jenny. Or even Darla and Kate. But this new baddy girl thing could work... I shall continue to hold out hope for the next 21st Century Fox. 7. What the fuck was goin on with those markings? They looked a lot like the Shananana prophecy scripture. Are we to believe that Lindsey has been behind this the whole time??? He left in Season 2, which would mean a few years to fully develop the scheme, but c'mon... that's a lil bit hard to swallow. Hopefully they will explain it better in a later episode. As for now... HOLY SHITTING FUCK! It looks like Lindsey is trying to kill two birds with one stone. 8. The first thing Spike does when corporeal... FUCK. That's sweet. 9. Hopefully the Senior Partners will discover Eve's betrayal and bring back the ORIGNAL UBER VIXXXXXEN, the FOXYFUCKSYFOX herself, LILAH to come in and CAAAAAAAAAAAT FIIIIIIGHT with her less-than-foxy counterpart. 10. Really fucking good eps. tonight. It's definitely an eps. they needed to do. It answered a lot of questions and created better ones. Eve is definitely bad, we know why Angel and Spike hate each other.... What is Lindsey doin? Is Spike the real deal? This season gets better and better. 5.9 “Harm’s Way” ... I was watching Firefly. But I'll catch the re-run on SPACE OK! I saw Harms Way tonight! I really enjoyed it - moreso than I thought. Ok, let's see how this goes... been a while... 1. Harmony knocking out the blood tester, lorne and finally Fred was hilarious - the look on her face was priceless. 2. Is it me, or did Fred look exceptionally HOT tonight? SHIT. 3. Harmony vs. The Other Chick was fucking great! GREAT! The chopsticks, the different matrixesque fighting styles, the unicorn jab. GREAT. 4. Some people didn't like the Spike explanation, I didn't mind it. He's always wanted Buffy to think great of him, and him coming back would lessen that. 5. I was feeling for Harmony, but then you realise that she's still a bitch - it's a nice balance. 6... um.. err... uh.... can only think of 5 things... shit... well, Nathan Fillion IS god, btw. Check out the Firefly thread! 5.10 “Soul Purpose” 1. I can't believe no one mentioned THE BEAR!!!!!!!!! That was some awesome. 2. Spike mocking the girl was awesome. 3. The dreams were awesome - everyone was just so happy. Fred operating on Angel was sooooo much fun. Lorne with a 'stache and Gunn with the panther eyes was really cool. 4. This episode was awesome. I'd put it "up there" in the best of the season. But I couldn't help but get a Star Trek feel from it... not a bad thing, mind you. 5. Fred didn't look as hot as she did in the last epy, though. 6. Gunn keeps stealing the fucking show - "ooh, let me hear"~! 7. Fuck, I hate watching on a different-channel-than-the-WB, I DIDN'T GET TO SEE ANDREW!!! 8. The Armageddon sequence and the following magical castle was great. 5.11 “Damage” 1. FUCK Andrew. Motherfucker tryin to play with T.A. FUCK that shit. Angel shoulda had his boyz pop caps in aaaall dem Slayeraz ass'z. I hope the psychoslayer turns on them and kills a nice chunk of em. I liked him at first - with all the LOTR references and the slaying of the vampyres, but then he had to turn of Angel. FUCK THAT SHIT. I HATE THAT SHIT. 2. I LOVE THAT SHIT. It's great how they went against Angel cause he hooked up with WR&H - you kinda get complacent watching the show thinking that they're changing things and that the evil lawfirm ain't evil no more; but it still is. It's a great -effective- way of keeping us (and them) on their toes. 3. Anyone else mark out for "imbue"? 4. Speaking of which, did anyone think the psychoslayer looked a tad like River? Acted a tad Rivery? 5. Shit, I really wanted Spike to be the one who did all those bad things. Just so he could have the past come back and whoop his ass. They still "did" that, but it was much less significant and it was already established and we, as fans, accepted it. Noooo, gotta keep Spike squeeky clean face. FUCK THAT. This ain't "Spike", it's "Angel". Stupid cop-out. 6. The end scene was fucking FANTASTIC and totally came out of the blue and was really fucking effective. 5.12 “You’re Welcome” I loved, loved, loved, loved, LOOOOOOOVED this episode. Just a right mix of comedy, drama, character development, storyline progression, action... EVERYTHING... near-perfect episode. 1. There was one whole scene in the office w/ Eve which HAS TO be a top 5 scene in Angel OR Buffy's history. Cordy telling Angel to torture Eve, Angel refusing, Harmony asking if she can do it, Angel accepting - just written and worked to perfection. 2. They can't just end Lindsay like that, can they??! I mean, fuck, his re-debut on the show had me going nuts and he's there for HOW many episodes? I know they're leading up to something big, but shit, can't leave a playa out of the game for that long just to have him come back for shits and giggles. This reeks of THE BEAST and not in the cool, ass kicking way. 3. Shit, Lindsay reeked of THE BEAST in the cool, ass kicking way! That was so awesome it was Boston, and by that I mean Bossome, which is a boss and awesome hybrid. Wicked Bossome. The leaping and the hitting and the SMACK talking - just a great fight scene. 4. Is it me, or was Cordy HOT? Not only that, but I actually liked her on my TV as opposed to wishing death on her everytime she appeared on screen for the last 2 seasons. Boobies~! Bitch Cordy was so fanfuckingtastic that it made me sad that she died. 5. How they killed her off was GREAT. And by that I mean GREAT and SHITTY - cause Evil Cordy's rise meant the end of THE BEAST as #1 baddy, and Good Cordy's rise meant the end of Lindsay. BEAST GOOD! Cordy bad! But the actual kill-off was really well done with the "she never left the bed" thing and the goodbye kiss and it actually made sense (Powers that Be decide to turn around Angel through Cordy, the cost of which is Cordy's life. "I'll be seeing you" was heartbreaking yet uplifting. It actually hurt more knowing that she was going to die when she was saying all that stuff to Angel. 6. Spike attacking Cordy and Angel taking him to SCHOOL was great - cause it shows that Angel can still own Spike! YEAH THAT'S RIGHT SPIKEMARKS! ANGEL PWNZ HIM! CAUSE HE'S ANGEL MOTHERFUCKAZ! TIALI! TIALI! TIALI! TAKE IT AND LIKE IT~!!!! 7. The references to the past were all fucking wonderful. Lindsay talking about Angel kicking the client out the window, Cordy talking to Wes about ~the research~, the hand, Lorne telling Cordy about acting and Cordy NOT KNOWING WHO COLIN FARRELL IS~! THAT ROKXEORED etc. etc. It gave me the warm fuzzies to hear it represented. Truly a landmark episode. 8. Anyone else notice the eyes Fred was makin at Wes... 9. WHERE THE FUCK WAS DOYLE!?!? I completely missed that. FUCKING FUCK!~ 10. Spike playing on an Xbox = Gold. SpikeBOX! 5.13 “Why We Fight” Wasn't really into this one. Didn't like the actor playing Lawson; too Tom Cruise-ish for me. And was there ever an answer to "Why (we) fight"? Ok, after thinking about it, I think I know why they fight... I was expecting to find out why Spike and Angel fight. This episode was actually really "good", especially as a seemingly throw-away show. Established a lot of stuff, did some neat character development, and reflected various themes in the show. While I did not "dig" or like the episode, it was not "awful". The parallelism with Angel and Lawson was revealing. Angel has lost his purpose since working for WR&H. It's a very significant revelation. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do", Angel has since lost this philosophy. It was best shown in the season premiere where he tried to "do his thing" and couldn't. It's shown with Spike as he now is the hero and "beat" Angel for the cup. "Following Orders" is another biggie, as is being controlled by a greater force, as is keeping control. These are the themes for this season, and this "throw-away" episode reflects -and enhances- it. Again, it didn't really do anything for me, but I can recognize it's value. ----- Then... it happened... metroman: Angel has been cancelled. Rudo: What fucking insincere, patronizing cocksuckers. FUCK WB! FUCK FOX! Television without Joss Whedon is like a Car without Wheels. It just ain't going anywhere. --------- 5.14 “Smile Time” Nina.. Nina... Nina... Nina... ... "Good Lord" - Dr. Hibbert. 2 Words, 1 Message: BOOYAH GramPAH! They went totally overboard with the puppets. It was so gratuitous, so blantent, so slameless... ... God bless'em for it! Angel taking off his nose defined that episode, imo. That, and him going psycho on Spike and puppet vamping. The Big Honker was fucking PRICELESS. They needed to have him as a big bad for some huge story arc; he almost rivals THE BEAST. Hmm, I wonder what that Doctor was smuggling...nah, forget it, it can't be THAT important. I'm happy Fred and Wes are together (Fred was looking HOT tonight and that skirt just keeps getting shorter), I really hope it lasts. 5.15 “Hole in the World” AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH~!!!!!!!! That was fucking AWESOME!!!!!!!!! JESUSFUCKINGCHRIST THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!11 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!! 1. Wesley shooting out the guys kneecap was so fucking boss. SO BOSS. It's fucking Bruce Lee Big Boss. And what happens when Wes finds out that Knox, Gunn and Angel are involved? WHAT THEN!?!??!?!?! OOOOOOOOOOH LORDY!!!!!!!! 2. This episode, top to bottom, was fucking HOT. Off the charts hot. HOT!!!!!!!! FUCK, there needs to be a new word invented to describe the level of absolute hotness this episode had. Everything worked, everyfuckingthing. FUCK YEAH! WHOOOOOOOO! Thats why I watch television! Thats why everything fucking else on today can't touch. FUCK THE FROG! Man, throughout the whole show I was like "shit" "fuck" "OH DADDY" "THIS IS AWSOME!" WHO WAS I TALKING TO??! I DON'T KNOW! BUT I STILL SAID IT!!! 3. The arguing and the Caveman/Astronaut thing had me laughing for a solid minute. No exagerration, fuck that was some of the funniest shit I have ever fucking heard. I knew it would be over nothing but shit, that's really nothing! And I loved how Wes got into it and Fred and Lorne did too. Fucking brilliant. 4. Man, shit, Gunn fucking owns. Owns shit. Gunn fucking owns shit. Season 5 is Gunn. Gunn is Season 5. To know Gunn is to love Gunn, to love Season 5 is to know and love Gunn. The scene with the Conduit, the scene with Knox. Listening to show tunes and then merging it into rap to protect his rep was fucking brilliant. Him saying he and Fred got back together again even had ME! AND I READ THE FUCKING SPOILERS! AM I AN IDIOT? I DUNNO! I STILL WAS FOOLED! MY GAWD THE CAPS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS! LET'S THROW IN A TIDLE~!!~!~!~!!!~! 5. Knox's "oops" and grin was fucking priceless. Absolutely fucking priceless. That totally redeemed him. Holden rocked. Tracy rocked. Knox ROCKED! Give that man a hooker cause he deserves to get laid! BOOYAH GRANDPA!~ 6. Fred and Wes, shit, I was watching that and was thinking "eh, this isn't really effecting me." and then near the end I was like "Shit BOY, are you gonna tear up?! YOU WANNA BOTTLE?!" Fuck that's some good shit right there. Mostly due to EMOTIONAL Wes, because his relationship with Fred was years in the making and after he finally gets her she dies on him. 7. Spike and Angel rule~! That's all I really have to say. The no lie guy (was he from something else? Cause I sure as fuck don't remember him. Did Angel do a crossover with DUNE?) was cool, if not irrelevant. That whole tomb was neato. Shit, I'm running out of adjectives to describe how fucking awesome this episode was. Fuck it. If saying "fucking awesome" a hundred times doesn't clue you in that this was fucking awesome, then you fucking suck! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get mad... this is about love. Love for Angel. Love for God and Love... otherwise known as Joss FUCKING Whedon. FUCK THE WB! FUCK THE FROG! WHY MUST YOU TAKE THIS AWAY!?!?!??! 8. Lorne finally gets his scene and he fucking nearly steals the motherfucking show with it! I liked how he threw in the Fred and Green thing, cause that really showed how Fred was such a nice girl and how everyone was fighting for her. It really was effective. They all had their reasons, and it all was believable. I love that shit down. I love that shit down hard. 9. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It was so good, SO GOOD. SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!!! I read the spoilers, saw what was coming, really liked what I saw, but I didn't think it would be THIS good. ShiT, it gets even better too! This is going to be a very memorable season. 10. The only doubt I have is Fred as Illyra. I dunno if she can totally pull it off. But fuck it, with episodes like this they could have a motherfucking sock puppet as the villain and it'd still come off as gold. 5.16 “Shells” Yeah, I agree witcha Mole 100%. ....I *am* right. But seriously folks, I really, REALLY enjoyed this episode. Not so much that I'll go on an insane "fuck"-fest, but it was just a nice, warm, episode. Not warm in terms of "oooh this was a light-hearted episode that made me realize the importance of goodness", but warm in the "everything is actually playing out now and I'll let it wash out all over me." I really like the pace they're hitting, very relaxed, nothing forced, they've set up their dominoes and they're watching each one fall onto the other. The one doubt I had about this from reading the spoilers was Fred as Illyria, but fuck, if I don't buy her hook-line-and-sinker... just great work and I like the subtle voice change (well, I guess not-so-subtle, but the lower octave changes her from the sweet country girl into a big city woman.. it's a nice touch and she pulls it off well). I also dig the costume even though I thought it was horrid looking from a preview picture. She looks good in it, IMO. Though the one thing I do not get is Wes could smash an axe against her head and it shatters and she doesn't feel it, yet she still dodges Angel and Spikes swords and fears guns. I mean, they probably did it to separate her from THE BEAST in that she is more agile rather than just standing there and no selling everything, but I like just standing there and no selling everything. Actually, what I *really* like about Illyria is that she combines what liked about THE BEAST (Ballstomping Invincibility with a certain distance from her violence... though no Eastern European Accent) and what I liked about Jasmine from Season 4. She is what Jasmine was before Connor killed her - trying to find meaning in this new world. I really love the idea that she expected the human race to die out by now, that she doesn't quite understand why Angel protects humans, that she looks down on Wolfram and Hart - it really makes her an outsider, it makes it believable (at least, within that universe created). Knox was fantastic tonight. Jonathon M. Woodward is a fucking treasure that should be shared with the world on a much larger scale. Great timing; great delivery; just great. Wes is a fucking show stealer (yes, I know, the show was based around him - he still made good!). The way he portrays this painful, desperate, sad, lonely anger is one-of-a-kind work. I haven't really seen anything like it. He plays a crushed individual excellently and given the circumstances (finally getting Fred just to lose her) he had to. I like how they didn't City Of Angels him; where he was content with just the moment of love; where he wanted more. It's a very selfish-thing and he recognizes that. I also liked how they left it open where he didn't say that love and hope were good enough. The irony here is that he is the most empty, yet he is the one sharing. Where, at the end, everyone was alone but him. It's a sort-of twisted thing they're doing too with Wes sticking with Illyria because she looks like Fred. A haunting thought, really; but fitting. I was a lil uneasy about the lyrical music at the end, but once it got going I thought it worked pretty well. I may sound like a broken record, and it may not mean much, but I _love_ how they've positioned the characters and how it relates to Angels overall theme of retribution and "If nothing that we do matters, then what matters is what we do". This is just good fucking television, people. It really puts into perspective that fateful decision they made last season to join with Wolfram and Hart. And Giles denying Angel is *perfect*, because even Giles - who is all about the big picture and doing what shouldn't be done - is turning away from Angel (of course, Giles was never a fan of Angel post-Jenny anyways). They made a deal with the devil, straight-up. It's best represented in Gunn (who was his usually awesome self tonight, even maybe a lil better than usual), whose choice to sign the contract directly effected the world. Those of you who thought this season put too much emphasis off the "big picture", you're right and you're wrong. It did _exactly_ what it set out to do and that's build up to this moment where they realize -and YOU, the viewer, realize- that dispite the good work they've done using WR&H, they still made the _wrong_ decision. Actually, now that I think about it, this episode was really FUCKING good. 5.17 “Underneath” OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH LORDY~! Did I like me some of that! They have really gotten in a groove as-of-late and you can really feel it when watching the show. They've set it all up and are now watching it fall into place. 1. JAAAAAAAAAAAAYNE! The man they call JAAAAAAAAAAAYNE! I mean... HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM, the man they call HAAAAAAAAAAAAM(ilton). Well he robs from the rich and he kicks down the door, he stood up to that Eve and he gave her what for. Our love for him now, ain't hard for a simpleton. He's their newfound liason, the man they call HAMILTON! Adam Baldwin + Angel = Happy World. That IS a nice suit! 2. Everybody with a machine gun! The white kid is Gunns son! YEAH! YOU LIVE WIT DOSE CRACKAS~! You MAKE those white boy jokes~! 3. "So what are we called?... not the scoobies"!!!! BIG POP! This episode was aaaaaaaaaaall about that. "Angel Avengers" is so hot. SO HOT. 4. Harmony in the main credits was fucking sweet cause she SO has earned her stripes this year as a fucking player. She is a fucking PLAYER. She should have been there immediately after "Lorney Tunes". PLAYER. A fucking PLAYER. 5. Illyria is so much more fuckable than Fred. "You called me a smurf", "Shrimp Dimension"... NUFF SAID. Illyria is such an oddity in the Whedonverse. I don't think they've ever done something like her before. Spike and Anya are the closest things, and even then this is different. 6. The punishment/hell thing was sweet and done really well. That was the one thing I was a lil bit worried about but they pulled it off. 7. I like how they've put Wes off to the side and yet have still focused on him. Some really great underplayed stuff. I soooo need to dl the whole season to get a better perspective. 8. Lindsays revelation (no pun) at the end fucking ROCKED. It would have been nice to show how the world has gone to hell, but hopefully they follow up on that in future episodes. I don't know whether to be pissed off or fucking stoked that the end came softly rather than with a big boom, as of right now I am fucking stoked. 9. Despite her decent from Foxdom, Eve was still very much stickable. 10. Hamilton punching the security guard in/through the chest and their reaction makes everything (EVERYTHING) about this season worth it. 11. I really need to see this episode again. There was so much in it that I feel that I am forgetting something big. Shit... did I mention "Scooby"? 5.18 “Origin” Oh mommy, that was what I call good television. The Connor/Angel dialogue was VERY similar to the dialogue from last seasons finale, which was awesome. Illyria might just overtake Harmony as the breakout star of the year (ok.. second to GUNN, who continues to rule it) as the stuff with Spike ("She could hurt someone" "We'll make Spike do it"!!!) was tops. Tons of continutity here and the way they worked in Connor was brilliant, and much like last season when he could see who Jasmine was but went along with it anyways. He's doing it for his family, as they don't know who he is, and Angels (or I should say "Davids") reactions during all of that was on the mark. The scene with Gunn just worked as he continues to be the allstar of season 5. The thing at the end with Wes and Illyria and Wes finding out what he had done in the past was fucking righteous. Right now on SPACE, they are rerunning Buffy Season 3 (Grad day part 2 was on last night) and Angel (Conner is about to be born), which puts SO much of this stuff into perspective. If they had to go out, I'm glad they are going out hitting all the right notes. 5.19 “Time Bomb” Oh god... oh god... that episode was fucking awesome. I loved every second of it. About a half hour in I checked the time because I was worried I wouldn't have enough. I read the spoilers, but it didn't come close to doing this show justice. 1. This episode had everything from everyone. Lorne got time, Wes got time, Gunn got time, Illyria got time, Angel got time, HAMILTON~! got time. A very, very satisfying episode. 2. Hamilton fucking OWNSES! Adam Baldwin is fucking loving this character and we love it too! "I still like him better than Eve". He plays it straight, and it couldn't be played better. 3. The opening was righteous as it started off (IIRC) the same way the last episode did, hinting at things to come. Illyria has more than made up for the loss of Fred IMO. Having the monster kill itself is classic Whedon (can I say that?). 4. Amy Acker is soooo fucking working this character and might overtake Gunn for the player of the year... cause Gunn isn't so much fuckable as he was good. "This one is lusting after me" The "this happened before" was a great throw-in cause they made sense of it with Wes talking about time and mechanics (which got thrown out the window ) when it really was Illyria defying all that. 5. CRAZY WES is not BADASS WES, but it's a step above PUSSY-ASS BRITISH WES & ROGUE DEMON HUNTER WES and around BROODING WES. 6. "We'll have the organic cola" *BIG POP*!! Them, in general, ruled when they said "3rd trimester~!" 7. Illyria killing the gang was motherfucking FUCKING WOMPASS! I never expected that. Just pure OWNAGE. It sucks that they had to zap her of some of her powers cause that's the main appeal of Illyria - she talks game and she plays game. Hopefully she'll still do that, cause whe she picked up Angel and slammed him against the wall, that was BADACE. "Well that's mature!" 8. 9. That was in reference to what they are doing. Don't miss the second last episode, I promise it will blow your fucking mind. 10. Have I mentioned how amazing this season is? Cause I'm thinking when its over, we're in Buffy Season 5 territory, and it might just be the new MEASURING STICK. 11. The Senior Partners and Illyria thing is rocking my world, cause they still could have brought her back just so they could kill her - you know, Cyrus Vail style, where just being locked up doesn't mean you're gone. 12. AAAAND Wes breaking the memory box cause he thought it would bring back Fred was a beautiful touch. This isn't some bullshit City of Angels thing where "at least I had her for one moment" type deal, this is "I don't know how I can live without her" torture and there is no easy solution... there may be no solution. 5.20 “The Girl in Question” Didn't see tonights episode, so I can't comment. I didn't like the idea especially since they are building to the end of the show, but I assume they planned this with the intention of getting SMG for the role - which would have brought this eps. stock up significantly. To say it's "NO where" near Buffy Season 5 is a bit ridiculous. I can poke some holes in BS5 that could bring it down a notch, and I bet when this seasons DVD comes out it will be appreciated a lot more in retrospect. I caught the last half of the show (they arrive in Rome) and Ripper is right, this show was necessary. I wouldn't have put it as the 3rd last - it would have maybe been 4th last - but it did something that no one is really mentioning: Bringing up the past. It's a subtle homage to the Buffyverse (ok, when Angel is going over all the shit he has done it wasn't so subtle ) and at the end there they weren't only talking about Buffy - but the show as well. We all have to move on now, even if we don't want to... but we'll never really actually move on because it will be forever with us. I loved what I saw, and I loved how it seemed "outside" of the regular Angel world - the camera shots, the music, everything. And Illyria switching Fred on and off was fucking beautiful. I can't get enough of this angle. 5.21 “Power Play” 1. Hamilton rules. His convo with "Dro" and the implication that he is "really old" rules. Plus, he beat the SHIT out of Illyria. That was some Grade-A ass whoppin right there. And the end with him just looking into the room was fucking awesome. Goddammit, Gunn, Illyria, Harmony and Hamilton all competing for top spot on the Players list. Oh yes, there WILL be a players list at the end of this season~. 2.“It’s pointless. And annoys me. And yet I am compelled to play on.” = my new sig. Watch for it. 3. Mole, I know you mean "3 part arc" in a different way, but this episode gave validation to ALL the episodes thus far in Season 5 AND the Season 4 finale. I can't wait to see this all over again either on DVD or in reruns or through downloading - cause this shit goes DEEP! I mean, one of my favourite moments of this year even had relevance; in 5.1, Angel getting all happy about choosing from his selection of cars, showed how much he enjoyed the power given to him. It built up from the perks and, conceivably, into the power-hungry fiend he portrayed himself as tonight. PLUS, I love how they put in a lot of the 'villains' from the earlier episodes into the COTBT. 4. When I read the Cordy Kiss deal in the spoilers I melted... so hot. SO HOT. Great stuff. 5. The Fred/Connor thing was beautiful. How the two innocents harmed by fate had their downfall, and how Angel can't let that happen anymore. He has to do _something_. 6. The Circle of the Black Thorn (and the Senior Partners) wanting Angel in makes perfect sense, since it has been WR&H's objective to get Angel on their side from the very beginning. The more I think about it, the better this episode is. 7. I wasn't digging this episode right away and alot of that was because I had read the spoilers, however, when Spike basically said "bring it on", I was feeling it. Angels voice sounded funny when giving that speech, though. 8. Mmmm Nina. A lot less nipplage, but she looked DAMN good in that nightie. That certainly wasn't a stake 9. Drogyn and Fred playing Xbox was sooooo fucking cool. Shit, now I want a Drogyn mini series! DAMN! 10. Did anyone else get the Hillary Clinton vibe from the Senator?? That was intentional, right?? 5.22 “Not Fade Away” YES YES YES YEYS defadlzgj sagjmkl YEYS YE Yhokljsafd gkljfdl;gjkfd;gmfdsa./ !!!!!!!!!! sAY IT WITH ME NOW~! BEST EPISODE EVER! Oh maaaaaaan I read the spoilers but this is the kind of episode that fucking goes waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond that shit! God DAMN that was what I call television! Right there, RIGHT THERE is the best Angel of all time, and fuck it, it's the best motherfucking Buffyverse episode of all time, and I'll come over to your house with a motherfucking sword and "work"! if you don't agree!!! One last time baby! 1! That final moment fucking owned everything. "Let's work" (or "lets get to work" or whatever~!) is so my new fucking thing to say whenever anything happens. I was so fucking pumped after that, I think it was the perfect ending. I was jumping around my house kicking shit and yelling "YES YES YES YES YES!" What am I saying yes to? I DON'T KNOW! If the question is "Did you fucking love every (EVERY) second of that episode" then there's your fucking motherfucking answer motherfucker! 2! Wesleys death. Tears in my eyes. I was watering up. I watered up when I first read the description, and I was on the verge of crying like a little girl. God DAMN, I was worried that they wouldn't give it enough time with time left in the show, but it was perfect. You'll hear me say that word a lot in this... perfect... that is. I just loved the fact that he wanted the lie and that Illyria was crying for him. Jesus Christ, that was beautiful. BEAUTIFUL. How in gods name can people create such things, how can they make me feel this way? I love it. I feel all warm inside. It's a fabulous feeling. Fred saying "we'll finally be together" fucking did me in. God damn that's manipulative writing and I... LOVE... IT. 3! Fuck it. I'm pimpin it. HAMILTON IS A PLAYER! Jesus God Damn that was a fine addition to the show. His deadpan delivery and the subdued cockiness - oooooh I'm all about that shit. GREAT fight scene! "Now, tell me the one word you shouldn't have said there" - BLOOD MOTHERFUCKER! YOU SAID BLOOD! YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT~!!!!!! 4! The comedy. THE COMEDY! This had EVERYTHING in it - it made me tear up, it made me get right the fuck into it, and it had be LAFFING hysterically. Two things in particular: - Spike at the Poetry Battle. Spike raising his hand. Spike saying "at least it's not you" - Harmony asking for a reference and Angel having it on the table. 5! Lorne shooting Lindsay. That was COLD BLOODED. Man, they just made Lorne one of the darkest characters in that one moment. "He's not coming for you. Go." "Where would I go?" That's a sad moment that'll probably get lost in the shuffle. Very nice stuff. But MAN was that cold blooded. The silencer was a nice touch. "I was killed by a flunky". 6! When I first read how they were going to kill Sybassis, I loved it. When I saw it, I loved it. A nice twist, a very nice twist. 7! GUNN! Capping off his ALL STAR season proper~! First with Annie and her perfect response, then by fucking NAILING the senator in the head with a hatchet, and then -finally- making those 10 minutes count!! ALL STAR PLAYER!!!!! 8! Harmony in a bra. DAMN! Have I mentioned how happy I am she was included in this season?! 9! Illyrias head tilt when the lights came on - it was exactly how I envisioned it. I would have liked to have seen her wreck house, but I guess I'll settle her MORPHING FROM FRED AND PUNCHING CYRUS' HEAD OFF! JEEEEEEEEESUS!!!!!!!! 10! Great resolutions here, IMO. Angel signing the Shan Shu, Connor FINALLY being grateful for all his father has done (great save there too!), Wes and Fred "being together forever"... all it was missing was LILAH~, and I can easily forgive them for that, because this episode was flawless. 10 Spot OUT~! HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 While last year's Buffy finale, IMO, was a bit underwhelming (Anya's off-screen death, Spike's dusting ... She got chopped in half.
Anya 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 The scoobies would do well against those demons. They're more than the sum of their parts. Xander may not be a warrior but he's "clocked field time". Xander vs. Gunn - Gunn is simply a better fighter. Willow vs. Illyria - Illyria just seems to have super strength now. Willow could take down someone like that. Buffy vs. Angel - Buffy is the strongest fighter in the Whedonverse. She would own Angel. Giles vs. Wesley - Wes is younger, faster, stronger. The only way Giles could win is by out smarting him. Andrew vs. Lorne - Andrew is a champion and a genius, he would just destroy Lorne.
Anya 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 You see her get sliced, but she might not die instantly. It's REALLY sad when Xander calls out to her and she is buried in the rubble. Great, now I'm thinking about that again and getting all riled up and upset. Maybe she wasn't really dead, but crawled out and caught up with the scooby bus later. Yeah....that's it. Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Here's the irony of all ironies. A year ago I made my first post at The Smart Marks. Yep, May 20, 2003. You know what thread it was on? It was the "All- Time Buffy List," made a day after Buffy's last episode which aired the night before. It was almost like destiny :sniff: Ok, enough emotional stuff. On to the fights: Xander vs. Gunn Gunn Definitely. And it's not just because Xander has one eye. He may have military training, but he's probably the weakest fighter on the Scoobies save Andrew. (Sidenote: Did anyone see that article in People saying that the actor who plays Xander turned himself in to a Alchohol treatment clinic?) Willow vs. Illyria This time it's mind over powers. Willow could easily beat Illyria, if she had the will to. but after killing Warren she'd be too scared. Illyria, on the other hand... Andrew vs. Lorne Here's what may surprise you. Lorne's killed Lindsey in cold blood, but he obviously wants none of that anymore. But Andrew's killed his best friend, and now he's a big player for the Slayers, so Andy's got my vote. Giles vs. Wes here's a good question: who would win in a fight: experienced Watcher with magic powers or ex-Watcher who welds a shotgun and has a mean streak? Answer: Giles shows he too has a mean streak (Ripper?), but Wes shows he has nothing to lose. Buffy Spike vs. Angel Spike If there was any question?! Buffy Spike was a pansy who followed Buffy around like a lonely dog. Angel Spike is a man's man. Buffy vs. Angel Angels got the power and hundreds of years of brutality behind him. But Buffy's got three things going for her: her powers, the ax, and the fact that she beat him before. Buffy wins. Also, Anya beats Cordy, Tera beats Harmony, and Connor beats Dawn in the bonus rounds, so: Scoobies- 4 Avengers- 5 Victor!
Mole 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 And also, as for a Connor series, it'd be pretty awesome if he ended up with flashback of Quar'toth. He could eventually bgo psychotic trying to repress these. I was thinking of a movie. I already starting ideas down for a script that I'm going to work on over the summer.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Just wanted to let you guys know, if you're into this kind of stuff, This website sells original shooting scripts from selected (read: AWESOME) Angel episodes. There's also a sidebar for Buffy scripts if you want to check that out, too. Anyway, I ordered the "Origin" script (1: Drew Goddard. 2: Awesome dialogue 3: Great great great episode), and with shipping it came out to $20 (the price is actually only $12.95, so it's the shipping that's crappy). Once I get it, I'll let everyone know how they are.
