Guest Brian Report post Posted June 6, 2004 The problem I had with Adam wast he government involvement. It wasn't that they were involved, but once things went wrong how could they have not terminated it. I mean, really. We've got smart bombs. Just drop them on the initiative complex. Raid it with an army. Nuke the place. Once Adam killed Walsh, that should've been the end of him. They didn't know where he was. They only found out he was in the Initiative when his plan started up. I have Buffy dreams. Last week I had a dream I went bowling with Emma Caulfield and Tony Head. Plus I daydream about Buffy like 24/7. They would have cleansed the Initiative project, period. There's not going to leave all that information and testing alone after the loss of their head.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Joss confirmed that Hamilton was supposed to represent the network suits. Dumb. The whole thing sorta represented the suits. The suits were putting Joss in a position where he ahd to write more stand alone shows, and in the end when it looked like that's what he was doing, he pulled back and had something running through-out the whole time anyways. Same with Angel.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 6, 2004 This looks to be the final timeline, unless anyone has anything else to add. 1727- Liam is born in Galway, Ireland. 1753 - Sired in Ireland. Massacres the entire village, including his family. 1764 - (York, England) Holtz is already on the hunt for Angellus and Darla, where they slay his family. 1765 - Followed by Holtz, Darla and Angel take refuge in a barn in France before their cover is blown. 1767 - (Marseilles, France) In transit to Morocco while fleeing Holtz. Traveling with James, Darla, and Elizabeth. 1771 - (Rome) The monsignor assists Holtz in his capture and torture of Angellus before Darla arrives with reinforcements to bail him out. I'm pretty sure this is the last confrontation between the two. 1789 - (Prussia) Angel is on route to Vienna when he meets the Beast. Angel is beat to near death before the Beast is banished. 1799 - Angel sires Penn. 1818 - (Dublin, Ireland) Kills Daniel on Christmas. 1838 - Romania 1860 - (London, England) Angel sires Dru, who once had the visions. 1880 - (London) Dru turns Spike. Darla has left Angelus for the master. The three massacre a wedding. Spike finds Angel messing with Dru after telling him she was his "destiny". And the two fight, with Angel prevailing and giving the young'un a lesson. 1880 - (Yorkshire, England) On the run from London, the four take refuge in a coal mine during the day. 1890 - Angellus is watching Jezel (ballet) by the Valiznikov troupe. I'm assumingthis is in St. Petersburg. 1894 - (Rome, Italy) - Being tied up with Spike so the Immortal can have a three-way. 1898 - (Borsa, Romania) Ensouled after murdering a gypsy girl that Darla brought Angel. 1900 - (China) - Angel tries to reunite with Darla during the Boxer Rebellion. Spike defeats a slayer. 1902 - (New York, New York) Angel arrives in the US. 1920s - (Chicago, IL) Angel saves a puppy 1920s - (Juarez, Mexico) Angel fights Boone over a senorita for three and a half days before the sun comes up and Boone lets up. 1930s - (Las Vegas, NV) Hanging with Bugsy Segal. 1943 - (Atlantic Ocean) Angel is being used by the US government to help recover a captured sub. 1952 - (Los Angeles, CA) - Angel is at the Hyperion where a poltergeist is in control of the hotel. Angel is hung and leaves before he can slay the ghost. Early-Mid 60's - (Las Vegas, NV) Hung out with the Rat Pack at the Sands. 5/1/67 - Angel attends Elvis' wedding at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. 1975/6 - Angel drinks from a restaurant owner who's been shot, spends the next twenty years drinking from rats and living in alleys. 1996 - Whistler, working for the PTB and trying to restore a balance between good and evil, offers to pick up Angel and get him started. Angel is wandering the streets of Manhattan. He shows him Buffy in Los Angeles.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Didn't they show when Holtz came home and discovered his family murdered by Angel? That should be on there... Dames
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 6, 2004 It is. 1764 - (York, England) Holtz is already on the hunt for Angellus and Darla, where they slay his family. Holtz and his group already have someplace cornered, then they find a tunnel, which leads them back to Holtz's house, where the family has been massacred. And his daughter sired. Which really is symbolic of the kind of character Holtz is.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I'm dropping this here because this is where Whedon's relative fan base on the board is more likely to come across it: Whedon's ASTONISHING X-MEN #1 has hit comics stores. And it's very, very good. Go pick it up and support his run there kids.

Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 They would have cleansed the Initiative project, period. There's not going to leave all that information and testing alone after the loss of their head. They did. They just had to take care of Adam first.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 Disavowing the knowledge is not cleansing the project. Cleansing it is eliminating all evidence of it, which would have been the first thing they would have done (and rather quickly given the contents of the information and site). Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 They can't just destroy it at first because Adam is loose and there's this big raise in demon activity. Once that's over they do destroy everything. The thing is burnt down and filled with concrete. Well, at least until they retconned that in season 7.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 They lost Walsh, which means they should have done something, plus they had the rise in activity. They didn't even know about Adam, so it wouldn't have affected their decision. What they knew was they lost their leader and that things were getting hectic. They assumed it was whatever kind of demon.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 They found out about Adam right after.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 And, having found out about Adam, you don't think they wouldn't have wanted to eliminate this thing quicker?
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 Adam left. They found out he exists then he bails. They didn't know where he was until Primeval and by then there was like 20 minutes left until Buffy killed him. And no, I think they'd get a temp leader to come in and figure out exactly what was going on before destroying the place, which is what happened.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 If things were normal (or as normal as can be), then I'd say yeah, they'd just bring in a new leader. But things were on the upswing and Adam, which is something they're not trained to deal with, went AWOL.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 The new leader was just there to stablize the place while they took care of Adam and decided what to do. It's not like they tried to just continue where Walsh left off.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 They tried to stabilize things that were already spiraling out of control.
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 Well, that argument keeps going in circles. So, I propose a new topic. Hmm... On what episodes were some of the members of the Circle of the Black Thorn first seen? Off-hand, I know Arch-Duke Cebasses(sp?) was first seen in "Life of the Party". So, what of the other prominent figures of the Circle?
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 First appearance of Izzy the Devil was in the 100th episode, I believe. Cordy - "You made a deal with the devil!" Angel - "That's not what it's like at all." Izzy - "Hey, Raquetball Thursday?
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 The Sahrvin (the guys Lindsay and Lorne were sent to take out) were, I believe, one of the 'warring clans' in Harm's Way. And, obviously, the Fell Brethren were in Time Bomb, Cyvus Vail was in Origin, and Senator Brucker was in Power Play.
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 What about the two other members that Illyria killed, that were with Izzy in the limo?
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 Woah, I have missed a lot of shit here. You know what I was thinking today; in the beginning of season 7 and 4, there were only three people "fighting evil." I wonder if they did that on purpose.
AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 In a bit of Buffyverse actors news, Julie Benz made an appearance on Fox's Oliver Beene last night, and Adam Busch is going to be a regular on The Jury, which debuts Tuesday on Fox, and tonight on Global in Canada (against Raw and Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals with a Canadian team ). Guest reekspeak Report post Posted June 7, 2004 Despite any rumors we have heard, as of recent, concerning ANGEL’s future - in the latest issue of ANGEL magazine (Issue 4) - it has been confirmed that James Marsters, Amy Acker and Tom Lenk have signed on to do whatever lies ahead for ANGEL, whether it be TV movies, a sixth season, or a possible big screen movie - we will definitely be seeing Spike, Illyria and Andrew in the mix. Although James and Amy are going to be involved in their own projects for the next few months, they have confirmed that they will be part of ANGEL’s future. http://www.buffy.nu/article.php3?id_article=4894 That's screaming out Illyria the series, with Spike in tow. ... Well actually it's not but it's always nice to dream about a spin-off that could actually work.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 It screams three people that won't find work again. Don't get me wrong, I love'm all and I am probably the biggest Marsters mark, but these guys and Alexis...never going to get steady work again, just like Nick Brendons career was over after buffy ended. J. August Richards, and David will get work, but Acker, as great a actress as she is, won't find a thing, Alexis will be in commercials despite deserving a best supporting actor nod at the Emmys and James Marsters only other major work has been on Andromina and "Camera Guy" in "House on Haunted Hill". Incredible stage actor and that is probably what he will be doing. Tom Lenk...come on. He already is doing commercials. If it ain't a Joss Whedon project, none of these guys are really going to get work again unless Hollywood wakes up and smells the talent. But Paul Walker and Tyrese CONTINUE to get movie roles.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 7, 2004 I'm pretty sure Alexis and Marsters will end up back on the English theater circuit. Which is where they'll be appreciated.
