It was on at 9 last night, that's when American Idol was on.

Adding my thoughts, which echo what some others have said.

 

I thought the episode was by far the best of the season. The swerve at the end with Cordy was great. A moving resolution. Awesome stuff.

 

Lindsay was pimp. Very cool fight, and I especially liked how the "City Of..." score was worked in.

 

The references ruled.

 

The bit with that devil-ish owned! Classic Whedonverse right there.

 

Spike flipping out over the Xbox was funny, but damn, I would have thought a show such as this wouldn't fall into the cliche of using old school sound effects with modern consoles.

I liked the episode where Spike and Angel fought better than this one. That one ended with Lindsey showing up. I'm sad to see him go.

The ratings are probably down due to college basketball too. here in MD, atleast with Millineum Cable, Angel is getting prempted by ACC Basketball.

I don't think Lindsey is gone for good. I'm sure Angel will either destroy The Ultimate Machine to Destroy Angel or prevent others from getting it. Thus, the Senior Partners may juice Lindsey up with more mojo to make him their Angel fail-safe.

 

BTW, did we ever find out what the machine actually does (besides destroying Angel)?

Yes. The thing in the tank is a big button with the word "Cancellation" on it. Such drastic measures have been taken to stop the threat of Firefly as well.

Always thought they'd make that a recurring thing- every couple of eps, or maybe during sweeps Angel would visit her for a chat. Kind of wierd o just drop her for a few years.

I am sure Joss wanted to save her for something special; like coming back to stop Angelus. I think I might watch those episodes tonight since I'm too lazy to go out tonight.

 

That is why Joss didn't kill her in season 3, he said he wanted to save her for later on.
